00:00 You know, this is something I slept on. I slept on, I gave it some time.
00:03 You know, I had people in my circle, you know, tell me, you know, whatever you feel is right.
00:07 You know, and I had nobody not pressure me on my decision.
00:10 This is really me just, you know, making the decision on my own and, you know,
00:12 trusting my work and trusting who I am as a person.
00:15 How many times did you settle on a different school and say, okay, that's it,
00:18 and then change your mind, say, no, that's it?
00:21 Man, a few times. I'm not even gonna lie. I did it a few times.
00:23 I was this close to going somewhere else. Very close.
00:29 And, you know, I just stayed with my gut, stayed with my work, and, you know, I just trust myself.
00:34 So, what did you contact Gonzaga in terms of, you know,
00:38 what were the announcements, how'd that come about?
00:40 I mean, you know, I told, you know, the schools, you know, that I wasn't, you know,
00:43 going to, you know, unfortunately go to their school, you know.
00:45 Some of them, you know, respect, most of them, most of them respected my decision.
00:49 You know, they all told me, like, you know, they, at the end of the day,
00:53 they know that I'm gonna make my decision on my own.
00:56 They know that, you know, I gotta make my own decision.
00:58 You know, they're gonna support me, and they appreciate me for, you know,
01:01 taking the time to, you know, give them a chance to recoup.
01:03 What was it you've looked across at UW with Corrin and Wesley Yates and Calum East?
01:09 How do you see yourself fitting in with that group?
01:11 Man, I see myself fitting in with those dudes. Wesley, Corrin, all the dudes you just named.
01:15 You know, I feel like coming in, just having a big impact,
01:18 big impact in that guard spot, and, you know, just, you know, just putting UW back on the map.
01:23 When did you know it was gonna be Washington,
01:24 and what kind of put it over the hump towards the end of the process?
01:27 Man, you know, I was going back and forth to Washington at another school,
01:30 but I knew it was gonna be Washington, like, three, four days ago.
01:33 You know, I just continued to sleep on it, and, you know, my feeling was the same.
01:38 And, you know, again, I just, you know, trust my gut, trust my work.
01:41 What were a few of you the most in Washington? Which coach made kind of closest, closest contact?
01:47 Coach Conroy. Coach Conroy was my lead recruiter.
01:49 Coach Hopps, you know, was calling me, you know, sending me funny videos of him working out.
01:54 Videos of him before game days, and, you know, you know, my relationship with him,
01:58 especially when I was on my visit. I just enjoyed it.
02:01 Coach Conroy talks about don't put, don't turn your back on Washington. Put Washington...
02:05 What is so special about playing in the state of Washington, being a kid from the state?
02:10 Man, you know, I feel like, you know, some, some, some people, you know,
02:13 give them a chance to stay home, you know. You know, you can go far and, you know,
02:17 go somewhere else, but, you know, why not just stay home and just represent,
02:21 you know, the place you've been at, you know, majority of your life or wherever you live,
02:25 and, you know, just having people that, you know, in your circle that are going to support you
02:29 and be behind you and just, I just feel like there's just no better feeling for that.
