00:00Ruben Amarim has reiterated that he wants Marcus Rashford to stay at the club after
00:06the 27-year-old striker admitted that he is ready for a new challenge in his career. Rashford,
00:12who has been at Manchester United since he was a seven-year-old, spoke to journalist
00:17Henry Winter earlier in the week and admitted that he could be ready for a new challenge
00:21after he was omitted from the Manchester United squad for their Manchester derby victory over
00:26City at the weekend. United insist that Rashford, along with fellow striker Alejandro Garnaccio,
00:32were both left out of the derby day win simply because of their training performances. They
00:37insist it was not a disciplinary issue. Nonetheless, that has sparked fresh speculation over Rashford's
00:43future, something that he then fired and fuelled even more when he spoke to Henry Winter at
00:48an event on Tuesday, saying that he could leave the club in the future. United are keeping
00:54their cards close to their chest. Amarim insists that he still has a place in the Manchester
00:58United squad right now. He described him as a top talent at his latest press conference
01:04ahead of the Carabao Cup quarter-final with Tottenham Hotspur. In terms of what's next,
01:10Rashford and Garnaccio could both be involved for United when they take on Tottenham on
01:14Thursday night. But in terms of the long-term future, Manchester United have a real big
01:18decision to make. We understand that if an appropriate offer came in, Manchester United
01:23wouldn't stand in the way of Marcus Rashford. From a financial point of view, it's difficult
01:29to say what his valuation is right now. He's not been very good for the last 18 months.
01:34But in terms of a PSR perspective, he would count as pure profit on Manchester United's
01:40balance books. There is an incentive there to sell Marcus Rashford due to his status
01:44as an academy graduate. He is believed to be open to a move if the offers come about.
01:50But once again, it's just a case of who can afford not only his transfer fee, but his
01:54hefty wages as well. It's hard to see too many sides in the Premier League who can afford
01:58him right now. Similarly, Italian clubs, Spanish clubs are unlikely to be able to afford Marcus
02:03Rashford. PSG are a team who have long been linked with a move for him, but they're not
02:07understood to be currently interested in a move. Bundesliga alone would probably be the
02:12more acceptable manner for them to buy him. They don't have too much money, Bayern and
02:17Dortmund to buy him outright, which leaves Saudi Arabia probably the most likely if he
02:22was to go on leave in January and MLS somewhere where he would like to play in the future.
02:27But right now in his career, it seems like it might be a bit too early for that to come.
02:31So United could sell Marcus Rashford. They say that there's still a role for him at the
02:36club if he wants it. And it's very difficult to see any team affording him in the coming
02:40weeks. But this is one to keep an eye on. As we said, the latest on Marcus Rashford
02:44is that Ruben Amorim believes he's a top talent and he's someone who can still be involved
02:48in his Manchester United squad.
