Josh Dobbs on Vikings' Loss in Denver
Transcript
00:00 What's up?
00:00 Good evening.
00:01 Obviously, tough loss on the road.
00:04 Hats off to the Broncos for pulling it out in the end.
00:06 I thought we did some good things on offense.
00:09 We challenged a line early with wanting
00:11 to establish a presence up front and on the line of scrimmage.
00:14 And they did a great job, especially in the first half,
00:17 of allowing us to lean on them, get into a rhythm.
00:20 I thought Alex and Ty did a great job
00:21 running the ball downhill.
00:23 We had a lot of explosive runs.
00:24 Guys made some big catches down the field, too, as well.
00:26 And we were leading up until the last two-minute drive.
00:30 Defense did a tremendous job of battling.
00:32 I don't think they converted on the third down all day.
00:36 We gave them two short fields, and they held them
00:38 to field goals.
00:39 And so as an offense, looking back at the game quickly,
00:42 it came down to turnovers.
00:43 We talked about it going into the week.
00:45 As a team that thrived off turnovers,
00:47 we lost a turnover battle 3-0.
00:49 And at the end of the day, it's hard in this league
00:51 to go on the road and win.
00:52 And it's even harder when you don't take care of the football
00:56 like you're supposed to.
00:57 So that's something that we can be better at on offense,
00:58 because we know when we protect the football
01:00 and play the way we do, we give ourselves a chance to win,
01:03 and we win a lot of football games.
01:05 So that's something we'll focus on this week.
01:07 And we've got a big division game coming next Monday.
01:09 So we're excited to get back to work,
01:11 get back to Minnesota and play with our home friends,
01:14 and put together a good game.
01:16 So I'll open it up to questions.
