00:02 Five days.
00:03 This is the time frame given by some 300 Grab delivery riders
00:08 for the tech giant to resolve issues affecting them.
00:12 The delivery riders, who made their demands at a protest
00:15 in front of Grab's headquarters today,
00:17 want the company to reinstate their base delivery fare.
00:21 The five ringgit fare for deliveries within the Klang Valley
00:24 was reduced to four ringgit earlier this week.
00:27 The delivery riders took issue with the reduction
00:30 because they said the previous fare was already low.
00:33 At the protest, Persatuan Penghantar Pihiling Malaysia representatives
00:38 met with Grab's management to relay the delivery riders' demands.
00:42 The association's vice president, Abdul Hakim Abdul Rani, said
00:46 besides reinstating the base fare,
00:48 they want Grab to maintain pickup bonuses for riders.
00:52 He said if Grab fails to address the issues within five days,
00:56 they will hold another protest involving more riders next week.
01:00 In response, Grab said it recognizes the riders' concerns
01:04 and is working to address them.
