00:33 We're located in Whitehorse, Yukon.

00:37 Our yields are constant every week,
00:42 unlike traditional agriculture.
00:44 We can therefore plan the necessary manpower
00:47 and sell it for a stable harvest of 450 kilos every week.

00:58 Our customers are Yukon people
01:00 who want fresh vegetables and food,
01:03 ideally produced within a 100-kilometer radius.
01:06 I would say that for restaurants,
01:08 the fact that the products are harvested the day we deliver
01:12 makes a big difference.

01:17 It's mostly the First Nations communities.
01:23 They often buy a system or collaborate with us
01:28 to put it in place in their communities.
01:31 It contributes to the sustainable aspect of their communities
01:34 and creates employment while encouraging local initiatives.
01:38 In 2021, a unit was installed in Unuvik
01:42 in the Northwest Territories.
01:44 They now produce vegetables all year
01:47 in a place that was previously impossible to grow.

01:54 We try to consider the whole food system of a community,
02:00 not just one aspect.
02:02 When designing a system for a northern community,
02:05 you have to think about the size of the community
02:07 and its objectives.
02:08 We want to adjust the dimensions
02:10 to be able to feed the community effectively
02:12 without overproducing.
02:14 When we sell a system to a community,
02:16 the person in charge of its operation comes to Coldacre
02:19 and works on our farm for two weeks
02:21 or as long as they need to be able to
02:24 effectively operate their own farm.

02:30 We're proud to say that almost all of what comes out of our farm
02:35 can be composted in the right installations.
02:38 With a container hydroponic system,
02:41 you don't have to clear large areas of land.
02:44 In addition, the food is produced on site.
02:47 No need to bring it in by truck.
02:49 We have organic waste, a slight loss of heat,
02:53 and a very, very small amount of water that gets lost.
02:56 Most of the water that gets lost
02:59 is the one that's absorbed by our plants.
03:01 And we have to rinse our tanks once a month
03:04 or every two months to give them a good clean.
03:07 Otherwise, we don't really generate any more waste.
