Nick Mullens on Vikings' Loss vs. Bengals
Transcript
00:00 What's up, guys?
00:01 Obviously, an absolute grind of a football game,
00:05 but those are the types of games that you want to be in.
00:07 But obviously, we have to finish,
00:09 and we couldn't do that today, so that's really unfortunate.
00:13 But there is area for improvement,
00:15 and there's things to be encouraged about,
00:17 so this team's just going to keep pressing forward.
00:20 Question. On the second interception,
00:22 are you just trying to get rid of the ball,
00:23 or did you see something open up?
00:24 Yeah. No. I'm trying to get rid of the football.
00:29 I don't want to take sacks analytically.
00:31 Probably smarter to just take the sack,
00:34 but I was just trying to get rid of the football.
00:36 Did you think you had the first down
00:39 on the first sneak in overtime?
00:42 On the first one? Yeah.
00:44 Yeah, I did, but there's also a lot of carnage,
00:47 I guess you could say, like right there in the middle,
00:49 so you're not exactly sure.
00:51 But I felt like it was a pretty good attempt.
00:53 But whatever happens, you have to find a way to execute.
00:55 You've got to find a way to get it done,
00:58 and this stinks for sure.
00:59 You guys were able to move the ball
01:04 effectively throughout the day.
01:05 I guess what was your comfort level
01:08 kind of working with Justin for the whole game and so forth?
01:12 Yeah, I thought the guys did great.
01:14 Obviously, the goals are to operate and execute all day long.
01:18 And it's fun throwing the ball to Justin Jefferson.
01:21 You can definitely tell that he's a great football player,
01:24 really against all coverages.
01:26 And our whole group was solid today.
01:29 KJ, TJ, BP, Jordan Addison, obviously,
01:32 with huge goal-line abs.
01:36 And I felt great in the pocket.
01:38 And the running backs totaled the Rock very well.
01:40 So, collectively, I was pleased with our performance,
01:45 but the margin of error is so small.
01:49 I mean, that's why you work as hard as you can,
01:50 because you never know what play
01:51 it's going to be that changes the game.
01:54 So, the margin of error is so small, but I love our group,
01:56 and we're not backing down.
