00:00 Autoimmune disorders affect thousands of Americans each year and can make those affected feel
00:07 lonely or isolated.
00:09 Well that's why we have our next guest, Noelle Creamer, here to talk about her company, Brightly
00:14 Thrive.
00:15 Welcome Noelle, thanks for being here.
00:16 Thank you, thank you so much for having me.
00:18 So I do want to talk before we get into Brightly Thrive about just autoimmune disorders in
00:24 general because I think a lot of people don't know what constitutes an autoimmune disease.
00:29 Sure, so really autoimmunity in a nutshell is really when your immune system mistakenly
00:35 starts to attack healthy tissues and healthy cells in the body and it can start to appear
00:42 really anywhere in the body, any part of the system, any part of the body's mechanisms,
00:48 the organs and so this is why we have over 100 different types of autoimmune diseases
00:55 that exist.
00:56 So a lot of, you know, I just read a recent statistic that less than 6% of Americans can
01:02 name an autoimmune disease.
01:05 So I'm really thrilled to be here today in the home stretch of March being able to talk
01:10 about autoimmune awareness.
01:12 So different diseases like MS, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, you know, even celiac, even type
01:19 1 diabetes is autoimmune in nature.
01:21 Oh my goodness, see I didn't know that all of those different diseases all still constitute
01:26 as an autoimmune.
01:27 So like you were saying, March is autoimmune disorder awareness month.
01:31 So that's why you're here is to really talk about this and bring that awareness to this
01:37 myriad of disorders that can affect people and so many people are affected.
01:41 But what you do is really, really special with Brightly Thrive.
01:45 Tell me a little bit about your company.
01:47 Sure, so Brightly Thrive, first and foremost, we're a community, the autoimmunity community
01:52 as our tagline implies, and we are a virtual space and a social app exclusively for people
02:00 dealing with autoimmune conditions and autoimmune health.
02:04 It is a place where our members can connect with each other, they can connect with a team
02:09 of health and wellness experts and providers, they can share their stories and their experiences,
02:16 and most importantly, they can get support.
02:19 And that is so, so, so important because as you were naming off that list of conditions
02:24 and things that people experience, oh my gosh, there is so much that people are going through.
02:30 And maybe the people next to you in your immediate family, they don't know what you're walking
02:34 through but that's why your community is so special because there are so many other people
02:39 out there who are experiencing the exact same thing and you're bringing them together to
02:42 find that community.
02:44 That's right.
02:45 That's really, really cool.
02:46 So I know that you personally, if you don't mind talking about this, launched Brightly
02:51 Thrive because you yourself experienced something along these lines.
02:54 Correct, yes.
02:55 I was unfortunately diagnosed with an autoimmune disease back in 2018, a pretty severe and
03:03 scary autoimmune disease and I was told that I would have this forever.
03:09 I would be put on some pretty heavy dose medications forever and like any strong, determined, you
03:15 know, woman, I took matters into my own hands and started to go down the research and really
03:21 started to learn about how to heal my body and support my health and make some changes.
03:26 And you know, I'm happy to say that today I'm healthy and thriving, so to speak.
03:32 But it was a very long process and it was a very lonely, isolating road to get there.
03:38 And so really, essentially, Brightly Thrive is that community that I wish existed back
03:44 six years ago when I was first diagnosed.
03:46 You were like, "I want this, so I'm just going to create it."
03:49 I'm going to create it, yes.
03:50 And you and your partner, Cassie, did just that.
03:52 And what's really cool about Brightly Thrive is you bring the community, the outlet for
03:56 people, but also a lot of resources for people as well, a lot of knowledge.
04:00 Yes, we have tons of knowledge.
04:03 Our experts, our health and wellness experts, known as the Thrive Guides, they facilitate
04:07 daily live sessions within our community, within the app, so people can jump on, you
04:12 know, right at their fingertips through their phone if they want and connect with our experts.
04:17 We have lots of education, lots of fun challenges and different unique experiences, all meant
04:22 to bring people together to be able to share our stories, talk about our experiences, and
04:27 most of all, to heal.
04:30 Definitely.
04:31 What a great thing.
04:32 I love this concept.
04:33 I love what you're doing with Brightly Thrive.
04:34 Noel, thank you for being here today.
04:36 And if you are experiencing something along those lines and you want to be a part of this
04:41 community, all the information was right there on your screen.
04:44 Thank you so much for sharing with us.
04:45 Thank you, Lexi.
04:45 - Thank you, Lexi.
