00:00 >> I'd love to.
00:00 I'm kind of just one of the ones that's been working.
00:02 >> Yeah, that would be great.
00:03 >> I'd love to.
00:04 Thanks.
00:04 [ Background noise ]
00:09 >> I think we're both done.
00:10 We're going to.
00:10 [ Background noise ]
00:15 >> I'm sure we did all right.
00:15 >> Yeah.
00:16 [ Background noise ]
00:20 >> Hi, everyone.
00:20 Good afternoon.
00:21 You know, I'm pleased to start off this whole time to be here.
00:25 And good looking.
00:27 I just want to explain the ACC case for the day and the journey that we've been on.
00:30 You know, both public and regular station and foreign teams continue to pay us a call.
00:36 The week in and week out, you know, the remarkable set of people built and the performance
00:41 that they've put out there on the field and who they are.
00:44 You know, the company is really special.
00:47 You know, it's first year of doing all the innovations in ACC.
00:50 And the best thing is you cannot think more right.
00:53 I mean, you know, a lot of respect for both Ron and the other football teams.
00:58 A lot of the folks and playmakers all over the field.
01:00 You work that in and come about the opportunity that we have.
01:03 And we know the challenges ahead.
01:04 But this is going to be a great night, great atmosphere.
01:08 That's what golf is all about.
01:10 You know, the ability to get an opportunity.
01:12 And that's what we've, you know, we've worked for.
01:15 And I've been here in front of us.
01:17 And, you know, have a really good week of work.
01:19 And our guys are prepared at a very high level.
01:21 You know, a lot of excitement around our team and our program.
01:24 I look forward to what we have.
01:26 And we'll work to do a lead-in at 8.15 tomorrow night.
01:30 We're excited for that.
01:32 So, it's a nice addition.
01:34 But it's still great to have the idea of this team working hard.
01:37 >> Great. Raise your hand.
01:38 That's just a nice feel of a DORB to work with.
01:40 What a great night.
01:42 >> It is a magic night from Paramount Sports Radio.
01:45 And what do you think has led to your success?
01:48 How much more will you be able to do so far?
01:51 >> You know, I mean, it comes down to the players.
01:52 You know, their work ethic.
01:53 You know, the buy-in.
01:55 You know, the, you know, taking each experience
01:57 and really working to get better on it.
02:00 And I think we have a confident football team.
02:02 We're confident in everything, the experience.
02:04 And the experience that they have and the work that they poured into.
02:08 They really care about each other.
02:09 You know, we found ourselves in a lot of,
02:11 there's different situations throughout the 12 games.
02:13 We've been up big.
02:15 We, you know, had the moment where we failed.
02:17 We've had to come back.
02:18 And this team's never quit.
02:20 You know, we really have a lot of belief in each other.
02:22 And we've got a lot of talent to play with on a roster.
02:26 >> No worries.
02:27 >> I'm wondering from the point of view of a model,
02:30 who's most probably going to jump in?
02:32 >> You're on COVID, Jeff.
02:33 >> Yeah.
02:34 >> I'm a senior here.
02:35 >> Well, you're a young, successful player.
02:37 And you're not only going to be a receiver.
02:39 I can always say a top 10 here.
02:41 Or a 17th here.
02:42 This is an unbelievable top returner.
02:44 I feel like he's going to be a great teammate.
02:46 And everybody around him better.
02:48 He's come in for the very first day.
02:50 And he's really worked at an extremely high level.
02:53 You know, he's come in and learned.
02:54 But then, you know, we can move around a lot of different places.
02:57 You know, it's been a day's work for us.
02:58 But the conversion quality department, you know,
03:01 you know, he's been definitely a wonderful example of what we want.
03:06 And, you know, he's just continued to improve.
03:09 And he's opportunistic.
03:10 And he's made good plays in every game.
03:12 And we're really hoping to get him big time tomorrow night.
03:16 >> Yeah. And Mike, we'll turn it over to Harvey.
03:18 >> Hi, John.
03:18 Harvey, how are you?
03:19 I just forgot I was bringing you here.
03:20 You talked about the quarterbacks.
03:21 I noticed here we had a lot of games that looked like we had four quarterbacks.
03:24 So we're going to have to call the other quarterbacks.
