00:00 Obviously Jordan getting hurt, taking Thrust in,
00:03 you guys have come from behind and just handling all of that.
00:07 >> Yeah, I mean, it's with it being senior day already,
00:09 there's already a lot of emotion going into that game.
00:12 And then obviously you never wanna see something like that happen,
00:16 just knowing all the work that he's put in and how much he cares about his teammates.
00:21 And I was proud of how Tate came into it.
00:25 He just handled that emotional swing kind of back and forth and
00:28 then was able to go out and have success and send our seniors out the right way.
00:32 >> How did Tate play all at home?
00:34 >> He did a good job.
00:35 I mean, he went out, he operated the offense,
00:37 he saw a couple of explosives come through.
00:38 I mean, I think that Tate's a guy that, I've said it before,
00:43 I mean, he continues to get reps.
00:45 And those increased reps throughout the season,
00:47 throughout his career are showing dividends.
00:49 >> How does he handle just the exterior stuff?
00:54 >> Sure, I mean, I think we do a great job as a program and
00:58 he's done a great job of just owning his role.
01:00 He's been phenomenal in his preparation, just getting ready,
01:05 never knowing when that moment comes, whether it's in a game and
01:08 whether it's in a year, whatever that looks like,
01:10 whenever that time comes, just being ready for it.
01:12 So I mean, I think the mentality of just being prepared and
01:17 trusting the work is really what it comes down to.
01:20 >> What are Tate's greatest strengths and where has he improved the most?
01:23 >> I mean, the arm talent is evident.
01:27 I mean, he had some pretty impressive throws just last week.
01:30 He had a hash to sideline field comeback throw.
01:35 That's a big boy throw right there.
01:37 He's pretty athletic too now.
01:40 I mean, a lot of people just see a big, tall, lanky guy back there, but
01:43 he can move a little bit.
01:45 Plus he puts on some good tic-tocs and some back flips and everything.
01:48 But I mean, I think the reps that he's accumulated over the last couple years and
01:53 everything too, I mean, they've prepared for this.
01:56 >> What's it say about Jordan just a couple days after his injury,
01:58 he's already back out here supporting the guys?
02:00 >> It doesn't surprise me one bit.
02:02 I mean, Jordan is somebody that he always puts other people first,
02:07 even when I went and saw him on Saturday.
02:11 I mean, I'm sure you guys saw on social media and everything too.
02:13 I mean, he's following the game, he's cheering on his teammates.
02:16 I've said it a million times before, he's a special, special person because of how
02:23 much he cares about other people and wants to see other people do well.
02:26 And seeing him at practice today was awesome, it was great.
02:30 >> How quick was your response when Jordan was down and it was obvious?
02:34 >> Yeah.
02:35 >> How quickly were you able to switch to Robert?
02:40 >> Yeah, I mean, there's always a motion to it.
02:46 I've been through a lot with Jordan.
02:49 I have a great deal of care for him, not just as a football player, but as a person.
02:53 And at the same time though, I have a job to put our program,
02:59 our players, and the best players should be successful.
03:01 So it's taking that moment to compose yourself and
03:06 be able to get the tape ready to go and execute.
03:10 That's real life.
03:11 No, I can't sit here and say, hey, it's just, it's next guy.
03:16 That's not what it is, that's not what we're about.
03:20 Trusting the work, trusting the preparation, and knowing that team will be ready.
03:23 >> How does Brock handle the elevated role?
03:25 I have a couple of questions.
03:27 >> So I mean, Brock is such a football guy that, I mean, he's getting more reps now.
03:32 But he's a film junkie, he's always asking questions.
03:35 He's always coming up to the office and everything.
03:37 And it's an opportunity that he's been working for.
03:41 >> Didn't look like a freshman today.
03:43 >> No, he's got that quarterback moxie to him.
03:47 He's very composed back there, carries himself really well.
03:51 Able to slow his mind down and calm himself.
03:55 I mean, he's impressive, he's mature for his age.
03:58 >> How do you assess his performance at East North Alabama?
04:01 Those game reps?
04:02 >> It was fun to get him in there.
04:04 Obviously, limited action earlier in the season.
04:07 The thing that I'm most proud of with Brock is just we talked about response in
04:11 the program all the time.
04:13 And earlier in the year, just having facing face to injury, and
04:16 then working himself to come back and staying locked in and being involved.
04:21 So then when he gets back, we're not really skipping a rep,
04:24 we're not really skipping a beat.
04:26 But it was good to see him get in there, get in the end zone and everything.
04:29 I don't know about the touchdown dance, but
04:31 you might have to work with Keon on that a little bit.
04:33 But it was fun to see him get in there.
04:37 >> How far has Tate come over the last just two years?
04:39 >> Gosh, it's been remarkable just watching just his approach and
04:45 how he's continued to work and take ownership in the offense.
04:49 I keep using the word reps and repetition and everything,
04:53 that always helps, that helps with anybody.
04:54 But as you've seen his confidence grow just throughout the years, and
04:59 I mean, what you see now from him is a confident quarterback that will stand
05:02 back there and throw the football when things break down.
05:05 He's athletic enough to go make some things happen, so.
05:07 >> Obviously, the circumstances, but
05:09 you're excited to some degree for the opportunity that Tate now has.
05:13 >> I'm excited for him.
05:14 I mean, he obviously is a little bit of a rough start when I first got here and
05:19 everything.
05:20 And I hate that we had to put him in that situation.
05:23 Cuz it's not fun for a lot of freshmen to get out there and
05:27 get thrown into a game early and everything.
05:29 But he's continued to prepare, he's continued to work at it,
05:32 he's continued to get better.
05:34 And I think it's gonna be fun to watch him go out there on Saturday night.
05:38 >> Can you talk about University of Florida's defensive work,
05:41 like what you've seen in the weekend?
05:43 >> Yeah, I mean, they're very multiple.
05:44 It's good players, I mean, athletic, they do what they do well.
05:51 But at the same time, we try and keep the focus on us doing what we can do
05:57 to execute on a consistent basis at a high level, own the football,
06:01 give our guys chances.
06:02 I mean, we have athletes all over the field, whether you're talking about
06:04 the receivers, the tight ends, the running backs.
06:06 We're gonna have opportunities, so it's our job to make the right decision and
06:10 give our guys a chance.
06:11 Thank you.
