Albury Botanic Gardens goes electric
Transcript
00:00 We're here to really showcase a transition led by our team here at the Albury Botanic
00:06 Gardens in showing that transition to some electric vehicles and equipment.
00:11 So whether it's the leaf blowers, the hedge trimmer, the push mowers and things of that
00:16 nature as well as a zero turn mower and also a ute that will be trialled at this site.
00:23 So it's really part of the community's push for us all to do what we can to reduce emissions
00:29 and this is a great example of trialling some of this equipment as it's coming onto the
00:32 market to test if it's fit for purpose and from that we'll be able to have other transitions
00:39 as ageing plant and equipment reaches the end of its use.
00:44 I think the Botanic Gardens is a perfect pilot site because there's such a range of equipment
00:49 that they need from leaf blowers, from hedge trimmers, the whippersnippers as well as the
00:54 push lawn mowers so it really gives an opportunity on some of that minor equipment but also the
01:00 lawn mower as well, the zero turn one.
01:03 So it's an idea to trial it, see what works and we can incorporate it in other elements
01:09 of the business as well because we do use a lot of equipment, we've got a lot of fleet
01:14 as well so that's part of the transition that we do intend to do over the coming years but
01:19 it's a great example of just technology evolving and changing, needs to be fit for purpose,
01:25 the equipment that the team uses here at the Albury Botanic Gardens as you can imagine
01:29 gets quite the work out keeping these gardens in such pristine condition so our team felt
01:34 it was the perfect location to trial some of these new advances in electric technology.