03:26 Is it good to have then somebody in the four quarter?
03:28 The nodes, this comes in future.
03:29 It's coming in like tomorrow.
03:31 The nodes, ready to go?
03:32 >> No, absolutely.
03:33 And, you know, we've been in good situations where, you know,
03:36 we have been able to get some experience with guys.
03:38 And, you know, Kate Smith has done a really nice job, you know,
03:41 going in the North Alabama nodes, you know, spring game.
03:45 She's been a part of that game and, you know, really did a great job throughout it.
03:49 And so a week ago, you know, brought the field first.
03:51 We'll turn it on, let you go in, and, you know, we'll take one out.
03:54 So the more experience those guys get, you know, obviously the more comfortable they feel.
03:59 You know, it's nothing like preparing yourself for a game day.
04:02 And, you know, you can do all the things that you want to do.
04:05 And when you step out on that field, you can see, you know,
04:08 you can see all the things that go around.
04:11 And what, you know, what makes it the most comfortable play.
04:14 But also, it's so unique to be able to prepare for it.
04:16 But I'm glad we have the experience that we have.
04:18 And you know, I think we've got a team there that is very good.
04:22 >> Andrew Wilson, yes, Jim.com.
04:24 Mike, as a follow-up to that with Kate going through the process,
04:27 what will determine whether you can come out?
04:29 >> You know, you know, going out to the game last week, you know,
04:32 just they got, you know, they, you know, they're in the fourth quarter, you know, we went over.
04:37 We were able to, you know, go through all of our guidelines and IUA's case.
04:41 And we were able to pass that, to be able to go back in the game,
04:44 clear the last week that he filled out that we hold there all effectively.
04:48 And then, you'll see this, you'll see this Sunday, you'll have these conclusions of things that,
04:53 you know, we've started our process then and we've worked through it throughout the course of the week.
04:57 You'll have been able to practice here throughout the week in limited spots.
05:02 But, you know, that's going to be something else we look for game day.
05:05 And we'll continue on with our process for the evaluation and just do our best from there.
05:10 >> All right.
05:11 >> I'd like to help you.
05:12 Ken, along those lines, how did you handle the practice with those guys for the week?
05:18 And how much of the game plan changed from Jordan to Jake to Brock?
05:22 Is it essentially the same game plan?
05:23 Or do you have to make adjustments to make sure he's out there?
05:26 >> Well, we believe a lot of, you know, the older guys can be able to get work.
05:29 You know, it takes time to get guys back to work.
05:31 A lot more individuals come into, you know, Brock is not the bulk of it.
05:36 You know, we're, you know, we've gotten, you know,
05:38 we're going through immortalized situations that we've been going into.
05:43 So, it's been there.
05:44 He's been in all the meetings.
05:45 He's been really busy.
05:46 So, he's got his work out there interactive.
05:48 And then, AJ, Bobby, has also got his studies corrected, though, with the different units.
05:52 And so, you know, our guys, you know, they get in practice,
05:56 they have to train the whole lot to know when they're not going to.
05:58 When you see, you know, your Brock, you know,
06:00 it's still something that he brings even into the practice.
06:04 You know, we're all preparing to be able to play this game day every place.
06:07 A week ago, you know, we were going to play in that, you know,
06:10 last segment of the game.
06:11 He knew that he was going to be one play away.
06:13 And, you know, hopefully, we had to go in and we had to be ready for that situation as well.
06:19 And so, we were both the same way.
06:22 You know, we know the process.
06:23 They have to go through and you're starting to split.
06:25 And, you know, both of us, we'll go through and see.
06:28 And we lead up to game day and to game time.
06:32 And then, we'll see where it's at.
06:33 But, you know, all those guys are ready and they're prepared.
06:36 And they're never getting told.
06:37 - Hi, Joe.
06:39 I'm Jen Lewis, News Feed Comedian at T-Texan and Hive.
06:42 With this season being a special device, what have been,
06:47 one lesson you've learned about your property, coach?
06:50 And also, what has been the most impactful or most special thing that you saw
06:55 that occurred on the field this year?
06:58 - You know, it's, I'm not saying less impactful.
07:02 But it's, you know, a combination of the impact that can be made.
