00:00 - Poor bird with frenies?
00:02 - It's French.
00:03 - Oh, what's a croc monster?
00:05 - Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:07 And today, we're counting down our picks
00:08 for the times Missy Cooper was the star of "Young Sheldon."
00:12 If you're not yet caught up, this is your spoiler warning.
00:15 - You defaced my body with a grammatical error.
00:17 - I guess that's your problem.
00:19 - Why are you here?
00:20 - Number 10, Missy and Sheldon almost learn
00:24 that Georgie and Mandy are expecting.
00:26 In this episode, the twins are kept in the dark
00:28 when Georgie and Mandy's baby bombshell
00:30 catches the adults off guard.
00:32 But have they met Missy Cooper?
00:34 She's super perceptive and nothing gets by her.
00:37 - What about last night?
00:38 - What about it?
00:39 - They were talking in the garage with the door shut.
00:41 - What's odd about that?
00:43 - Nobody in this house talks.
00:45 - Hmm, what do you think's going on?
00:47 - I don't know.
00:48 - So when the grownups start acting weird,
00:50 she joins forces with Sheldon to get to the bottom of it.
00:53 Throughout the episode,
00:54 they come up with an array of possibilities,
00:56 each more hilariously wrong than the last.
00:59 By the episode's conclusion,
01:00 they get so close to the truth.
01:02 - I heard them talking about a baby.
01:04 - Oh my.
01:07 - You know what that means.
01:09 - Mom's pregnant.
01:10 - Exactly.
01:11 - So close and yet still so wrong.
01:14 A few episodes later,
01:15 puzzled by her parents' rekindled romance,
01:17 the Coopers' sassiest kid finds solace
01:20 in watching the parent-to-be's endless squabbles.
01:22 - Let's not do this in front of your sister.
01:24 - It actually feels normal.
01:25 - Keep going.
01:27 - And let's not forget,
01:27 I only lied 'cause you're hot.
01:29 - Oh my God.
01:30 We don't need to watch a movie about a talking baby.
01:32 You're right here.
01:34 - Number nine, father-daughter outings.
01:36 While Mary often dotes on Sheldon
01:38 and George Sr. bonds with Georgie over football,
01:41 Missy often finds herself charting her own course.
01:44 So those precious moments she shares with her dad
01:46 always stand out.
01:47 - What sounds fun?
01:49 - I'd like to be taking a dinner.
01:53 - Great.
01:55 - To where?
01:56 - To the fanciest restaurant in all of Texas.
01:59 - They develop a close bond,
02:00 with George always looking out for his little girl
02:02 and connecting over their shared interests.
02:04 - Dinner's ready.
02:05 - Five more minutes.
02:07 - She wants five more minutes with her old dad.
02:11 - It was heartbreaking when they started growing apart
02:13 once Missy settled into her teen years
02:15 and discovered her father's closeness to Brenda Sparks.
02:18 However, in season six,
02:20 we see a glimmer of hope for their relationship.
02:22 Big Bang fans know what lies ahead,
02:24 so we hope they get at least one more father-daughter date
02:27 before the inevitable happens.
02:29 - Will you stop saying that?
02:30 - What?
02:31 Daddy-daughter date?
02:32 - Yes.
02:33 - Okay.
02:35 What would you like me to call our daddy-daughter date?
02:39 - You're so annoying.
02:40 - Number eight, bonding with Georgie over homework.
02:44 As mentioned earlier,
02:45 Mary tends to coddle Sheldon more than his siblings.
02:48 This may be why Georgie and Missy
02:49 share such a special connection.
02:51 Still, we were just as surprised as Georgie
02:54 when Missy asked him to help her with homework,
02:56 but we totally got why he agreed.
02:58 - Sometimes I tell myself I only look stupid
03:00 because he's so smart.
03:02 - Give me the book.
03:10 - Their relatable and hilarious dynamic shines
03:12 as they tackle the questions together,
03:14 proving they don't need Sheldon's brilliant mind.
