00:00 A lot of people will make excuses for the ones that do know there is cruelty in milk,
00:08 but they'll say Lord Krishna had it or its traditions.
00:11 Please you have to understand, Lord Krishna consuming milk in his childhood, in his childhood,
00:18 only in his childhood.
00:21 Do you hear or read of him consuming milk after he was grown up?
00:25 First question.
00:26 Second thing, when you have an avatar, that avatar is constrained by the limits and conditions
00:42 and conventions of his time and age.
00:48 So he was born in, not really born, brought up in a clan of cow keepers, cattle rearers.
01:02 That was the profession that entire neighborhood was following, right?
01:10 And Balakrishna is just a little baby.
01:13 He will do what the entire surrounding is doing and he will wear what everybody else
01:19 is wearing.
01:22 So saying that little Krishna used to drink milk is just like saying that little Krishna
01:32 used to wear the costumes of his time.
01:37 Just as he is bound to wear the costumes of his time, similarly as long as he is little,
01:44 he is bound to follow the customs of his time.
01:48 We are talking about avatar.
01:50 We are not talking about Atma or Brahm or Satya here and all the avatars are definitely
01:59 limited by the conditions of their time.
02:04 It is believed that you take birth, sambhavami yuge yuge, you take birth in a particular
02:13 milieu and if you are taking birth in a particular milieu, of course you don't expect Krishna
02:18 to walk around in western formals.
02:21 He will wear what they did, his parents and relatives and the entire area and he will
02:27 speak the language that they spoke.
02:30 Just as he would speak the language as was spoken by the people of his time, similarly
02:37 as long as he is young, he will follow the customs of the people of his time because
02:45 the avatar is not supposed to be perfect in the first place.
02:50 The avatar is not purna satya.
02:55 The avatar is not even supposed to be the perfect truth.
03:00 Since the avatar is embodied, the avatar has come to be born, so he is supposed to have
03:08 the bearings, attributes, characteristics of his particular time and age.
03:14 That is the reason, now does he play the violin?
03:19 He plays the flute.
03:21 Why the flute and why not the violin?
03:25 Does he speak French?
03:27 He speaks the language of that place and time.
03:29 Now why doesn't he speak French?
03:32 Because he was born at a place where there was no French.
03:36 He was born at a place where there was no violin.
03:40 If an avatar today takes birth in France, he will probably play the piano and speak
03:50 French.
03:51 So these are time bound attributes.
03:55 These are not to be taken as timeless.
03:57 These depend on the time in which the avatar was born.
04:02 That is the reason why different avatars show different characteristics.
04:06 Now truth is one, then why are the characteristics of the different avatars so much at variance
04:12 with each other?
04:13 Somebody is very composed, somebody talks in one way, somebody wears one kind of attire,
04:18 somebody is carrying around in another way.
04:22 Why are such variations seen?
04:25 Because those are the variations of the time and place of their birth, Desh-Kaal.
04:32 They are not variations in the truth.
04:35 Now what depended on a certain time and place must be left to that time and place.
04:42 What is it that must be carried forward?
04:45 That which is timeless.
04:47 Eating habits, sartorial habits, linguistic preferences, where do all these come from?
04:57 They come from that geography and that age.
05:02 And geography and age are not timeless.
05:07 They are limited.
05:09 Such habits, such characteristics belong only to that period and must not be carried forward
05:16 to the coming centuries.
05:18 What is it then that must be carried forward to the coming centuries up to time eternity?
05:26 The Bhagavad Gita.
05:28 Because in that you have something which time can never bismayor or blemish.