07:07 And it's not just on the field.
07:09 Here's the thing about coaching.
07:10 I think about play calls.
07:11 I think about all the sciences.
07:13 I love watching the game, right?
07:14 I love watching the years that they're trying, that they get to be on.
07:17 And, you know, for all the things that came into this year with being at Tech Christian's,
07:21 we had to go, you know, we tore it off a season.
07:24 It was a very challenging, you know, difficult kind of first month of the season.
07:28 And three or four on the road and having to go and, you know,
07:32 just being able to be able to embrace that, that work for it,
07:35 that truly I believe didn't count.
07:38 You know, regardless of what showed up, I mean, they were true to each other.
07:43 And, you know, I think all the failures and the pain things that we have within our program,
07:51 you know, all the things off the field as far as that,
07:53 when you see them growing up and you see, you know, the way that they're able to handle,
07:57 you know, the challenges, it's a waste because you feel they're able to handle the task.
08:01 And that was also the biggest thing that's down to your faith is whenever you're doing well.
08:06 You know, we played 12 games and, you know, we've been to courts and every one of them, you know,
08:10 did not get completed, did not get comfortable, continued to work on improving.
08:14 You know, that's something that really validated, you know, this journey.
08:18 I mean, this has been a four-year process here for us,
08:21 and to be able to achieve all the positive steps that have been taken,
08:24 it's just so gratifying for me.
08:27 I'm grateful for the players I get to coach, the staff I get to be with.
08:30 And, you know, to a certain point, you know, one play, I mean, it's --
08:34 we talked about we'll probably get to pick one out, but, I mean, you know,
08:38 that's the first down pass in an overtime at home, and it was a pretty good one.
08:43 And, you know, I'm proud of it.
08:45 But, you know, you see great players, and everything that they have with each play that they get,
08:53 and owners being playing together and just the process going down.
08:57 The rest are issues.
08:58 Hey, Mike, Matt Baker with Cambridge Times.
09:00 Another quarterback question.
09:02 Where have you seen the most growth in Brock's learning so far this season?
09:06 You know, Brock kind of is in and out of the game and kind of sells it for a year for him.
09:10 You know, he came in in January, and I mean, he's amazing.
09:14 The maturity level, the mindset with he brings, you know, the confidence in his eyes.
09:20 I mean, he can operate with that group of guys.
09:23 He's also seen that he's been in his first semester that was perfect.
09:28 And, I mean, just he's jumped out on the field, and the guys, you know,
09:31 there's a buzz around him, and he really does a wonderful job at that.
09:34 You know, this year, you know, Frank Fendi goes in, and that's his injury,
09:37 just not throwing in, but limiting the amount of action for, you know, a few weeks of the season.
09:43 And, you know, he's able to clear and get back up and active.
09:47 I think just from the mindset approach that he used, he's becoming more consistent
09:52 in all the things that we all have to do to win, knowing that you're going to have an opportunity.
09:57 You know, Bill Gleitman was the president of the Secretary of the Border Patrol,
10:00 and he's just been a much more solid head of the Secretary of the Border Patrol than he is.
10:03 You don't necessarily know the course.
10:05 You don't ever know when that moment might happen where you have to go in there,
10:11 and you have to look in the back and can you win a game.
10:13 I think what I love is Brock's return, and how he has been in the media,
10:17 the ownership executives, and he's a top-tier prep, and the good, the bad,
10:21 and then continuing to grow and get better at all things,
10:25 and being consistent in what we ask him to do.
10:28 So, I know he's still young, and he's still fresh, but he's there yet.
10:32 And he's definitely on the tournament today.
10:34 Hi, Brock.
10:35 Can you see me?
10:36 Yeah, of course, Mark.
10:37 Workhat.com.
10:38 We talked earlier in the week, Mike, about some of the moxie tape for Brock to call that --
10:42 or not call that play, but run that play he ran in the slump,
10:44 and you said he's never going to be a kid that doubts his own self-belief.
10:48 If he does play a minute, a quarter, the whole game,
10:51 how important is that to know that he probably won't be overwhelmed by the moment?
10:56 He believes in himself and what he can do.