03:17 - I don't see an action word.
03:18 - Neither do I.
03:19 - Georgie, I don't think this is a sentence.
03:23 - I think you're right.
03:25 - Now I just have to fix it.
03:26 - Put a verb in there, girl.
03:27 - And does it get any cuter than Georgie
03:29 proudly displaying Missy's perfect score in his bedroom?
03:32 We see these two team up on various occasions,
03:35 and it's heartwarming to see that even when Sheldon
03:37 gets most of their parents' attention,
03:39 they still have each other.
03:41 - Doesn't matter.
03:42 He doesn't like me anyway.
03:43 - Sorry.
03:45 I liked it better when you wanted to marry Alf.
03:50 - I still kinda do.
03:51 - Number seven, her friendship with Paige.
03:54 Paige enters the scene as Sheldon's intellectual rival
03:57 at Dr. Sturgis' lectures,
03:58 but eventually becomes fast friends with Missy.
04:01 It starts innocent enough with trips
04:03 to the Hello Kitty store and sleepovers.
04:05 However, as their teenage angst sets in,
04:07 their escapades get more rebellious,
04:09 like stealing George's car to run away.
04:12 - Think your parents know you're gone?
04:13 - They barely know when I'm there.
04:15 - Sure, they're not always the best influences
04:17 on each other, but Missy proves she's got Paige's back
04:19 when it truly matters.
04:21 When Sheldon loses Paige at a college party,
04:23 Missy abandons her own rule-breaking
04:25 to ensure her friend is safe.
04:27 - Bradley, do you know how old she is?
04:29 - She said she was 18.
04:31 - Lower.
04:33 - 16?
04:35 - Lower.
04:36 - I think I gotta go.
04:38 - As Paige shares her struggles and loneliness,
04:40 Missy reminds her that she'll always be there for her.
04:43 - What good is being smart if you're all alone?
04:46 Let's go to Sheldon's room and get you cleaned up.
04:48 - Thanks.
04:50 - Just so you know, you're not alone.
04:52 You've got me.
04:53 - Number six, saving Sheldon from a splinter.
04:56 Sheldon and Missy might be twins,
04:58 but sharing a birthday and a family
05:00 is pretty much where their similarities end.
05:02 When Mary gets a full-time job at the church,
05:04 George convinces her the twins can handle
05:06 a few unsupervised hours at home.
05:09 - First aid kit is in the hall closet,
05:12 and you won't be needing it,
05:13 but under the kitchen sink is a fire extinguisher.
05:17 - Ooh, that looks fine.
05:19 - Faced with a potential danger,
05:20 Sheldon is like a deer in the headlights,
05:23 while Missy, well, she's more resourceful.
05:26 When a simple splinter causes Sheldon stress,
05:28 Missy, unable to find tweezers,
05:30 resorts to creative solutions.
05:32 - My sister performed a medical procedure
05:35 using a children's board game
05:37 while I bravely sat very still.
05:40 - Let's just say it's a good thing
05:41 she was raised on board games,
05:43 because it turns out that operation
05:45 teaches some valuable life skills.
05:47 Missy saves the day, but their mother has a few questions.
05:50 - Why's the kitchen smell like whiskey?
05:53 - Ask her.
05:54 - Oh, dear Lord!
05:56 - Wait till you hear what I did to Meemaw.
06:00 - Number five, making the baseball team
06:03 and making that boy eat dirt.
06:05 Missy initially shows interest in baseball
06:07 to impress her crush, but ultimately strikes out.
06:10 She truly develops a passion for the sport
06:12 after a hilariously impressive winning streak
06:14 at the church carnival.
06:15 - This is a lot of fun,
06:17 but why don't we let somebody else take a shot?
06:19 - Get him a kick.
06:20 - Missy, Missy, Missy, Missy, Missy, Missy!
06:25 - However, she faces a devastating curveball
06:29 when Dale, a team coach,
06:30 initially dismisses her because of her gender.
