An update on the takeover front.

00:00 And just some updates on the takeover situation at the club. I know we've spoke about it multiple
00:06 times. What's the latest you can tell us and try and sum it up and keep it short if you can.
00:11 Yeah, how long have you got? Well, we are approaching a year from the announcement
00:18 that the Glazers were exploring strategic alternatives and what that means and whether
00:26 they've come to a final conclusion and that we're not sure. But you know, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's offered
00:31 to buy 25% of the club. We are expecting to go through. There's a small chance it could be this
00:36 week. I think it's looking more likely next week. There were some suggestions it could have been
00:40 wrapped up Monday and it was postponed because of Sir Bobby John's funeral. I mean, that's never
00:44 going to happen this early this week. But I think we are getting to the stage now of dotting the
00:49 i's, crossing the t's really. And it's the final last little negotiations in this deal, which I
00:55 think we'll all be pleased when it gets announced. That certainly isn't the end of the story because
01:01 the deal will be agreed. Then it goes to the Premier League. It's got to be ratified. That
01:06 could take, I don't know how long. I mean, I was talking to Everton's situation with 777.
01:11 That's a much more complicated situation. But they agreed that their buyover or their takeover
01:19 in the middle of September. We are now in the middle of November and that's not completed yet.
01:23 So these things can take a while. I think there's hope at United that it'll be in place for the
01:28 start of January. I'm not totally sure if that'll be the case. Just my own personal opinion more
01:34 than anything. But we're seeing that one. But it looks like it's going to go through. Radcliffe
01:39 has already set aside funds from his own personal resources to invest into Old Trafford and the club
01:44 infrastructure to improve things. I think what a message that sends to United fans who have seen
01:51 the stadium fall more and more into disrepair over the last couple of years. It almost feels quite
01:56 metaphorical, symbolic. But he comes in and immediately gives the ground this facelift as
02:01 well. There are plans to utilise the space in and around Old Trafford. I think there's some hope of
02:07 a little bit of money in January. But it's a difficult window January as we all know. So
02:11 we're not totally sure at this stage. But I think the big news is that an agreement is close to being
02:16 agreed. But then we've obviously got the Premier League stuff. And I should probably add that after
02:20 the words. I mean, that's a 25% investment into the club. I think it's been 1.3 billion pound.
02:28 That will be the end of the story as well. Because then I mean, there's lots of talk about the fact
02:33 that he wants to eventually buy more shares off the Glazers. And that becomes complicated. And
02:38 there's more into that as well. So there's a lot more in this story to come really.
02:42 So yeah, you'll still be asking about this in four years time, I think.
