00:00 - Come front row on your left from Chris.
00:03 - Hey Cam, so after being committed for like three years,
00:05 what was it like to actually finally get here,
00:07 be part of it, be doing tour of duty, be on Grosse?
00:11 - Just to be able to get here, it been a blessing.
00:14 Being committed three years, it showed me that
00:16 I had a lot of trust in the coaching staff
00:18 and they had a lot of trust in me.
00:19 So being able to come and just work
00:21 and put in the work with the guys that's here,
00:24 it was truly a blessing to me.
00:29 - All right, we'll stay there for Brandon.
00:30 - Seen so many workouts while visiting,
00:34 now that you're partaking in them, being part of it,
00:36 any surprises or anything standing out to you?
00:39 - So far, the workouts, they're doing pretty good.
00:42 I'm doing pretty good in them.
00:44 Seeing them, I thought they would be a lot easier
00:46 than what they were, but getting here,
00:47 being able to participate and go through the tour of duties
00:50 and stuff like that, it's been a real challenge.
00:53 - Will, second row on your left for Evan.
00:56 - Hey, does it feel different at all just to be,
00:58 when you're in campus, you're going to class now,
01:00 you're getting to do all, like,
01:01 how does it feel to finally be part of the
01:04 Florida State family now that you've been
01:06 through the process for so long?
01:08 - Being a part of the Florida State family, it feels good.
01:11 It's something a little bit different to me
01:13 because of not being in classes during high school.
01:16 So I had to kind of adjust,
01:18 fix my schedule a little bit, set timers and alarms.
01:22 So just going through that process again,
01:24 it kind of brought a new aspect to my life.
01:27 - Third row on your left for Jordan.
01:29 - Cam, I know you've answered this a hundred times before,
01:31 but why was loyalty such an important part
01:33 of your recruitment?
01:34 Why did you say, why did you commit so early
01:36 and never look anywhere else?
01:38 - I committed so early because the coaching staff
01:40 was always true and they always kept it real with me.
01:44 Coach Yack, Coach Nerville, they weren't always
01:46 pitching the sentence of, "You'll start when you get here."
01:50 They always told me I would be developed.
01:52 They told me that Florida State was a place where
01:55 it was all about going to get to the next level.
01:57 So being able to grow as a athlete, a student,
02:00 and just a man in general,
02:02 that was something that I wanted from a coaching staff
02:04 and a program.
02:05 - We'll come second row to your right, Briar.
02:09 - Did getting to play quarterback in high school,
02:11 do you think that helped you as a running back in any way?
02:13 And how so?
02:14 - Playing quarterback, it helped me a lot.
02:17 It helped me with my field, my field awareness,
02:20 IQ of the game, and also just being able to help the line.
02:24 Knowing what, knowing the line assignments,
02:26 everyone assignment on the field,
02:28 it'll help me at running back,
02:30 just because I know what blocks to pick up,
02:33 what the line have,
02:34 and also just the quarterback assignment.
02:36 So if I can know the quarterback reads and progression,
02:39 then it'll also help me knowing where the linebacker flow
02:42 and how the safety and stuff are flowing.
02:45 - You're obviously a big dude, but you also can run.
02:53 What's more fun?
02:54 Is it more fun running somebody over?
02:56 Is it more fun in juking somebody or running by them?
02:58 - To be honest, it's more fun just getting the ends on,
03:03 but I would probably say probably juking someone
03:08 on the field.
03:09 I laugh a lot when I run.
03:11 So just being able to laugh while I'm running
03:13 and then juking somebody, like laughing at them mid play,
03:16 I think that's pretty fun.
03:18 - We'll go to the back right.
03:26 I know you're focused on just learning the playbook
03:28 and working out,
03:29 but are there initial conversations
03:30 about kind of how you hope to be used
03:32 or how you think you could be best used
03:34 your first year at Florida State?
03:36 - Right now, the conversation is more
03:38 just getting the work in and progressing.
03:42 Coach Yack, there's no conversations
03:44 about who's going to start,
03:45 who's going to play the most, nothing like that.
03:47 He just wants all the running backs and the whole team
03:50 to just be able to get the work in,
03:52 be able to succeed and just feed off each other.
03:56 - We'll go back to Jordan Thurner on your left.
04:00 - Cam, kind of following up on what Ira said,
04:02 where does the love for working out come from
04:03 and when did you start getting in the weight room?
04:06 - I started getting in the weight room,
04:08 honestly, my ninth or 10th grade year.
04:11 I was in the weight room before that,
04:12 but it wasn't about lifting weights or anything like that.
04:15 I was working on more cardio and just mostly endurance.
04:20 I was doing a lot of lunges, pushups.
04:22 That was really about it.
04:23 But ninth, 10th grade year, I got in the weight room.
04:26 My uncle, we started building the muscle mass,
04:29 velocity and stuff like that.
04:31 So that was when I first got in the weight room.
04:33 - Go back to Edison, second to all your left.
04:37 - Obviously you've been around LT a lot,
04:38 coming to Florida State a lot,
04:40 but what has been like getting to know Roydell Williams
04:42 and knowing Jaylon Lucas,
04:43 who are two new additions in the running back room as well?
04:46 - Getting to know those guys,
04:48 it's been the best part about being around
04:51 all of the running backs.
04:52 Just about everybody in the room
04:54 had the same personality, everyone quiet,
04:57 but some days we can all joke, laugh,
04:59 and just be big kids, to be honest.
05:02 And that's something that I always wanted.
05:04 Coming out of high school,
05:06 I was kind of the main character
05:08 as far as playing all the time,
05:09 but I was still locked in.
05:11 But being able to come here and be with those guys,
05:13 it's been real, real blessing.