10:58 Yeah, I mean, I think it's kind of unique, because it's one thing for, you know,
11:01 a coach or a product to type word out into somebody,
11:04 but when you can step around and they have it, and it's real, and it's proof,
11:10 and that's something that's put on, and it gets everybody around,
11:13 and, you know, a lot of confidence as well.
11:15 And so, you know, he knows that he had to be ready right quick,
11:18 and really it was the same thing, you know, same direct increase, you know,
11:21 there as we were preparing for, you know, our last regular season game.
11:24 I'm not saying he got -- it was even accelerated, but, you know,
11:28 what point do you limit it?
11:30 And so he's been -- he's won, and, you know, he's not going to hold back.
11:34 He's going to put all of his ass into it.
11:36 You know, he's going to -- if he has to go on the field, I've got a lot of confidence
11:40 in what that's going to look like and what it's going to mean, and, you know,
11:43 he just can't look again.
11:45 As we talked about with the Team State, he's going to be the best A.J.
11:47 He's going to be the rock biggest option, and he needs to go out there to promise
11:51 that that's all we need from him.
11:53 And, you know, I said to A.J., you know, those guys, it just --
11:57 what's great about this game is that you never know,
12:00 and, you know, we've known all those guys for like three months,
12:03 and I mean, I feel for Jordan's group.
12:06 I mean, with the airplane and the conference championship, you know,
12:09 with the ball in the hole and a lot of things, you know,
12:11 we're going to force him out.
12:13 You know, four years that we've been together, and, you know,
12:15 he's going to -- he's going to -- he's going to have a nominal responsibility,
12:17 because he does have the ability to pass us on the field.
12:20 But he was such a wonderful example of what it looked like when I was over here
12:25 and what could have happened.
12:27 And, you know, putting all of this would have been -- even in this moment,
12:31 what's going to stay on the court for him, there's no regret,
12:34 because he gave it all.
12:36 And, you know, that's where I think these guys can see that example and know,
12:39 you know, if I get called upon, I'm going to be ready,
12:43 because I've done the things necessary to put him up in the best position
12:46 to go out there and win.
12:48 All right.
12:49 All right, another question is for Hendo.
12:52 You said four years ago you committed to this, and you feel to this point,
12:56 this is not the easiest part.
12:58 What was it, a year and a half ago, that kind of finally switched
13:01 and you think all of this is part of the story you're in?
13:04 No, it isn't part of the story.
13:05 It wasn't a year and a half ago.
13:06 It was a year and a day.
13:07 It was consistent through the day.
13:09 You know, I think people like to point to it as a positive moment,
13:12 so they go back to where it was.
13:14 You know, I think the response to some of the challenges, you know,
13:18 guys not going back, you know, not getting in, you know,
13:21 just continuing to work, and, you know, I don't think that was okay.
13:25 I think that was a big part of hosting staff is we needed to be consistent
13:28 for it.
13:29 You know, we didn't always change every week, you know,
13:33 what the standard application was.
13:34 And that's how we're going to operate.
13:36 That's what we're going to do.
13:37 Did it always return a median positive result?
13:40 No, it was all broke.
13:42 You saw a few small guys that were getting better.
13:44 You saw that we were getting closer, and then, you know,
13:47 I think we pitted on, and, you know, I mean, our first year,
13:50 when we got 29 in, you know, our first year, we did 12.
13:54 We didn't -- we had to -- people going in the next week weren't going well
13:58 and what that looked like.
13:59 And then, you know, we went through that year, and then we were a little
14:02 bit, you know, you know, for Rutgen where we were, we saw from the
14:06 positive reactions and response to it, and then to put it to our next
14:11 year, we were able to do some good things.
14:14 And then the guys just kept working and kept believing,
14:17 and then the donors and from then on.
14:21 Matt Shruck, Naughty Bird, Bethany Sports Radio.
14:24 Playing in close games like revival, like with Miami and against one of
14:30 the games from Florida, how would that be beneficial to you guys in an
14:34 ACC championship game?
14:36 Well, I mean, it's more than that.
14:37 I mean, emotional games, I mean, it's so much work that's going into,
14:40 you know, how to write the way around pencil and just kind of play out.
14:44 I mean, to play -- you know, being your two biggest rivals for the last
14:48 three weeks of the regular season, I mean,
14:50 it's been an emotional time for us to be at home.
