00:00 We are of course in the middle of the January transfer window at the moment
00:04 and for United it's been quite a busy window so far you have to say and on
00:08 Thursday there was news of a fourth deal which has gone through involving
00:12 Manchester United players and the first one being Donny van de Beek who moved to
00:16 Eintracht Frankfurt on loan. Sergio Reguilón of course is headed back to
00:21 Tottenham and cancelling or cutting short his loan move at United while there
00:25 was a final move as well earlier in the window with Charlie McNeil returning
00:29 from a loan at Stevenage. But the fourth move the big one Jadon Sancho the one we
00:33 were all expecting of course we all know what's going on with Sancho and
00:36 ten Hagen and the falling out that they've had. I think for everyone it's a
00:40 good move really Dortmund get a good player who they will hope will help
00:43 guide them towards success both domestically and in Europe in the second
00:47 half of the season. For United they get a significant wage bill at least
00:52 partially off their books for the time being. They probably are going to put him
00:57 back in the shop window and hope that his performances can attract interested
01:00 buyers in the summer and of course it means that they don't have him kind of
01:04 moping around the club at the moment. So the initial deal is a 3.5 million
01:09 euro fee that Dortmund are going to pay. That could rise up to 7.5 million based
01:15 on various add-ons United being very vague on what exactly they are but we do
01:20 know that if they pay all the full 7.5 million euro fee and
01:26 actually it will have fully covered Jadon Sancho's loan wages for that period
01:30 which is certainly something United are keen to do. We know there's no option
01:35 to buy at the moment as well so that's quite an interesting angle at the
01:40 moment and of course I think United will already be thinking of the summer
01:43 and what the plans are for Jadon Sancho. Elsewhere there's a lot of talk about
01:47 Hannibal and Fekundo Palistri. I mean I think that ten Hagen is certainly
01:52 willing to let both players leave on loan. I don't think he sees him as
01:55 long-term parts of his plan anyway and there's every chance that even if they
01:58 don't go in January I don't think they have a long-term future and could be off
02:01 in the summer. So I mean Everton are certainly looking into Hannibal. He's a
02:06 player that they are interested in but there's various reports saying that
02:09 Sevilla are close to wrapping up a deal for him. In terms of Palistri he's been linked
02:14 with quite a few clubs as well. I saw PSV this week but I would not be surprised
02:18 at all if both players do head out on loan in the coming weeks of the
02:22 window which will have secured or moved about some finances for United because United
02:27 financially at the moment are finding things really difficult due to FFP and
02:31 haven't spent a lot of money in the last two summers. Obviously you've got INEOS
02:35 and everything that's going on in the background and the fact that any major
02:38 decisions would have to be run by them. So for a number of reasons I don't
02:42 think we're going to be expecting a major signing in January but what we do perhaps
02:47 have the option for United is they could look to the loan market. They would like
02:51 I think to add a centre-back and a striker. I think centre-back is more of a
02:55 long-term thing. Certainly striker they are in desperate need of options. Anthony
02:58 Martial is a player they would probably like to move on if possible in the
03:02 January window but it's just whether they can get a buyer. His contract has
03:05 had to expire in the summer. I don't expect they're going to take the option
03:08 to extend it. He's a player who offers very little in this team and has spent
03:12 over a month out through illness so you know it wouldn't surprise me if he has
03:17 actually played his last Manchester United game and if they can try and move
03:19 him on in January that would be ideal I think from a United perspective. But as
03:24 I say loans could be what they look to bring in in terms of January. I
03:28 think obviously that's what they did last year when they brought in Jack
03:31 Butlin, Marcel Savitzer and Vauvegheors. There's a bit of a stopgap
03:36 at the moment and certainly the case last year but it'd be the same again
03:39 this year. A bit of a stopgap to help them just get into the summer and while
03:42 you know a lot of people be critical of Manchester United's recruitment policy
03:45 and rightly so I think that this January window it does feel right that they can
03:49 just kind of you know buy their time until the summer and when in the also
03:52 fully in and then they can really take the reins of the football operation and
03:55 look to create and construct a real transfer plan going into the summer. But
04:00 yeah as I say it's been a relatively busy start in what it tends to normally
04:04 be a relative pretty quiet window I always think but four moves in some
04:09 description already through I think there'll be a few more and I think United
04:12 fans will certainly be looking and hoping that they get a loan signing in.
