00:00 Howdy, thank you for joining us. First of all, what a win and what a moment for yourself,
00:07 your first goal in professional football. I can imagine you're over the moon right now.
00:11 Yeah, struggling to put into words. So excited, it's been a long time coming. It's been a
00:16 tough season for me personally with injuries and stuff, but to get my first league goal
00:21 in that manner as well, crucial three points, yeah, buzzing, buzzing.
00:26 It feels like a long, long time ago where a lot of the people in this room were standing
00:31 pitchside at Sutton in the Bristol Street Modes Trophy where you just made your first
00:37 appearance for the club. As you say, since then it's obviously been tough, you've had
00:42 a few injuries to deal with, you've had to wait your time, but it must make it all worth
00:46 it now in this moment.
00:47 Oh, 100%. Yeah, from Sutton to now, as you said, it's been tough in and out of the squad.
00:55 So, it's a relief for me personally to get that goal because I have been putting pressure
01:01 on myself to get my goal and for it to finally come now. It feels great. So, yeah, now, proper
01:07 excited, honestly, best feeling. It's the best feeling, yeah.
01:11 Yeah, and it must be great because, obviously, as you say, you've had to wait your time.
01:16 You've been thrown out in the last minutes of the games and you've been making a real
01:21 impact, but sometimes it's not always necessarily chasing a win, it's always defending the win
01:26 that we've already taken. So, it must be nice to be on the other side of that, chasing a
01:31 win, and as you say, getting that winning goal, it must give you some real confidence.
01:35 Yeah, yeah, definitely. As you said, I've been coming on for small parts of the game
01:39 towards the end and Gaffer told me to obviously come on and make an impact and I felt like
01:44 I owed the team, the fans, so I swear I went on and did. Yeah, it was tough but I definitely
01:53 enjoyed it, helping my teammates out to get the win.
01:57 Yeah, not only your first goal in professional football, your first season in professional
02:00 football as well, as Scott mentioned in his interview. Firstly, how have you found it
02:05 and how enjoyable has it been being part of a team that's been so successful, especially
02:09 in recent weeks and is doing so well?
02:12 No, it's been great. It's been a great experience, especially coming from one league to obviously
02:17 a professional game. I've had to pick up a lot of things, learn a lot of things on the
02:21 way but I've really enjoyed it. Yeah, it's definitely been a learning experience for
02:28 me as a whole this season so far. I just want to pick up more, keep on going, working hard
02:33 in training, putting my head down, doing what I need to do for the team.
02:37 Yeah, you've had some great people to learn off. Obviously, we've got some very senior
02:40 figures in the group, even some of the younger lads who have gained so much experience in
02:44 this season and seasons previous, obviously, the manager as well. So for you, it must have
02:48 been the perfect environment to come in with your first season and it shows, doesn't it?
02:52 Because as Scott said, there's a lot of credit that has to go to you from coming from the
02:57 level that you did to this and making the leap and looking so natural out there.
03:01 Yeah, no, it's great. Obviously, I wasn't the only one that came from the league. There's
03:06 about five of us so that made it easier. We could all relate to the transition sort of
03:10 thing so it's been easier to get through it. It's been a smooth one. Obviously, as you
03:18 said, I'm comfortable out there. This is a level that I can play at week in, week out.
03:23 Yeah, it's only up from here, isn't it? I suppose, obviously, scoring your first goal,
03:27 you certainly would have been pressed to get it tonight. So naturally, you're obviously
03:31 going to get more and more minutes, I suppose. It's almost too harsh on you that the team
03:34 are doing so well because the gaffer has given you the reluctance to change anything but
03:37 from now on, it can only go up from here as well, can't it?
03:41 Yeah, definitely. Me and the gaffer have had conversations leading up to this week just
03:47 about my impact on the game. We've spoken about that and taken that away and tried to
03:53 make a difference. Those words definitely did help. I can't wait to make more of an
04:00 impact and hopefully start some games. See you all the way through to the season.
04:04 Hi Eddie, that's on the goal. Just tell us how good does that moment feel when you see
04:11 the ball hit the back of the neck so late on in the game to win such a crucial game?
04:14 How does that feel as a player?
04:16 Honestly, I can't describe it. It's been so long since I've actually scored a goal in
04:22 a Leicester game. To see it go in the corner of the goal is crazy because I've even gone
04:28 wayside to celebrate. I was that excited. I can't really describe it. It's just a crazy
04:34 feeling.
04:35 What were your instructions when you came on other than to score?
04:41 The gaffer told me to get the full-back running ragged because we could see from the side
04:48 that they were tied. When I came in, they had 10 men I think, so that made it even easier
04:53 for us. Just the power pressure on that side of the pitch was my instruction and I felt
04:58 like I did that.
04:59 What's it been like to work under Scott Lindsay as a manager? How much has he helped you as
05:03 a player to develop?
05:05 It's been great. It's been a great experience. He brought me in. He had a lot of faith and
05:10 trust in me. I feel like I owe him to bring that performance and play for him week in
05:16 week out because he has a lot of trust in me. I'm really appreciative of the opportunities
05:21 he's given me because he didn't have to give it to me. I really appreciate that.
05:24 The play-offs are not too far away. It's a realistic aim at this point. How exciting
05:30 is that as a player to have that real motivation for these final games of the season?
05:34 It's definitely exciting. As you can see in the league, everyone's close. To be fighting
05:39 for something at this late stage of the season, in my first season as well, it's proper exciting.
05:44 Everyone's up for it and all buzzing to push for the play-offs.
05:49 Yeah.
05:50 Perfect, thank you very much.
05:51 Perfect.
