00:00Charlie, looking at West Bromwich Albion and Tony Mowbray coming into the side again, it's
00:06been a bit of a difficult start for him obviously, but we've mentioned how close the race is
00:11for championship promotion at the very top. It's a slippery slide if you go a few games
00:17without a win, for example, as well. He's sort of seen both of those sides of it since
00:23coming back to West Brom. What's the situation following the window? Are they in a decent
00:28position now to push on until the end of the season?
00:32I think they are. They need to reinforce an attack, and it looks as if they might not
00:37do that, but then they did on transfer deadline day and the day before that. Will Lancashire
00:42coming in from Tottenham Hotspur on loan for the rest of the season. He'd scored in the
00:46Europa League earlier this campaign. He's been breaking through under Andr Postakoglou,
00:50sort of can get in behind, also decent in the air. He should play a fair amount of games
00:55before the end of the campaign. And then on deadline day, right at the end, went down
00:59to the wire and actually until the next morning, Adam Armstrong from Southampton. He was one
01:05of the Saints star players last season when they were promoted from the championship.
01:09He scored two against West Brom in the championship playoff semifinal. He's someone that haunted
01:15Albion in the past, but he's worked with Tony Mowbray at Blackburn. Mowbray played a massive
01:19part in getting him through the door. It was only very late on in deadline day that Armstrong
01:23became available, but he's a proven goal scorer, someone who should be able to lead
01:27the line for the Baggies. Josh Major being injured is a big blow. Daryl Dekay's not quite
01:32back to fitness just yet. It should take him a while. So having Armstrong there, a proven
01:37player, he's got the experience, should be a huge boost.
01:39Yeah, and just on West Brom's consistency, it's sort of been at times this season, win
01:45loss, win loss. Obviously, the managerial change. But if you look at any app now, it's
01:51only one scroll until you're at the very bottom of the fixtures. It's that close. How
01:56important is it that they build a bit more consistency in terms of results and can take
02:01that into the final few days of the season?
02:03Yeah, as you mentioned, the win-loss situation. I think Baggies fans would have been fairly
02:09happy with that when they were drawing every single week. But now they might be begging
02:14for the draws back, better than defeats, of course. But Mowbray, it's always going to
02:18take a little while to settle under a new manager. He's definitely got the right kind
02:21of ideas. He wants to be positive. He wants to play attacking football. Sometimes it's
02:27a little bit risky and they can be beaten on the transition. We saw that against Plymouth
02:31Argyle, a shock result for them. Bottom of the league, Plymouth are and they beat the
02:35Baggies. That was an upsetting one for Fabian fans. But having a bit of added firepower
02:40will certainly make the difference. I think it's just the competition that's difficult.
02:44Middlesbrough, especially, are really pushing on for the championship playoff spots and
02:47West Brom need to be at their best and potentially ride their luck at times to finish in that
02:51top six.
