00:00 Congestive heart failure, or a condition of a feeling of nausea,
00:03 was the cause of death of an elephant in Manila Zoo named Mally.
00:07 According to the chief veterinarian of the zoo,
00:10 Mally was given emergency drugs and vitamins to get better,
00:14 but she couldn't take it anymore.
00:16 In the necropsy, she also found out that she had cancer.
00:19 They regularly check up the animals that are being cared for in Manila Zoo.
00:24 The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,
00:27 or PETA, was angry and disappointed with Mally's condition.
00:32 In 2010, they proposed to the Manila Zoo's chief
00:36 to return Mally to her natural habitat.
00:40 But according to Mayor Hanny Lacuña,
00:42 it's not easy to adopt Mally in a sanctuary
00:45 that has been living in captivity for a long time.
00:48 Lacuña will write in Sri Lanka
00:50 to remind the people to promise a new donation of elephants to Manila Zoo.
00:55 But PETA will do everything to stop it.
