00:00 All right, good day today, guys came out, had a good spirit about them.
00:05 Got some situational work, continuing to push and
00:08 I'm just excited for this week, excited for the opportunities ahead.
00:12 Just finished up with the guys, we gotta continue to push and
00:15 focus on the details.
00:17 It's just the little things that are gonna make a difference,
00:20 get to a championship game.
00:21 Two very talented teams, two very competitive teams that are gonna lock it
00:26 up, it's gonna be three and a half hours and so where can we make the difference?
00:31 Where can the rate separator be?
00:34 Communication details, obviously our execution, but excited for our guys,
00:38 excited for the opportunity and continue to work and push through.
00:42 Preparing ourselves to be better than what we've been.
00:44 >> When you come out of a game and a guy like he doesn't have as many touches as
00:49 he might normally have, do you look back and figure out,
00:53 is there something else you could have done or is it based on-
00:56 >> Sometimes it's just opportunity.
00:58 I mean, there's a guy getting targeted,
01:00 are we trying to put him in a position to get opportunities?
01:04 I mean, you look at that game specifically and
01:08 didn't have a whole lot of snaps, especially early in it.
01:10 You get some of the challenging, even in times you're trying to almost
01:15 present the absolute first option to get the ball to somebody.
01:20 But those are things that happen in games and
01:23 you just gotta be able to continue to grow from it where it's individually,
01:27 schematically, making the most of the opportunities.
01:31 But he's been in a really good mindset to go get better and
01:37 he knows that he's gonna be a key part just like every week of what we're trying
01:42 to get done.
01:42 >> Jackson played some really important snaps against Florida.
01:46 I mean, for you, you talk about earning trust is such a difficult process and
01:49 you need to keep on to it.
01:51 Is it a good day?
01:52 Is it a good week?
01:53 What allows you to build that this point of the season for
01:55 a guy like Jackson to get better?
01:57 >> He's getting better.
01:57 I mean, he's dealt with a lot of injuries throughout the course of his career.
02:02 It's kind of set him back just in early opportunities in seasons.
02:08 And I think he's just continuing to get better in all things that he's doing.
02:12 There was obviously different things that were in the plan and
02:16 different things we were doing that we felt gave us a great matchup and
02:20 a great opportunity for him to build impact and so he earns that.
02:24 But you've got a lot of trust in Jackson.
02:26 I'm excited about what his future is gonna be.
02:27 It just continues to improve.
02:29 >> Was it a good week of practice?
02:31 Was it good for him in particular?
02:33 >> For him or in general?
02:35 >> Just kind of in general in terms of you putting a guy in an important spot this
02:38 late in the season that might not have been in that position.
02:41 >> A good year of practice.
02:42 I mean, it doesn't, different things, you do have to earn opportunity,
02:47 but also opportunity has to present itself too.
02:50 And there's certain things that we got talented players at tight end.
02:54 We got talented players at receiver.
02:56 We got guys at running back that are gonna be incredible players here.
03:01 I mean, I think, and they might not be playing a ton right now.
03:04 But when you continue to get better and there are the moments that
03:10 you bring something to be able to make a great impact on the game,
03:15 we're gonna try to do that.
03:17 >> With Jordan not being out there, all the quarterbacks are getting so
03:20 many reps now.
03:21 Is that, I assume that's good for just all those guys to be.
03:24 >> Yeah, I mean, they know how quick they can be put in it.
03:28 And so you gotta make sure your guys are prepared, they're ready.
03:31 The communication, the execution, those details which we talked about earlier.
03:36 I mean, it's all critical.
03:38 And so I think they're embracing the challenge that they have
03:43 against the team that we're going against and just continuing to work through it.
03:47 >> You've been so complimentary there as Washington throughout the season,
03:51 all ACC honor.
03:51 But what's allowed you to progress at this rate of seven runs?
03:56 >> Yeah, I mean, he's somebody that's just worked throughout his career.
03:58 So he dealt with some injuries and really was limited in off seasons.
04:02 They're early from when we first got here.
04:05 But you see a great work ethic.
04:07 You see somebody that is really smart.
04:10 He cares, he spends time studying and learning.
04:13 He's the most versatile offensive lineman I've ever been around.
04:15 I mean, hands down, I mean, he's farted, I think, at every position.
04:19 Just he answers the call.
04:22 And that was really nice to see just the number of players that we had
04:27 that were recognized from other coaches and media for what they've done.
04:32 And some guys that, it's special when you see that.
04:38 And it's been a long journey with Darius and excited for
04:43 where he's continuing to grow and what he's continuing to do.
04:45 But that was definitely a compliment to that work.
04:48 >> You face a six year plumber, what are your expectations?
04:54 >> I mean, he's been through it, he's been in it.
04:57 You see that he's a great commander of their offense.
05:01 I mean, he can do it all.
05:04 They, more of a pocket passer, but I mean, they'll run speed option with them.
05:08 They will get him on the edge if you don't contain them.
05:11 I think it's one of the things that's kind of probably underappreciated for
05:15 him is just the things he will do with his legs.
05:18 Whether it's a scramble, a draw, the option things,
05:23 forcing teams to account for him.
05:25 But then he makes all the throws.
05:26 I mean, he locates the ball well.
05:28 He's got some dynamic players around him.
05:30 And so he's done a great job with that offense.
05:32 >> You mentioned the LACC honors,
05:34 Keon getting honored at three different positions.
05:37 I mean, does that just speak to how you guys will use guys?
05:40 >> Absolutely, I mean, that's one of the things that is great to see.
05:45 You got a playmaker that has made plays all over the field.
05:48 And the respect and appreciation that he's earned through that.
05:54 I mean, he had no punt returns before he came here.
05:58 But that was something that we felt he could make a great impact.
06:01 He was willing and wanted to.
06:03 And now he's recognized as the best specialist,
06:07 the all purpose here in the ACC.
06:11 And so that was really, really neat to see.
06:13 >> And again, from the people, Coach, either or, average amount of hours you
06:19 sleep on a week or per night, or your fastest 40 time ever?
06:23 >> Not very many.
06:26 And was it per night?
06:29 I can't remember, what did you say?
06:30 >> The 40.
06:31 >> The 40?
06:32 >> Yes.
06:32 >> That's pretty good.
06:35 >> Fast enough?
06:36 >> Fast enough.
06:37 Zone coverage beater.
06:39 >> [LAUGH]
