00:00 Hi, I'm Aaron Smith, I'm a Launceston examiner.
00:02 We're here at the mall to ask people on the street about the upcoming election
00:06 and what the most important issue is for parties and candidates to be focused on.
00:10 I think the most important thing would be the economy at the moment
00:15 and everyone struggling to make ends meet.
00:18 And the cost of living is so high, so we need to focus on that, I think.
00:25 I feel like the cost of living is probably the most important thing.
00:31 Yeah, we're really struggling at the moment being a young family
00:35 with a mortgage and groceries, so I would say the cost of living is easily the most important thing.
00:40 Health and education, I think, are the top priorities.
00:47 And why do you think that?
00:49 Because if you've got your health, you're fine, and education helps you to get jobs and have a career.
00:58 I think probably the biggest thing is we have such a huge amount of unemployment.
01:05 We've got people that are living below our poverty line
01:08 and I think that we need to band together and possibly help each other out a little bit more than what we do.
01:13 And I think that they really need to hear what the people need and what they want
01:17 instead of just assuming and taking everyone else's.
01:20 They need to really listen to the community and what it is that affects us.