06:33 But with Connie in her corner,
06:34 Missy not only makes the team,
06:36 but also scores a home run against gender bias.
06:39 - I need you to give her the same chance you would a boy.
06:42 - Or what?
06:45 - Or you and me gonna have problems.
06:46 - Well, we wouldn't want that, would we?
06:51 - She still has some bases to cover,
06:53 whether it's showing her friends
06:54 there's no one right way to be a girl,
06:57 or proving to the boys that she deserves her place
06:59 on the team as much as anyone.
07:01 She's even willing to make anyone
07:02 who challenges her eat dirt.
07:05 - Go, babe!
07:05 (upbeat music)
07:08 - Ah, well, here we go.
07:09 - Eat dirt!
07:10 Eat it!
07:11 - Number four, messing with her mother.
07:14 - I know what you're doing.
07:15 - Okay, I just feel bad for my friend.
07:18 That poor son of a Mitch.
07:20 - Melissa Cooper!
07:21 - Missy's puzzling relationship with religion and God
07:24 is tied to the belief that, much like Santa,
07:27 God might be keeping tabs on who's been naughty or nice.
07:30 - You're unhappy, just ask God for help.
07:31 - I don't believe in God.
07:33 - Shh, he can hear you.
07:35 He knows if you've been bad or good.
07:37 Like Santa, he can send you to hell.
07:39 - That said, it doesn't stop her
07:40 from throwing in a playful jab
07:42 at her mom's faith every now and then.
07:44 For instance, when Sheldon asks Mary
07:45 about his chances of winning class president,
07:48 Missy cracks a joke,
07:49 reminding her that the big guy values honesty.
07:52 - Whether you win or not,
07:53 I think it's great that you're trying.
07:55 - But you think I'll win, right?
07:56 - God's listening, Mom.
07:59 - However, one of the funniest moments comes
08:01 when Missy decides to read certain Bible excerpts
08:04 out loud in front of her mom.
08:06 She asserts she's just trying to make her happy,
08:09 but Mary is too astute to believe that.
08:12 - That thine ox and thine ass may rest.
08:15 - That is it, you are grounded.
08:16 - For reading the Bible?
08:18 - The way you are doing it, yes, go to your room.
08:20 - Okay.
08:22 - I don't have a donkey,
08:23 but if I did, I'd take my ass out of here.
08:25 - Number three, participating in a twin study with Sheldon.
08:29 We all know that Sheldon's a genius,
08:30 but it seems like Missy may have gotten the lion's share
08:33 when it comes to other kinds of intelligence.
08:35 When the siblings participate in a twin study,
08:37 Sheldon nails the analytical problem-solving questions,
08:40 while Missy shines in the emotional
08:42 and social intelligence rounds.
08:44 - Must be something juicy, 'cause he's smiling.
08:47 - Anything else?
08:48 - It might be dirty, 'cause this girl monkey
08:50 is sending the kid monkey out of the room.
08:52 He doesn't wanna go, he looks sad.
08:54 - Watching her bond with the scientist
08:56 and describe a monkey tea party is pure joy,
08:59 but our hearts sank when she explained
09:01 why she thinks she developed such refined perception skills.
09:04 - And my mom and me mom spent all their time
09:06 fussing over Sheldon, so they're like a team too.
09:09 - So no one's on your team?
09:12 - Nope, it's just me.
09:14 - Still, she proves brighter than Sheldon
09:16 when she demands a cut of their feet.
09:18 But let's just say that if she and Sheldon
09:20 had approached these negotiations together,
09:22 they'd be unstoppable.
09:24 - Well, I want half that.
09:25 - Which is?
09:26 - Hang on.
09:29 Sheldon!
09:31 - Number two, Missy apologizes.
09:34 Season six hits Missy hard with teenage angst,
09:37 and things haven't been too easy lately either.
09:39 In the season finale, a tornado disrupts their journey
09:42 as she and George drive home, compelling them to take cover.
09:45 - God, I'm scared.
09:46 - It's okay, we're almost home.