14:52 And then, you know, having to go do it on the road a week ago and to see
14:55 the ups and downs and what those games can provide.
14:58 I mean, it's going to be a battle tomorrow, and we're excited about it.
15:02 We're excited about what this helps.
15:04 We know we're playing a game that's so close, but we don't open in big
15:06 games.
15:07 We've been in emotional moments.
15:08 We've had to respond.
15:09 We play from ahead and we play from behind, but this team, I mean,
15:12 they've got tremendous heart, tremendous character, and I'm excited
15:15 about what we're playing.
15:17 Mike, both of these teams have found a lot of success through the Transfer
15:22 Portal and getting you guys to where you are.
15:24 Jeff was asked before how he approached evaluation in the portal,
15:28 and he said, "Look, I just look for the most talented guys,
15:30 and I want to get them regardless of what the reputation on them might have
15:33 been coming in."
15:34 Where do you approach to evaluation and finding the right guys that are going
15:37 to be a fit for you guys?
15:39 Yeah, I think we've come to the right fit.
15:40 And, you know, I think for me, the makeup of the individual,
15:46 I mean, there's a lot of talented guys that are out there.
15:49 And, you know, to come into this program, you know, we push,
15:52 and we're pushing every area on the field, off the field, you know,
15:55 and I think the thing that you've seen within our program is that everybody
16:00 has a different journey to get.
16:02 But with all their unique journeys, I mean, there's a similar mindset.
16:06 And we've got a very close football team, and we've got a team that, you
16:10 know, they love who they get to play with.
16:13 They're about who they get to play for.
16:15 And, you know, we get to do this all together.
16:17 And so, you know, making sure that, you know, yes,
16:20 you have a certain level of talent and ability and things that we're looking
16:23 for, you know, they're on the field,
16:25 and also knowing who they are off the field matters.
16:27 And I think we've seen some of our best leaders trying to get able to come
16:31 into this program, you know, from the outside maybe as a transfer,
16:35 and you see some great leaders that we have that come in and develop
16:39 from high school.
16:40 And I thought this week was pretty cool that, you know,
16:43 the 23 individuals, you know, that were recognized in OIC,
16:48 I mean, on the top of them were, you know, guys that have developed through
16:53 the program, you know, guys that have been able to come in and, you know,
16:57 find a home and the right opportunity here at Fort State.
17:00 And, you know, sometimes the right guys love to work,
17:03 they care about each other, and, you know, folks can do their best in
17:06 everything.
17:07 All right.
17:08 Steve, I'll bring it up a little, just to encourage you to turn it on.
17:11 You know, given the way players are so active on social media right now,
17:16 the potential so-called playoff impact of this game,
17:20 how do you kind of navigate this singular focus on just this game and,
17:25 you know, the trip to Baltimore and where they may be?
17:27 Yeah, you know, I mean, we -- you know, I don't talk to them a whole lot
17:31 about it.
17:32 You know, our focus every day, you know, in four years has been just go get
17:37 better.
17:38 So go get better being our best.
17:39 I believe that we can't afford that.
17:41 The rest of it will take care of itself.
17:43 And, you know, when I do a big-ass home site, you know,
17:46 being able to have some stuff to be able to sustain that,
17:49 to be able to continue to grow, continue to get better, continue to respond,
17:52 there's plenty of stuff that's in the world.
17:54 And if you allow yourself to be distracted on something that you really
17:58 can't control in the moment, then, you know,
18:00 there's no way you're going to be able to put out the best of what you can
18:04 do.
18:05 And, you know, I've got a lot of confidence in what we can do,
18:08 and, you know, for everything else that's on the outside,
18:12 I mean, right now we can't go a whole lot about it.
18:14 If it's going out there tomorrow night, it's not anything that we can.
18:16 We'll make our statement and go get better.
18:18 Then we'll work this thing all out.
18:20 And, you know, I know we're -- we're right at the meet-ups.
18:23 Do you want to throw in a speech?
18:25 You talked about Jordan having a job tomorrow.
18:28 I know he couldn't be on the field at Florida.
18:30 Can he be on the field in this game?
18:31 Will he be on the head side?
18:32 Will he drop the tape and drop from the quarterback?
