00:00I think it's great to see so many people involved, people willing to give a donation if they can't
00:05actually relay, and seeing people get together. It means a heck of a lot, mainly because I suppose
00:13having been through cancer journey myself twice, plus my husband who I lost earlier this year,
00:20it was related to the cancer although it wasn't cancer itself, so Relay for Life is very meaningful.
00:26The community spirit, it reaches everybody because it doesn't matter who you are you can
00:31relay, whether it's for a small amount of time or a larger amount of time,
00:35it's the team spirit, everybody working together and just seeing some of my relay team members who
00:42got alongside others walking on the track and just talking to them, so it's a real community spirit.
00:48I just think it's amazing that such a small state like Tasmania can keep such a big fundraising
00:52event going for so long. Obviously it'd be great to get to 50 years and 100 years,
00:57I won't be on the committee then, but it would be great to get more volunteers so that we can
01:00keep doing it every year. Yeah I just want everyone to come and know that not only are
01:03we fundraising money that stays in Tasmania, it's actually a really fun day, so we just
01:07want to get as many people involved as we can.