09:48 Keep an eye out for thunderclouds.
09:51 - What happens if I see one?
09:52 - We get out of the car and we lay down low,
09:54 put the passes over them.
09:56 - George shields his daughter with his body
09:58 and they weather the storm together.
09:59 As the tempest subsides, so does much of Missy's anger.
10:03 In a touching moment, she breaks down
10:04 and apologizes for everything.
10:06 - I'm sorry.
10:08 I'm sorry for everything.
10:09 I've been awful, I don't even know why.
10:11 I really do love you with mom,
10:14 and I don't actually hate Sheldon.
10:16 - George quickly reassures her and forgives,
10:18 easing the tension.
10:20 It's not common for Missy to show her vulnerable side,
10:22 so this scene really cuts deep.
10:24 George's loving response gives us hope
10:26 that their reconciliation marks a promising new chapter
10:28 in their relationship.
10:30 - It'll be better, I promise.
10:32 - I know you will.
10:33 I love you too.
10:35 - Before we unveil our top pick,
10:36 here are a few honorable mentions.
10:39 Defending Billie.
10:40 Her heart is bigger than her desire to be popular.
10:43 - Billie, she doesn't like you.
10:45 - What do you mean?
10:46 - She's having a party at her house on Saturday.
10:49 She's not going to the movies.
10:51 It's a prank.
10:52 - Oh.
10:54 - I'm sorry.
10:56 - Dealing with her father's infidelity.
10:58 She might not have Sheldon's IQ,
11:00 but you can't pull the wool or chicken's feathers
11:03 over her eyes.
11:04 - He said he saw y'all leaving there the other day.
11:07 - We were talking chickens.
11:10 - And he said it wasn't the first time.
11:12 - They got a lot of chickens.
11:15 - Getting a job to help out her family.
11:17 Missy does her part when the Coopers
11:18 face some money troubles.
11:20 - They act as a metaphor for outsiders
11:22 trying to find their place in society.
11:24 - Who's your favorite?
11:26 - All of them.
11:27 - Mine too.
11:30 - And I got the job.
11:31 - Playing favorites.
11:32 We guess she doesn't want to be mom's favorite that bad.
11:35 - Since Sheldon cost you all that money,
11:37 who's your new favorite?
11:38 Me or Georgie?
11:39 - You know I don't have favorites.
11:41 - Yeah, right.
11:42 - Okay, whoever takes the trash out first is my favorite.
11:46 - She thinks we're stupid.
11:48 - Missy the genius.
11:49 Imagine an alternate universe where Missy's
11:51 the family brainiac.
11:53 - Dr. Sturgis is correct.
11:54 If indeed we grew up in another universe,
11:57 our sense of normality would be formed by that universe.

12:15 Number one, helping Sheldon find his courage.
12:19 Many of us have spotted parallels between Missy
12:21 and the Big Bang Theory's Penny.
12:23 Both enjoy teasing Sheldon,
12:24 but harbor a deep affection for him too.
12:27 Remember when Missy tried to use twin telepathy
12:29 to communicate with Sheldon when he started school in Dallas?
12:32 - But I think mom misses you real bad.
12:34 All right, I can't hear you so I'm gonna hang up now.
12:42 Good night.
12:43 - Or how she sought comfort in his bed
12:45 while he was in the hospital.
12:46 But she displays top tier sister qualities
12:49 when both twins face big changes.
12:51 She reassures Sheldon that it's okay to be scared
12:53 and that the best thing they can do
12:55 is face those fears head on.
12:56 - So what do we do?
12:59 - I guess be scared and do it anyway.
13:01 - In a moment reminiscent of Sheldon's Nobel speech,
13:04 he dedicates his valedictorian address to her.
13:06 Seeing Missy's face light up just melts our hearts.
13:09 - Missy, this is for you.
13:13 - What's your favorite Missy moment?
13:18 Let us know in the comments.
13:20 - I don't need to be good at math.
13:21 I have beautiful hair.
13:23 - Do you agree with our picks?