18:34 No, he probably -- I mean,
18:35 he probably will not be down on the sideline, you know,
18:38 with that -- that's the issue of, you know, recovering the injury.
18:42 But, you know, he's present, you know,
18:45 and that's where he's going to be there tonight, you know,
18:47 with the team at hotel, and tomorrow's not the fourth of the day.
18:49 You know, with his -- you know, him being there, I mean,
18:53 his support, his encouragement, I mean, there's -- he's a special man.
18:56 And, you know, we all have -- we all have a job to do.
19:00 And everybody within the program, and the thing I ask is that when they
19:03 show up, you know, that we all give our best to make a positive impact.
19:07 Those that are around us, you know, those are the guys that can do that tonight.
19:10 In other words, you might be preparing for another COVID,
19:13 and you think running into the race, you think the Mardon tires could get going?
19:16 Well, you know, it's going to be -- we'll see what the weather holds,
19:19 and tomorrow at 8 o'clock, but, you know,
19:22 it's something that we've prepared for, something that we've --
19:25 you know, we've been preparing for that for the last -- you know, the last 12 weeks.
19:28 So, you know, I mean, you know, it's -- unless you can't get COVID,
19:31 you can't prepare for it.
19:33 And then there are guys where they know that whatever the situation,
19:37 the circumstance is, they'll be ready to respond, whether it's, you know,
19:40 on the ground or in the air, you know, we're going to find a way to go out there and get them back.
19:45 Thank you very much.
19:46 Mike, as a follow-up to C.L.'s question on playoffs, there's another school
19:50 and another conference that has already started to make public statements
19:53 and lobby about why they would be deserving if they make it to the playoffs.
19:57 Why do you feel like you just want your play tomorrow to make that statement for you
20:01 as opposed to verbal statements today?
20:04 I believe in our game.
20:06 That's what we have.
20:07 We have a football team, and, you know,
20:09 our people try to point it to one player, they try to point it to the other side of the ball.
20:12 They -- none of that matters.
20:13 It comes down to we've had 12 opportunities to go out there and play this game,
20:17 and we've found a way to be successful in every one of them.
20:20 And we found ourselves in some challenging situations.
20:22 We've been able to do a lot of great things,
20:24 but none of the lobbying or the talk about what matters, we don't take care of business tomorrow.
20:29 So, if it gets to a point where I need to make a statement verbally about a problem,
20:33 I believe in the team.
20:34 I believe we'll talk tomorrow night, and that statement will be louder than any word I can say today.
20:39 And that's what we're aspiring to be and aspiring to do.
20:42 A lot of people love to talk.
20:44 I mean, all of us are going to be in the act.
20:46 If we take care of our business, then we'll get a lot of confidence the way that we do.
20:50 Mike, what stands out to you about Jeff Brog and about this local team in particular?
20:59 I mean, you know, it's the -- you know, Cameron Welch folks, I mean,
21:01 they're going to play a variety of different ways, offense, defense, specialty.
21:05 They utilize their -- there's co-connel.
21:07 There's a lot of versatility within this football team.
21:11 And then the method of attack, I mean, they're going to build around the football.
21:14 They're going to take the shots down the field.
21:16 They're going to try to keep it off the offense with mostly, you know,
21:20 adjustments and different variations of formations.
21:23 And, you know, it's really good players that he'll get the ball through, and they make an impact.
21:28 And when you look at them defensively, it's really sort of the same thing,
21:31 just, I mean, you know, they're going to attack, and they've done a great job.
21:34 You know, one of the best defenses in the country.
21:37 You know, they play with passion.
21:38 They play extremely hard.
21:40 It's not a hard-nosed football team, and that's what makes this game, you know,
21:44 what it's going to be is a great game.
21:46 And, you know, it's a great representation of ACC,
21:48 and I think their staff has done a wonderful job throughout the course of the season.
21:52 And, you know, just seeing their players, you know,
21:55 gel together and their confidence is continuing to grow, and, you know,
21:59 it's going to be -- it's a wonderful job.
22:01 Big program, sir.
22:03 Interconnected, great, and a lovely coach.
22:05 And, you know, Coach Fullman was great with all the programs in the past.
22:07 Honestly, you're appreciating what Coach Romsby was doing one year.
