00:00 [INAUDIBLE]
00:09 I don't need the microphone for this.
00:11 Please welcome our next head football coach, Jack Pitt.

00:19 [APPLAUSE]
00:23 Well, thank you.
00:41 It's a little unique.
00:42 The last time I had a press conference to be a head coach,
00:46 it was on Zoom during COVID.
00:49 So it didn't look anything like this.
00:51 And this is special.
00:53 But it's also special because of where we are
00:57 and who we're with and the people that
00:59 are surrounding us today.
01:02 The views are incredible.
01:03 The building is beautiful.
01:05 And being here in Seattle is awfully special.
01:09 I want to start by this.
01:10 Today is a special day and a culmination of 23 yards--
01:14 23 years of hard work.
01:17 Today is a day filled with emotions, though,
01:19 because it represents a new beginning.
01:22 Rarely in life does one have to leave someone or something
01:26 that they love.
01:28 But 48 hours ago, that is something
01:30 that my family and I did.
01:33 We did it so we could join the Husky family.
01:36 I'm excited to be part of this university.
01:39 And my wife, Amber, our daughters, Ashley,
01:42 Kendall, Zaley, who's not here, are all just as excited to be
01:47 a part of this vibrant community.
01:50 And we want to thank you, Troy, for bringing us here.
01:54 President Calzei, thank you.
01:56 Thank you for that phone call on Sunday.
01:59 And I just appreciate you guys for believing in us.
02:03 We are here for the W--
02:05 the W for winning, the W for work, and the W for Washington.
02:11 And we will give it everything we have.
02:13 Sustained success is critical in college football.
02:18 The ability to each and every year compete for championships,
02:23 the ability for each and every year
02:26 to be able to be at the top of your conference,
02:28 at the top of the nation.
