A schoolgirl goes missing in a small community over Christmas, and a search goes out to look for her. During the same time Phyllis Segal's husband has also disappeared, but she steadfastly refuses to let on to anybody about it and continues to keep up appearances. But as the days drag on and questions begin to be asked, police begin to become suspicious of just what Mrs Segal is trying to hide from them. Then there is a discovery of a body...

Starring Rachel Kempson, George Sewell, Bryan Marshall, Michael Coles, Jean Alexandrov, Roger Rowland, Russell Hunter, Dorothy White, Christopher Banks, and keep your eyes peeled for a debut appearance early on by Shirley Cheriton (aka Debbie Wilkins from EastEnders) as one of the schoolgirls interviewed by the police. This video is one I saved from Mick's Nostalgia Channel from Youtube just before his channel disappeared, but I've been saving it for Xmas as a treat for you all. It's an eerie mystery, first broadcast on November 17th 1969 in the ITV Playhouse cannon, and as far as I know it has never been repeated. It's a clever whodunnit that isn't as simple as it may appear. It certainly surprised me, and I hope this will be a nice Xmas mystery for you all to absorb yourselves in. Merry Christmas all.