22:11 Well, I mean, I think it's remarkable.
22:12 I mean, the opportunity to be able to come back to his home and to be able to do that,
22:16 and, you know, he's done a great job in being able to bring in the players,
22:20 to help them in that process.
22:22 And, you know, some of the guys that have been there that have continued on,
22:25 they're continuing to grow and get better.
22:27 It's always a challenge and challenge, but, you know,
22:31 it is a new age, and they're going to be a possible.
22:33 I mean, there's a different way that, you know,
22:35 in these last few years that all of you can transition into a job or an opportunity.
22:40 It's different than any time before.
22:42 So, you know, he's done a great job at it, and that's why I hope you're tomorrow night.
22:47 Any other questions?
22:48 We'll take two more, and then we'll go to the last one.
22:52 Mike Fucknell here, Bethel SportsCenter.
22:54 Since Jordan's tireless injury, how has he motivated and also energized the team?
23:00 Well, you know, he cares so much, and I think even the night that he got injured,
23:06 that weekend, I mean, just to see the outreach from our players to the football team,
23:12 it was a -- they've been receiving, you know, so much from him for the last four years.
23:17 And, you know, he's somebody that cares.
23:19 He's somebody that is so selfless.
23:21 I mean, you know, he's one of the best players in all of college football,
23:24 and he will never tell you that.
23:26 You know, he used to get a show up, and he didn't care about it.
23:28 He made some plays, and he's going to work, and he's going to just pour it all in
23:32 to help them be as good as they can possibly be.
23:36 And, you know, he went down.
23:38 It was a great opportunity for his teammates to build a show, you know,
23:41 and help him stay there.
23:43 And I think it has been -- it's been twofold.
23:46 The first thing that last Saturday night that he got hurt,
23:50 the first thing he told me when I went to see him was, you know,
23:52 "I'm going to be in games on next Saturday.
23:55 I'm going to be at that game.
23:56 I don't care what I have to do, I will be there for the team."
23:59 And he came in pregame this morning, and he had a bad wrap around his leg,
24:04 and he was like, "Man, that's a real man."
24:07 And he just thought full first thing, you know,
24:10 so we must forward, motivated him to that.
24:13 And, you know, he's doing it.
24:16 Last question, left side.
24:17 I was just going to say a couple of words here, Black Thong.
24:19 What have you seen from the team in the sense of not knowing who the quarterbacks
24:23 could be at such an important position going into last week and into this week,
24:27 and have they not -- have they been bothered by it,
24:30 or have they just gone about their business?
24:32 We all have a job to do, and, you know, we're --
24:35 we're doing limited jobs in the week, and, you know,
24:37 it opens up the door for Friday night to prepare and get ready,
24:40 and so we've all worked up -- we've all had the time,
24:42 and, you know, I don't think they've been bothered by it.
24:45 You know, you've got quarterbacks, and everybody's a quarterback.
24:48 They have their own unique personality, and Kate's personality is different than Jordan's,
24:52 and Jordan this year was their -- and Jordan last year.
24:55 So you're unique, you're a lot fewer, you're Black, and Asian, all those guys,
24:58 and so when they get the best stuff on the field,
25:01 I don't need them to try to be a talking top, I need them --
25:03 I need them to be genuinely who they are, and then go --
25:06 they all have to make that thing somewhere in the house.
25:09 They all -- you get to feel their presence in how they work and how they communicate
25:15 and the work that they do and the effort that they give, and that's what's important.
25:19 And that's what I'm most proud of in that room, and I think that's the best of all.
25:22 Great job with that room, and the guys --
25:24 the guys around them, they know that regardless of who has to be out there
25:30 or who gets to be out there, everybody's there.
25:32 I mean, it's our job to go play better and to go make each other better with the performances that we have,
25:38 and I've got a lot of confidence that our team will continue to do that
25:42 and stay better throughout the season and get another opportunity tomorrow night.
25:46 Okay, thank you, Coach.
25:47 Thank you, Coach.
25:48 [Background conversation]
25:55 I just wanted to give everybody a reminder, Matt Hesselbeck is here, so, yeah,
26:00 any questions for him, he's here at any -- any questions of ACC football, ACC Network?
