00:00West Bromwich Albion have mentioned how important Carlos Corberán is to keep at the side, but
00:07they do have some key players who are looking likelier to leave. It's interesting, we've
00:12discussed their expectations, how they want to make another play-off push. Could these
00:17key player exits sort of impact that, do you think, in this next season?
00:22I think potentially the expectations will have to lower if key players do go. Cedric
00:28Kipray, he's not gone on to the pre-season training programme because it looks like he's
00:32going to depart the club. His contract's already expired, there were talks over a new deal,
00:37but considering he's not part of the set-up at the moment, it doesn't even look like he's
00:40considering the possibility of staying, which is a great shame. He was one of the best players
00:44at the club last season. He went on loan to Cardiff City and then came back to West Brom.
00:51No, I don't think anyone expects him to be the star that he was, but just how important
00:56he was to Carlos Corbijn's side reaching the top six. He was instrumental, so losing
01:01him is going to be a massive loss and replacing him as well will be very difficult. But then
01:05Ayko Yakuzlu as well, a Turkish international, looks like he could be going back to his home
01:10country. Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş are both fighting for him. Beşiktaş being a massive
01:16name in Turkish football and Trabzonspor being his former club, both are very good options.
01:21Is he really going to want to stay at West Brom at the moment when they're looking like
01:24they're not going to be in a title fight, a promotion fight? Probably play-offs is the
01:28expectation. Can they even get that with how competitive it's going to be? If he goes as
01:32well, one year left on his contract, the only real chance West Brom are going to get to
01:37recoup any of the fee. It's going to be difficult to keep hold of him. So losing two such vital
01:42players, can they really expect as much as they did last season? I'm not too sure.
01:48It's been an interesting time with the ownership situation at West Brom. It's started to look
01:55more positive, it's started to sound more positive with them saying they were going
01:59to back the manager and really aim for that promotion and get back to the Premier League.
02:04But it doesn't seem to have really kick-started so far this summer. What do you think is the
02:08situation going on between the ownership and the whole club really? Because time is ticking
02:16and that first day will be coming around sooner rather than later.
02:19Don't get me wrong, I think Shilam Patel is going to do a fantastic job. He already is.
02:25Writing off the debts that West Brom had, they were really mounting up all the interest.
02:29Brilliant that he's done that and he's fully committed. Carlos Corbijn and him have a great
02:33relationship as well. £1 million investment into the training facilities recently. I think
02:38West Brom are in for a bright future. It's just these immediate 12 months to follow.
02:44They're not going to have the spending ability just because of financial fair play and the
02:48regulations there. They can't go and spend millions like they might want to. They've
02:52got to try and balance those books. The departures that are going on, Kyprae for free, Yakuzlu
02:57will be a cut price one because of the fact it's got 12 months left. It's not like they're
03:01selling someone for £20 million and they can go and spend that on the whole squad to
03:05invest. They've not got the facilities at the moment. So that's why they're going to
03:08struggle. But if you look 12, 24 months down the line, then they should be able to invest
03:13a bit more and the horizons will be a bit brighter for West Brom.
