00:24What's the process been like building rapport in chemistry with Jackson?
00:30Man, it's been nothing but great, man.
00:31He's very mature and beyond his age, honestly.
00:34He's just ready to go watch film.
00:36He may make a mistake and he's not hard on it.
00:39If I make a mistake, he's not hard on me.
00:40It's nothing personal, man.
00:41But he's a leader in the room and it's just a great thing to see.
00:44What does it mean for you just to get two touchdowns out here?
00:47First time getting to play in front of the fans and
00:49kind of just announce your arrival a little bit.

00:53It's just, you see the way it pays off and everything like that, man.

01:05Because when you showed up, you were better than advertised and

01:13Honestly, yes, it's plays out there I feel like I wish I could get back.
01:16I feel like it could have helped the team, honestly, been positive.

01:25I kind of let him down right there.
01:27But, man, I just wanted to come back and just make him proud.
01:29Deion, when did you come up with your celebration?

01:38How fun is this offense to play in?
01:40Man, it's a fun offense, man.
01:41You got everybody's together, man.
01:42It's just never really seen a locker room this much together like this.

01:51Is that something you hope will continue?

02:53It's just pretty much we've been watching on film, just trying to put it on tape.

03:16How scary is this wide receiver room?
03:18I mean, we didn't even see Jaleel or Nick Anderson.
03:22List goes on, Andrel is still out.
03:24Man, it's gonna be a great thing to see come far, man.
03:27You got all different types of skill sets, man.
03:29People that's 6'6", you got JG, man, that can go up and get it and stretch the field.
03:33You got Nick Anderson, man, he's good at his hips, man.
03:36He can go make a play, man.
03:37You got so much talent in the room, man, and it's a great thing to see.
03:39But I mean, we just have to keep building and get better.
03:42How much has Evan Jones helped you since you've been here?
03:44Man, he's been nothing but great, man.
03:45It's a standard, man.
03:46I'm just trying to just live to it and just learn how he coached and
03:49everything like that, but he's been nothing but great and everything he said is true.
03:52I know you haven't been here long, but
03:54what have you seen Jackson develop the most during your time here so far?
03:59I'm sorry, can you repeat that?
04:01Where have you seen Jackson, I guess, develop the most this spring?
04:05Most definitely, I would just say just being a leader, honestly.
04:08I feel like he took over that role.
04:09He know what role he's walking into.
04:11Obviously, he was a DG and everything like that.
04:14He just molded into a leader, to be honest.
04:16Come get the receiver groups, man, if you want to watch them,
04:19and he's just a great leader to me.
04:21How much will you guys work together this offseason or
04:23this summer big for kind of building that chemistry?
04:26Most definitely, just keep building on what we kind of did for spring and
04:29just try to get on the same page mentally, and
04:32just try to get them reps that we need.
04:34You excited for SEC play?
04:36Yeah, most definitely, I'm definitely excited for SEC.
04:38It's a great conference, but, man,
04:39I'm just focused on pretty much what we got here all year.
04:42You're doing a lot of things with you around that jet sweep, or what,
04:45I don't know if you call it that, but on the first play, and then screen passes,
04:49and short crosses, and the deep ball, that stuff.
04:53Does one set up the other?
04:54I mean, is it a case of people don't know what you're gonna be doing on any
04:57particular play?
04:58Yeah, I just kind of feel like it's a thing of what the defense present and
05:01give you.
05:01If they're playing a little bit soft leverage,
05:03I feel like you could try to hit them on the perimeter and get vertical and
05:06probably get about five to six yards.
05:08And if you get plus that, it's a great play.
05:09So I just feel like that's Seth Luttrell just trying to play with the defense and
05:13see and do what they give us.
05:14You mentioned that there.
05:15Have there been conversations between you and Coach Luttrell,
05:17just in terms of different ways to utilize you in the offense where you can
05:21find spots to be successful, stuff like that?
05:23Yeah, most definitely.
05:24There have definitely been talks between me and Coach Seth Luttrell.
05:27Pretty much just going to practice and just pretty much trying to find
05:30the green grass, just get used to the offense and stuff like that, and
05:33just kind of take over the role that Drake Stapes guy was in.
05:36How do you get the, I mean, you speak something pretty fast.
05:39I mean, you just got here a few months ago.
05:41How do you- I would say definitely just the team.
05:44We go over a lot of plays all the time.
05:47They're pretty much direct on what they want and what they need.
05:50And I just feel like just film studies, just being with JA, being with the staff and
05:53everything like that just kind of helped motivate me to the spot just to learn it.
05:56How much have you worked with Michael Hawkins?
05:58A lot, man.
05:59He's a great talent, man.
06:00Like, man, he could trust his feet, get it down there, man.
06:02He just played confidence.
06:03He's a little like a freshman to me.
06:04So, man, I respect every quarterback in the room.
06:07I respect General, man.
06:09So many people that's just with talent that could make plays,
06:12stuff like that, that I respect.
06:13It was great.
06:13What was your reaction on General's 30-yard touchdown?
06:16Man, he'd been doing it all spring.
06:18So it was just like, man, yep, there he go, right there.
06:19He's running with his feet.
06:20So it was a great day to see him.
06:22Deion, it's early, and fans will react how they may.
06:25It doesn't take much to get people excited around here.
06:27But how about the Blake McAuliffe Award?
06:29Is that a goal for you, something to strive toward as you're looking forward to
06:32this season?
06:33Yeah, it's definitely a goal of mine.
06:34It's definitely a goal of mine.
06:36I just want to just keep better in my craft and just hopefully get that.
06:39If I get there, then, man, it's a great thing to see.
06:42You got a number four, though.

06:58How much better can you get in the summer?
06:59Man, it could get a lot better, man.
07:01It's plays that we know that we probably missed out there,
07:04that we gotta correct on and stuff like that.
07:05But man, just building from here and what we did for spring,
07:08I feel like it's gonna be a great thing to come in the fall.
07:10Your thoughts on the talent that you have in the school back there,
07:13cuz that's gonna be important for you.
07:15What do you think about the overall talent from Jackson and those guys?
07:17Man, it's great, man.
07:18You got Jackson, you got Jermaine Booty, you got Michael Hawkins.
07:23Everybody that can play has still got Casey Thompson coming to fall too as well.
07:26All these guys, he's experienced, man.
07:28Michael Hawkins plays like he's been playing just his third year as well.
07:32You got J.A., that's in the room as well, that's the leader.
07:34General, I'm really confident in this team, honestly, in quarterbacking, so.
07:39You're a pretty charismatic guy, it seems.
07:41Where do you get that personality from?
07:43I say my father, man.
07:45I kinda act like him.
07:46People say I act like him and stuff like that as well, and you just like to talk.
