00:00 What's up everybody? John Hoover all Sooners all Sooners.com here with a
00:04 special guest ahead of National Signing Day on Wednesday. It's Isaiah Autry, the
00:09 big offensive tackle from Itawamba Agricultural in Fulton, Mississippi.
00:14 Signing Days here Isaiah. A couple of days away by the time everybody watches
00:18 this it'll be like tomorrow. So tell me what's it feel like? It's feeling, I'm
00:24 feeling pretty good about it. Like y'all already know I got my mind made up on
00:27 where I'm going and I'm just ready to get that done and get over there to OU.
00:32 Yeah that's that's an interesting way of putting it. Get it done and get it over
00:36 there. It's been kind of in your, you committed a long time ago. It's been a part of
00:42 your like history almost. The the Oklahoma thing has been like behind you
00:46 for a long time. The commitment I'm talking about. So to have it on the
00:50 doorstep and to have it one of these days like the next couple of days you're
00:54 gonna have the whole thing behind you that you can officially be a Sooner.
00:57 What's that like to have that weight off your shoulders? Yeah I mean it feel like
01:03 it's gonna be pretty good because like I said like I wanted to go ahead and find
01:06 a home and then when I found OU and made it my home it just felt it took a lot of
01:11 stress off of me and everything and now once I sign I'm just I'll be good and
01:16 ready to go in a few weeks after that. All right have you thought about the
01:21 next step early enrollee I guess you're gonna be stepping on campus early? Yes
01:27 sir I have thought about that. Yeah what's what's that gonna be like getting
01:32 immediate instruction from coach Biedenbaugh is the main thing I'm
01:35 thinking of there? Oh well I've already um I've already like seen like how he
01:41 coaches and everything and I already know he's a he's a hard-working
01:44 straightforward guy with you. He's gonna push you and everything and I'm ready
01:48 for basically everything. So as an early enrollee what are your what are your
01:54 goals for your freshman season? What do you want to be able to accomplish when
01:59 you get to Oklahoma? What I want to accomplish is I pretty much would just just work my
02:07 tail off and try to get on the field in any way to help the team as possible.
02:11 It's a special team. If it's me playing on the line as a freshman just just going
02:18 there and doing what I got to do. Sounds good. Now you're actually calling me
02:23 you're calling into this interview from Frisco, Texas. You're not in Mississippi.
02:27 Tell me about what's going on in Frisco, Texas coming up tonight actually. The US
02:33 Army All-American Bowl is gonna be at 7 tonight I believe. Yeah
02:39 congratulations on that that's that's an amazing honor. Thank you. But there's a
02:44 hitch. You you've already played in an All-Star game and you're not able to
02:48 play tonight is that what you told me? Yes yes sir that is. What what happened
02:54 can you describe it for me? I got I got hit in the knee on the pool plate and my
03:00 knee was started acting weird and we just decided it was best to me to go
03:05 ahead and heal and and get and get better. Now this was in a another
03:14 All-Star game tell me about that. The All-Star game before this one? Yeah yeah
03:20 the one you got hurt in. Yes that was a Mississippi Alabama game. Wow how'd that
03:26 go? Oh it went pretty it went pretty good. We it was looking pretty good
03:31 throughout the whole game. It was like 20 something to 17 and Alabama Alabama
03:38 pulled away like it was the score was 26 to 17 in the end. Gotcha gotcha. So when
03:45 you get to OU do you have a roommate assigned already? Yes I already have my
03:50 roommate. Who's that gonna be? Eugene Brooks. Okay I was gonna ask you about
03:56 Eugene Brooks, Josh Asosa and Daniel Akinkumi that that group that incoming
04:01 class of offensive linemen. You guys have been been sticking together in
04:07 recruiting and I guess in talking with each other ahead of time on social media
04:11 and stuff like that. Tell me about your relationship with those guys. I'm
04:17 pretty I'm pretty good with them. I talked to Eugene yesterday and the rest
04:20 of them we talk on a daily and we're all ready to get up there. All four of
04:28 you guys that I mentioned are gonna be up there early enrollees? Yes sir
04:32 majority of us in this class are planning on enrolling early. Yeah I think
04:36 Brent Venable said something like 20 out of the 25 guys or 20 out of the 27 or
04:40 28 guys gonna be enrolling early. Let me ask you a question who's more who's
04:45 who's happier right now about you being a Sooner? Is it you or is it your cousin
04:50 Marcus Dupree? It's mainly me more than him. I know he's really happy
04:57 because he played there but like he um I told him that I was going to OU and
05:03 everything and they were in my top five. He didn't know at the time and then
05:07 when I told him that's when he got happy and he was excited I was going up there.
05:11 Yeah he started something at OU and he would love to see you finish it. That's
05:15 that's kind of the way he expressed it to me. Anyway listen Isaiah man I'll let
05:23 you get to your game tonight. You're not gonna play but you're gonna be there
05:28 supporting your guys, supporting your team and signing autographs, probably
05:32 taking pictures and all that good stuff. That's what future O linemen do at the
05:36 University of Oklahoma. So I look forward to seeing you Norman man. Thanks for your
05:40 time today. Yes sir thank you. Appreciate it.
