00:00 What's going on everybody? Randall Sweet, AllSooners.com, here to talk to you today
00:03 about David Stone, member of OU's 2024 signing day class. Now David Stone is the
00:09 only five-star in OU's 2024 class, but he's a good one. From Dell City, Oklahoma
00:15 originally, coming to Norman by way of IMG Academy. Now David Stone is listed
00:21 about 6'4", 280 pounds. He's rated one of the top 10-15 prospects in the
00:26 country, depending on what recruiting service you follow. And he was a guy that
00:30 Brent Venables, that Todd Bates really zeroed in on as someone that they want
00:34 to take this defensive line group into the SEC. They want David Stone to be the
00:39 future leader of that group. Again, a guy who grew up in the Oklahoma City area. It
00:43 was a huge, huge check on Brent Venables and Todd Bates box to get David Stone
00:49 into this class. Now he's really good with his punch. So strong, so powerful.
00:54 When he hits that offensive lineman, they're gonna fall back a few steps,
00:56 especially in high school. I would expect that to continue in the SEC, especially
01:00 once he's able to get to Norman, work with Jerry Schmidt, get in that
01:03 strength and conditioning program. David Stone is such a talented player that I
01:07 think, despite some of the guys at OU coming back on the defensive line,
01:10 he'll be able to push for playing time early during his career in Norman. I
01:14 think that he'll definitely try to get on the field rotationally as a first
01:18 second-year guy, even in the SEC. He's that big, that strong, that powerful, that
01:23 athletic. And David Stone is the real type of program-changing defensive
01:27 lineman that you need when you're heading into the SEC, especially for your
01:31 first few seasons as an SEC program. And I think it also helps that he grew up
01:35 with fellow 2024 pledge we'll get to a little bit later, Mikel Patterson McDonald.
