00:00 The local government of Baguio City declared the outbreak of gastroenteritis

00:20 In the official statement of the Department of Health,
00:25 the Ministry of Health is currently assisting the local government of Baguio
00:29 while experiencing an increase in cases of gastroenteritis.
00:33 This was after Mayor Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City declared
00:36 that there were outbreaks in his area
00:38 because of the more than 1,600 cases
00:40 and the number of cases of diabetes and diarrhea in Lunsoda.
00:45 There were also restaurants that were affected.
00:47 There were also households that were affected.
00:49 So with 1,609,
00:52 then I would like to declare, officially declare,
00:56 that we have an outbreak of gastroenteritis here.
01:00 According to the DOH, while the investigation is being conducted,
01:03 the affected areas will be treated with clean and potable water.
01:06 Along with the recommendation of the public
01:08 to boil the water for less than two minutes
01:11 or to use chlorine-based water disinfection solution
01:14 if available in health centers.
01:16 The public is also asking for a report immediately
01:19 if they see any changes in color or smell
01:22 in their water in the tap.
01:24 Meanwhile, Baguio City LGU is currently conducting
01:27 their containment, prevention, and investigation
01:30 in more than 80 establishments in Lunsoda
01:32 that are counted as households and restaurants.
01:35 Baguio Water District, City Health Office,
01:38 BGH Medical Center,
01:39 and Baguio City Police are also included as force multipliers.
01:42 We have three laboratories that are already operating.
01:47 First is here in Baguio Water District,
01:50 our laboratory in the City Health Office,
01:53 and BGH Medical Center.
01:56 So those three will help.
01:58 The local government of Baguio is calling on the public

02:03 to immediately consult a health center or medical center
