Ready Bat | Baseball Mom Creates Protective Bat Handle Covers
Tempe mom Tori Hauser learned the hard way that the bats her son carried in his pack to practice stick out and can easily ding and bonk everything from cars, walls, windows and heads. She started Ready Bat and designed a bat handle cover to make her Baseball Mom life easier. The cover is made from a no-slip material and a zipper helps get it on and off quickly. A clip secures it to a backpack and can also hang in the dugout and batting cages. Ready Bat comes in a variety of color combinations. Prices start at $14.99 for one cover and $24.99 for a 2 pack. 00:00 >> Hey, Lexi, you might be to the point, almost getting to the point, not yet, where Arlo is going to want to do a little league baseball.
00:08 And if that's the case, you don't want him banging up that car, especially the Tesla, if you have one.
00:12 >> My Cybertruck.
00:13 >> There you go.
00:14 So we talked to a mom and son team who is fixing that problem.
00:18 Take a look.
00:19 [ Music ]
00:29 Hey, batta, batta, batta, batta, don't swing and please stop hitting my car with your bat.
00:36 That is what Tori has been saying to her kids.
00:39 And with that said, you said, you know what, I need to come up with something so I do save not just my car, but other people's cars too.
00:46 And that is where the Ready Bat comes into play.
00:50 Let's talk about -- this is pretty cool.
00:52 Where did you get this idea besides what I just said?
00:55 >> Yeah, so I actually was, you know, taking Liam's baseball stuff and putting them in the car and taking them out of the car and dinging the side of my new car.
01:06 So I actually went on the Internet to try and find something to cover the end of his bat so I could avoid doing that.
01:13 And I couldn't find anything so I invented something.
01:16 >> I like this.
01:17 And what happens, it slides over the bat, of course, and it can come off very easy, ready for them to play.
01:25 And the best part is, as you said, it's there so it doesn't ding things.
01:29 >> Right.
01:30 The best part is that it's there to not ding things, but I also designed it with this hook on top so that you can hang it on the fence or in storage in off season.
01:42 And, yeah, it also protects from heads being bonked, you know, because they got these in their backpacks and they're, like, swinging their bags around and bonking each other in the head.
01:52 So this gives it a little cushion to avoid doing that.
01:55 >> And you said perfectly, because I'm going to have Liam turn around, because this is how we see the bag is.
01:59 The bag's here.
02:00 Without the -- you do have the bags, you know, kind of like not protecting the area that usually will hit the car.
02:05 >> Exactly, yes.
02:06 >> And what people have to realize, too, is that when they do dent not just the car, it's denting also the bat, too.
02:11 >> Yeah, some of these bats are really expensive.
02:13 Like, one of your bats was probably a couple hundred dollars.
02:16 So it keeps --
02:18 >> $400?
02:19 >> Yeah.
02:20 >> Wow.
02:21 >> So it keeps that from, you know, being dented and keeping it in good condition.
02:25 >> And this is great.
02:26 I think it always takes a mom at baseball to come up with some great ideas with this one.
02:30 But I love that you are part of this because you were the inspiration because you've dinged the car a couple times, or she has.
02:37 And you've been, like, oh, pretty much both of us have, right?
02:40 >> Yeah, yeah.
02:41 >> And does this mess up your game at all?
02:43 Because I know people say, oh, putting something on the bat might hurt or anything like that.
02:46 But, no, this helps your game a little bit, too, right?
02:48 >> No, because putting it on the bat, usually you should take it off before swinging because, first of all, you don't want to damage it.
02:56 And, second of all, like, it's way better because it's not -- you're not going to have a lot of grip when you're holding it and you're hitting it.
03:04 >> Yeah.
03:05 So it's much better like that.
03:06 Also, too, you help sell these, right?
03:08 Because right now you guys are doing them at different ball games, huh?
03:10 >> Yeah, we go to opening game day sales, and I'm the salesperson, usually.
03:17 >> Yeah, I like that.
03:18 So in between playing, he's the salesperson, which is so cute.
03:21 What I also like, too, is that you can customize these for families and for teams.
03:26 >> Yes, I can put names of teams.
03:28 Like, he has the Cobras on that cover.
03:32 Some people have their kids' names put on them.
03:35 I have a coach that has his name on it so he can identify it and, you know, the kids don't grab his bat instead of their own.
03:43 Yeah, and then, actually, Liam also helped design some of the new patterns that we have.
03:48 I think he chose the stars pattern that you have in your hand right there.
03:52 >> That's -- I like that.
03:54 And this is what's so important is that it's about coming up with great ideas for you guys to get involved.
03:59 What I love, too, is that probably there's other moms out there thinking of ideas.
04:04 How hard was this for you to come up with this idea?
04:07 >> Well, I actually have a design background.
04:09 I'm a graphic designer, and I've been in design for 20 years.
04:13 So I've been helping a lot of other companies and businesses do their own branding and their own sales.
04:19 So it kind of came naturally to me.
04:23 So I don't know.
04:25 It was pretty simple design.
04:27 I got -- I made a prototype originally out of a beer bottle koozie and kind of, like, sewed that together to see how it would work.
04:36 And then I got with a manufacturer, and they helped me, like, tweak the design so it fit more closely onto the bat.
04:44 >> I like this.
04:45 It is Ready Bat, and you can go onto their website to find out where you can catch them because they're also available at --
04:51 >> They're available on Amazon and readybat.com and also opening days for Little Leagues at the moment.
04:57 >> There it is.
04:58 And we have information on azdailymix.com on how you can find them.
