00:11 Welcome back to the sixth annual Sanderson-Ford Guardian Games.
00:16 We're so excited to be out here enjoying this beautiful day,
00:19 beautiful weather, and of course,
00:21 the beautiful activities that are going on.
00:22 And I'm standing here with two incredible people.
00:25 One we introduced you to a little bit earlier.
00:27 This is Jamie, the president and CEO of the Special Olympics.
00:30 But I am going to talk a little bit with a close friend of mine
00:34 because we work together at Channel 7.
00:36 This is Curtis.
00:37 He is our sales manager here at the CW7.
00:40 So Curtis, we are so involved this year.
00:42 It's a really great thing that we're doing out here.
00:44 Tell me a little bit about what it means to you
00:45 to be out here this year.
00:47 Yeah, you know, Guardian Games is a great event.
00:50 It benefits a lot of different people in the community.
00:53 Special Olympics, Sanderson-Ford has really
00:56 come together and brought us together for this.
00:58 This is a third consecutive year doing this.
01:01 We've raised a lot of money for Special Olympics.
01:03 And it's just, you look at the people around us and everybody,
01:07 and it's just an amazing event.
01:08 It does a lot for this community.
01:10 It really does.
01:11 And we're so thankful to be out here.
01:12 Tell me a little bit about the game
01:14 that we brought out this year because this
01:16 is really, really cool.
01:17 So yes, we-- Family Feud, we have live.
01:21 We're doing it live here.
01:22 So we've got two teams, four competitors on each team.
01:27 And it's a great opportunity for people
01:29 to play in a fun and exciting environment.
01:31 You win, you lose.
01:33 But some of the answers are priceless to hear.
01:35 And you've got these great Special Olympic athletes
01:37 participating with law enforcement,
01:39 and then some great community leaders also
01:42 participating in it.
01:43 It's just an amazing event.
01:46 And what's really cool is we're doing the Family Feud
01:48 particularly because we have it on our station.
01:51 So I know we all know what to say when
01:53 someone does an answer.
01:54 You do a good answer, good answer.
01:56 How have people been playing out here today?
01:58 Has it been a lot of energy?
01:59 Some great answers, some great laughs.
02:02 It's been priceless.
02:03 And we're just getting started, so it's fun.

02:23 We've been partners for the last three years.

02:51 Programming is free for our athletes.
02:53 And so we have to raise all the money
02:55 to ensure they have competitive opportunities.
02:57 So this means the world that they can come out and be
03:00 included in their communities.

03:04 about just what this means to you
03:06 and kind of how these funds came together.
03:08 Yeah, I have a daughter with special needs.
03:12 Jamie and I have known each other for almost a decade.
03:15 So we want to really try and give back
03:17 to the people that matters most.
03:19 And so this is just one of those great opportunities
03:22 to help everybody out.
03:24 Well, it's so beautiful.
