00:00 Who do you think will face West Brom?
00:20 Yes, it is looking very likely now that West Brom will make those playoffs. Of course, nothing is done yet. Anything can happen in these last eight or nine games across the division. We've seen so many shocks over the years where sides have been right near the top and then they've fallen back.
00:34 We've seen it as well with Leicester City. Everyone put them down as title winners pretty much immediately when they were going on this winning streak at the start of the season. Now they've fallen back and Leeds and Ipswich are in the hunt and maybe Southampton too. West Brom, they could have a similar fallout, so they can't get complacent. As it stands, they are looking very likely.
00:52 The teams that they could be facing in the playoffs if they do make it, the likes of Ipswich and Southampton, as I mentioned, potentially Leeds United as well. A recent supercomputer has put West Brom fifth with Ipswich in third, Southampton in fourth.
01:07 And then for sixth spot, Coventry City. Of course, it could be Norwich, it could be Hull, it could be Middlesbrough, Preston. Lots of teams still in there. But those three teams that I mentioned, Ipswich, Southampton and Coventry, West Brom have got quite good records against them.
01:21 Ipswich, a win and a draw. Coventry, two wins. It's just Southampton, potentially a slight bogey team, a defeat and a draw against them. So I think there'll be a lot of confidence. They're very good against these top sides in terms of just solid defensively. It's just whether they can deal with the pressure, obviously getting to Wembley as well.
01:40 And obviously it could be something that haunts Carlos Corbijn getting so, so close to the Premier League with Fullersfield and then just falling short of the very final hurdle. Is this something that, you know, you look at Corbijn now and you think it's a fresh manager, plenty more experience and he goes into this playoff race with a lot more confidence? Is that sort of a clear image to see?
02:02 Yeah, definitely be haunting you if they do make it to Wembley for that final. It doesn't get much more painful than that, does it? You get there, so much hope, the £100 million game they call it, and then losing it is crushing. That'll just give them even more determination to not let that happen again. And he loves West Brom, he loves the fan base, there's a great connection there. Of course, the recent takeover as well. It'd be a must win if they did reach that position.
02:24 The squad is stronger at West Brom and there's a lot more confidence there. And he's got that experience, as you mentioned. So I think he'll be confident they can do it.
02:31 Just having one goal in the game, if they can keep a clean sheet, is obviously enough for a win. And they've been doing that consistently. We saw that with Corbijn at Huddersfield Town as well when they got into the playoffs. It was one nil, two nils here and there, two ones. It's that core, it's that base defensively that's so important. It might not be that attractive at times, it might not be that exciting, but if it gets them in the playoffs, gets them a chance at the Premier League, then they've got to do it.
