Pakistani politician and former captain, Imran Khan had a poor run in the 70s averaging 22.4 with the bat and 31.8 with the ball in 25 matches. But the 1980s Test cricket saw a drastic change in Khan’s stats, He averaged 44.1 as a batter and 19.1 as a bowler, in 54 games. If this wasn’t enough he came out of retirement in 1988 and led a young and inexperienced Pakistan team in the 1992 World Cup taking them to victory at the age of 40. Winning the mega event also helped him fulfill his dream of building the first-ever cancer hospital in the country.
