A look at the current managerial situation at MUFC.
Transcript
00:00So, Michael, looking at Manchester United, and obviously, you know, as we've seen in
00:06the past with their sacking of a manager, there's quite a lot of whirlwinds going on.
00:10Where are we with the timeline? You know, we have obviously Van Nistrooyen and Amaroum
00:15is confirmed. What's the sort of timeline going on in terms of Manchester United at
00:20the moment?
00:21Yeah, well, it's a very, very funny timeline, a peculiar timeline, I suppose, for a manager
00:27starting and for a manager leaving his position, because we're speaking on Monday after the
00:32game against Chelsea. And Ruben Amerin is going to do a press conference in Lisbon today
00:37with several members of the Manchester press pack there, obviously, because they play Manchester
00:43City tomorrow in the Champions League. So quite a few of my colleagues are out there
00:46and we'll have a couple of questions for them about, well, probably not about the upcoming
00:50game, that's for sure. So that's on Monday. On Tuesday is the game against Manchester
00:54City, which will be an interesting game and an interesting opportunity for him to show
00:59his early credentials, I suppose, particularly that City have got so many injuries at the
01:03moment that I think that there's every chance he can get a result against City personally.
01:07And on the Wednesday, we've got Ruben Nistrooyen in a pre-match press conference ahead of United's
01:12Europa League game. We were just discussing, is it Pauk or is it PA? OK, but the Greek
01:17side that they play on Thursday night. And then obviously, we've got the games this weekend.
01:23It involved playing Leicester City on Sunday, Ruben Nistrooyen's final game in charge in
01:28that interim spell. And then on Monday, the 11th of November, we've got Ruben Amiran starting
01:34his first day as Manchester United manager. I'll be interested to see what sort of media
01:40coverage that gets, certainly internal media. I'm sure they will do something, probably
01:45an interview behind the scenes of his first day. But I think fans tend to be more interested
01:50in the external media coverage and willing to do a press conference, for instance, as
01:54Eric ten Haag did when he started as manager. There's that two-week spell, so there's plenty
01:59of time to do it with the international break. And then 13 days after he starts his job,
02:05after his first day, Ruben Amiran's first game comes against Ipswich Town away on the
02:1023rd of November. So that's a kind of a, what, a three-week timeline between now and then,
02:16between him leaving sporting, starting United and having his first game. But yeah, plenty
02:20of interesting things going on in that time period.
