00:00 The 10th Southern Gas Corridor and 2nd Green Energy Advisory Council ministerial meetings
00:06 have taken place in Baku in Azerbaijan.
00:10 High on the agenda was the exploration of united goals to ensure long-term energy security,
00:16 diversification of supply, as well as a transition to green and renewable energy.
00:21 We do it not because we lack traditional resources, but because we want to contribute using the
00:29 financing, using the revenues which we get from oil and gas sales to invest in renewables
00:36 and to create a common understanding about the need for that.
00:42 The strategic energy partnership between Azerbaijan and the EU was also discussed, along with
00:48 the achievements and next steps in the operation and development of the Southern Gas Corridor.
00:55 Azerbaijan last year increased their gas exports by 9 percent, up to 22 billion cubic
01:00 meters.
01:01 Currently, their main buyers in Europe include Italy, Greece, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria.
01:09 There are many new partner countries who are willing to receive even additional volumes
01:16 of natural gas, despite the fact that we are transitioning away from fossil fuels, but
01:23 this takes some decades.
01:25 Now we want to well establish also the future-proof cooperation.
01:30 And that collaboration across the industry is seen by many as a key to its further development
01:35 for the foreseeable future.
01:37 And--