05:15 - Go back to Brendan, front row on your left.
05:19 - What are some aspects of your game
05:20 that you want to work on to craft here,
05:22 especially in the off season
05:24 and then the spring practice as well?
05:26 - So far, I've been mainly working on building speed.
05:30 The workouts and stuff,
05:32 a lot of them focus on speed and conditioning,
05:35 so I've been taking that real heavy.
05:39 Also, I've been keeping receipts on Twitter.
05:41 So I've seen a lot of people saying
05:43 that I didn't have the top end speed,
05:45 so that's what I'm trying to work forward to.
05:47 - I love keeping the receipts on.
05:49 (laughing)
05:51 - All right, next question will be Logan Robinson
05:53 from the Zoom.
05:54 - What up, Cam?
05:56 Do you have a goal weight by the end of spring,
05:58 and what's the game plan from Coach Storms for you?
06:01 - Right now, I'm trying to get to a good 215,
06:06 stay there, lose some fat, just build up muscle.
06:09 That's really the main goal for me.
06:12 Right now, I'm at 215,
06:13 but I want to try and lose a little bit
06:16 of the fat that I have.
06:17 The plan is really simple.
06:21 Just hitting the weight room every day,
06:23 getting my vitamins, protein,
06:25 and make sure I'm eating the right way.
06:27 - Hey, Cam.
06:31 I guess I know he's not joining the program,
06:32 I guess, until the summer,
06:34 but what's your relationship with Makai like?
06:36 And I guess, how are y'all complementary
06:38 as running backs coming in together?
06:39 And also, I mean, how do you think both of you
06:40 can kind of do everything that's needed within the offense?
06:43 - Makai, that's my guy.
06:44 Like you say, he's not coming in until the spring,
06:49 but the way that he works,
06:50 the way that he's hungry to be here,
06:53 I know that he'll come in and be ready to play
06:56 and also catch on to everything pretty quick.
06:58 But we don't talk as much as I think we should,
07:03 but that's definitely my guy,
07:05 and I know that we can both play alongside each other.
07:09 We both have every tool, every aspect of the game,
07:12 so just being able to have that one-two punch
07:14 is something that I'm looking forward to with Makai.
07:17 - We'll go to Aslan in the back right.
07:20 You know the movie "Rocky," Cam, the boxing movie?
07:22 - Well, I heard of it. - I heard of it.
07:25 - Yeah, so I watched that as a kid,
07:27 and it motivated me.
07:27 I wanted to work out and get big and strong like Rocky.
07:30 It didn't work out.
07:30 Like, I'd eat raw eggs and I'd do pushups.
07:33 Like, what motivated you to want to be so, I guess,
07:36 dedicated to the weightlifting aspect of it?
07:38 Like, were you doing pushups
07:39 when you were like three years old?
07:40 And when did you fall in love with the workout room?
07:43 - I fell in love with the workout room
07:44 when I seen my uncle, to be honest.
07:47 I always said I wanted to be bigger than him.
07:49 He's a professional bodybuilder.
07:51 He does competitions and stuff.
07:53 So I want to try and, I don't want to be as big as him,
07:56 but I want to show him like,
07:58 yeah, I can lift with you in the weight room.
08:00 But it started all when I was little.
08:03 My parents, they didn't play games with me.
08:05 So I was doing the pushups, the sit-ups every night.
08:07 Then I got to middle school,
08:09 and I knew that I had to get big
08:11 before I got in high school.
08:12 So I took it a lot more serious.
08:14 - We'll come back to Ira, on your right.
08:18 You and Luke have been kind of like tied together
08:20 during a lot of your recruitment.
08:22 When did you first meet him?
08:24 And when did, like, how excited were you
08:27 to have him as part of this class also?
08:30 - Me and Luke met through seven on seven.
08:32 Maybe ninth grade year, we probably met seven on seven.
08:38 We played on the same team for about a year and a half.
08:42 We had a lot of great memories at seven on seven tournament.
08:44 So that kind of built that connection.
08:46 And once he committed to Florida State,
08:48 it got a lot more stronger.
08:50 We were always competing during the recruitment process,
08:53 trying to outplay each other,
08:55 see who could get the most recruits to commit.
08:57 So that created a strong bond between us two.
09:00 - We'll go back to Chris, front row on your left.
09:04 - Hey Cam, is baseball still in the plans in 2025?
09:07 - Yes, sir.
09:08 I definitely want to play two sports.
09:10 Like I always say, I'm just not trying to minimize
09:14 my potential and the opportunities that I have in life.
09:18 - We'll go back to Essendt in the second row.
09:21 - On that, really the baseball,
09:23 just the passing of Mike Martin recently,
09:25 what was your reaction when you saw that?
09:26 Obviously being a baseball fan, you followed him.
09:29 So what was that?
09:30 - It was devastating seeing a guy
09:34 with that kind of personality being around a program
09:38 for a long time and just being a legend in the books.
09:42 It was real devastating to see that it happened so quick
09:47 and you never know when it's your moment.
09:49 So it was just kind of shocking that that day it was Mike.
09:53 - We'll go back to the front row on your right.
09:57 - You seem like a really focused young man.
09:59 Have you always been that way?
10:00 And where do you think that comes from?
10:02 - I've always been focused,
10:04 determined to get to the next level at every chapter.
10:08 It comes from my parents, seeing what they go through,
10:12 seeing where we ended up and stuff like that.
10:16 It was kind of motivational to me
10:18 to make sure that I did everything I could do
10:20 to help the family, help my little brother
10:22 and just get to where I wanted to go as well.
10:24 - Here they go.
10:27 All right, thanks Cam.
10:30 - Thank you.
10:30 Y'all have a good one.
10:31 - Thank you. - Thank you.
