Czech driver Tomáš Vojtěch suffered a heart attack during the fourth special stage "Cerekev 2" of the Rallye Pelhřimov, second round of the 2005 Czech Sprintrally Championship.

Vojtěch lost consciousness while driving his #5 Peugeot 206 WRC entered by OMV Rally Team, in the early hours of the afternoon of Saturday, 16 April 2005. His co-driver, Emil Horniaček, was able to safely bring the car to a stop. Paramedics tried to revive Tomáš Vojtěch for some forty minutes, but sadly the heart failure he suffered was fatal.

At the moment Tomáš Vojtěch was leading the Czech Sprintrally Championship standings. He finished in third place the previous season, driving the same car in which he would lose his life. After his death, the Rallye Pelhřimov was stopped at the end of the fourth stage and the remainder of the rally stages were canceled. His younger brother Štěpán Vojtěch with co-driver Ernst Michal, who were in the lead, were declared winners of the rally in another Peugeot 206 WRC.
