00:00 >> What would be your plan for Dallas Turner?
00:03 I know he didn't have a private work out with him when he came in here.
00:06 >> Yeah. >> We've got some stuff during that
00:07 meeting, but what's sort of the plan to get him up to speed?
00:10 >> Yeah, I think the big thing is learning the base way that we align,
00:14 base way we wanna play defense.
00:16 There are some newer things that all of our guys will be learning and
00:19 getting on the field and doing together for
00:22 the first time in a lot of ways when we get rolling.
00:24 But for Dallas, it's just getting comfortable in that home position on
00:28 the edge as an outside linebacker.
00:30 And then from there, once he can kind of build that comfort,
00:33 then you can begin to stress him, snap in, snap out.
00:36 Where he's lining up in some different spots,
00:39 doing some different jobs depending on down and distance.
00:42 Who else is he in the game with?
00:44 I mean, think about Andrew Van Ginkle in the same way,
00:47 where the versatility to do multiple jobs.
00:49 And then you got JG that has the ability to rush inside and out and
00:53 pair those guys with some interior rush as well.
00:56 And you start to see a third down package start to materialize.
00:59 Now, there's a reason why I have pretty strong feelings about doing team
01:03 full speed at rookie mini camp.
01:05 And in many ways, it's to protect the guys from themselves,
01:08 adding those extra few big guys on the field.
01:11 And we had kind of a golden rule of staying off the ground today, and
01:16 I think we were pretty darn close to a perfect day from that standpoint.
01:20 So now I'm gonna tell them tomorrow maybe we weren't practicing hard enough.
01:23 So either way, it's like I said, I'm just having a blast out here with these guys.
01:27 And coaching is really fun when you're watching tape and you're in the meeting
01:31 room, but there's nothing that compares to being out on the grass with the guys.
