00:00 >> What was the perception that was going through your mind as you finalized the game
00:03 there?
00:03 >> I just knew in that situation they were gonna try to force feed the ball to
00:07 number one, cuz that is their guy.
00:08 So once I seen him cross my face in the drop, I knew the ball was going at us, so
00:12 I just had to get my eyes on the quarterback.
00:14 And once I seen his eyes on that receive, I just made a break, caught the ball, and
00:18 just tried to get down in the game.
00:21 >> How soon did you realize you wanted to get the ball to the dads?
00:25 >> Really right after I got off the bench.
00:26 I'm trying to find out what I'm gonna do with it.
00:28 And then I'm looking at it, I'm like, okay, let me go get this to my pops.
00:30 So I just ran over there and gave it to him.
00:32 Cuz the last time I caught one, he didn't get to keep it.
00:35 So this one, we gotta keep this one.
00:37 We ain't gonna tell nobody though.
00:38 [LAUGH] >> As the game went on,
00:43 it seemed like Matt Brown, the quarterback, was getting more and more rattled.
00:45 Did you guys feel that as a defense, the more pressure you got on him?
00:48 >> Yes, sir.
00:49 We can see it in his eyes and everything.
00:52 We feel it, get the sense of the game, of what the quarterback tries to do.
00:55 So as a defense, we feel it, so we're gonna keep attacking.
00:58 Once we feel it, we're like vultures, so we keep attacking.
01:01 >> And those final two drives, Jared has two sacks on one drive,
01:06 Pat has two sacks, we see some kind of takeover in that moment.
01:11 What is it like to see someone get that dominant and
01:13 kind of go on the street like that?
01:14 >> I feel like we needed them.
01:16 They stepped up big time, those back to back sacks.
01:18 I think both of them, back to back, first had this strip sack from the boy.
01:22 Lucky the ball went out of bounds.
01:23 Would have been a touchdown.
01:24 But for them to step up in that situation,
01:27 it mean a lot to us as a defense and as a team.
01:30 >> You were like a lot of guys who decided to come back this year for
01:34 a reason to maybe win a title.
01:37 >> Yes, sir.
01:38 >> Is this kind of the reward you're seeing the pay off now,
01:41 the opportunity to hit?
01:43 >> Yes, sir, this is part of the reason why we wanted to come back,
01:46 cuz we knew what we were capable of doing.
01:48 Just to get the opportunity and be in this position, it definitely means a lot.
01:52 >> What are you seeing from Louisville on offense?
01:55 It looks like they have some good playmakers, outlying running backs.
01:59 >> Yes, sir, we got playmakers too.
02:01 So it's gonna be a playmaker ball game.
02:04 I can say they got good running backs, we got good people on defense.
02:07 So just go out there and play our game.
02:09 And just stop the run and defend the pass.
02:11 >> Are they one of the offenses that try to establish a run first?
02:14 Like that's what they do?
02:15 >> Yeah, that's definitely what they like to do.
02:17 They like to run the ball, pistol, whatever, any formation.
02:21 That's what they are.
02:22 >> And that's a challenge.
02:23 I mean, that's something I'm sure you guys welcome.
02:26 >> Yes, sir, we like, that's how we get paid, stop on the run.
02:29 [LAUGH] >> Do you ever think about what you guys
02:33 were able to do to maybe the Heisman favorite?
02:36 I know it was 11 weeks ago, but just was that maybe-
02:39 >> It wasn't.
02:41 >> Anything that's allowed you guys to think that you're gonna be in
02:43 elite defense this year?
02:44 >> We kinda already knew we was gonna be elite defense with the guy we bought back.
02:47 We knew we had the chemistry and everything.
02:49 So just going against him was just another game.
02:51 We knew what he was capable of, that he is a runner, and
02:54 he also can throw the ball.
02:55 So just to limit what he can do against us and just go out there and play our game.
02:59 [BLANK_AUDIO]
03:04 >> Yes, sir.
03:05 Yes, sir, everybody come to the Tucker Center Wednesday 9/15.
03:11 Little bro is playing.
