00:00 Just a devastating weekend in the
00:02 mid South as deadly tornadoes
00:04 tore through Middle Tennessee and
00:05 even into Southern Kentucky.
00:07 Many tornado reports here.
00:08 I want to hone in on this stripe.
00:11 You can see from Montgomery County,
00:13 Tennessee back into Southern Kentucky.
00:15 That was an EF3 tornado now confirmed
00:18 that tore through the city of Clarksville
00:20 and sadly became deadly.
00:22 Another deadly tornado back into Davidson
00:24 County, the same county where Nashville is.
00:26 This tornado, however,
00:27 becoming deadly once it reached
00:29 Madison, Tennessee.
00:30 This one rated an EF2.
00:31 A recap of the events here.
00:33 Sadly,
00:34 six people have been declared dead
00:36 because of this tornado outbreak
00:38 between Clarksville and Madison.
00:39 More than 80, though,
00:40 were taken to the hospital with
00:42 injuries after the events and dozens,
00:44 if not hundreds of residential
00:46 homes have been leveled power.
00:48 Also a concern.
00:49 We've woke up to power outages this morning.
00:52 Thousands of them across the volunteer
00:53 state as multiple power substations
00:55 were significantly damaged and some
00:57 of them really there's no thought as
00:59 to when they can be turned back on
01:01 and power can be restored.
01:03 Now for those of you who are sitting
01:05 here listening saying this is awful,
01:07 how can I help?
01:08 Well, let me tell you,
01:09 the Red Cross has been boots on the
01:11 ground since the second this happened.
01:13 You can go to redcross.org/acuweather
01:15 to donate or use.
01:16 There's a bunch of ways here.
01:18 You can call 1-800-RED-CROSS or
01:19 even text the word Red Cross.
01:21 No spaces to 90999.
01:22 Now in terms of the Southeast forecast,
01:24 I will say this much.
01:25 You know, clean up weather for recovery here.
01:28 It's actually really calm,
01:29 really tranquil across the
01:30 Mid South and Southeast Louisville,
01:32 Nashville, Huntsville, Knoxville.
01:33 You get the picture here.
01:35 Temperatures between 40 and 50 degrees
01:36 and plenty of sunshine across the region.
01:39 Now as we look across the entire region,
01:41 will open this up to the entire Southeast.
01:43 You can see it's the same trend.
01:46 Montgomery 56 degrees today,
01:47 52 in Atlanta as we head down
01:49 the peninsula of Florida.
01:50 We get into the 60s and eventually
01:52 the 70s in South Florida.
01:53 We keep the sunshine rolling through
01:55 the region even Wednesday.
01:57 Not quite as cool midweek as well.
01:59 Temperatures get a little bit of a
02:01 chance to rebound before high pressure
02:02 sends in some more cool air from the north.
02:05 Overall, though it is a really
02:06 sunny and really dry stretch for
02:08 the Southeast and Mid South.
02:09 Here's a look at the next three
02:11 days of temperatures and you can
02:13 see that Atlanta for example,
02:14 61 degrees by Wednesday.
02:15 That's not so bad.
02:16 Jacksonville back to the low to mid 60s,
02:19 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Jackson,
02:20 Mississippi,
02:20 even in the low to mid 60s as well.
02:23 Will give you seven days in
02:24 the low to mid 60s up again.
02:26 You can see that we're in the
02:28 upper 40s today,
02:29 but we jumped to the upper
02:30 50s by Tuesday afternoon.
02:31 Temperatures even to the low 60s by the
02:33 time we get to the weekend in Music City.
