NECA Chucky TV Series Ultimate Chucky Figure

00:00 Now there's more Chucky to see now that he's on TV. Here's a look at the NECA
00:04 Chucky Ultimate TV Series action figure.
00:09 Chucky is back when a vintage Chucky doll turns up in a suburban yard sale and
00:35 an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders
00:40 begins to expose the town's hypocrisies and secrets. This ultimate action figure
00:44 depicts the murderous doll inhabited by the soul of a serial killer as seen in
00:48 the all-new coming of rage TV series Chucky including four interchangeable
00:52 head sculpts, interchangeable hands, butcher knife, syringe bundle and an
00:56 interchangeable burnt arm. The figure stands four inches tall with over 15
01:00 points of articulation. From Charles the Ray to Cathode Ray before of course we
01:05 get a closer look at the new TV series Chucky ultimate figure. I also just
01:09 realized by saying Cathode Ray that joke would have only made sense if I told it
01:12 about 40 years ago. TVs aren't made of cathode rays anymore. Anyways though
01:18 before we get a closer look at the brand new Chucky I wanted to get of course the
01:21 tape measure which has been out this whole time. Chucky stands about three and
01:24 a half inches in height or the figure is gonna be about nine centimeters tall.
01:28 Does anybody still own a Cathode Ray tube TV? Does anybody still own the
01:33 original ultimate Chucky's that we've gotten from NECA before? Here's what the
01:37 figure looks like with the original ultimate child's play Chucky. Here's
01:39 also what the figure as well looks like with the bride of Chucky and even though
01:42 they are using completely different heads from one to the other you can see
01:46 that they're all sharing about the same type of body. A lot of fun stuff comes
01:51 in clue with the new Chucky. First the figure comes in clue with a bunch of
01:53 syringes. These syringes are all attached with one another. I think reference more
01:58 to that episode scene in the series. I'm now a third episode possibly even the
02:01 fourth episode into the season three. Who else has been watching the new Chucky
02:05 series and what are your thoughts of it down below? I will say though I haven't
02:08 been loving it as much as the movies. It seems to be the case that they're
02:11 throwing anything and everything against the wall and whether it sticks or not
02:14 they used to be still using it in the series. Child's play now I'm not gonna go
02:18 tell you what's happening right now in the series if you haven't had the chance.
02:21 Definitely do check out the Chucky series but if you have been watching the
02:24 series let me know what you think of it down below. Back though to the
02:26 accessories the figure comes in clue with a bound of syringes. You can see
02:30 that they're all kind of taped together and you can take them and you can fit
02:33 them into his hand. Not really though the hand that he has right now but he has a
02:35 couple of swappable hands to work with. The figure as well comes in clue with a
02:39 butcher knife. I would love if this figure could have come in clue with a
02:41 dishwasher for anybody that's seen that part of the series. Ever since that one
02:45 episode I've always made sure well I've always honestly always made sure that
02:49 the cutlery and everything was facing the right way inside of the baskets. How
02:54 many people out there have somebody that stacks a dishwasher terribly? I have
02:58 somebody in my household that doesn't know apparently how to stack just
03:01 matching shapes alone. Plates are plates, bowls are bowls. Anyways the figure
03:06 does come in clue with a butcher knife. The butcher knife has been cast here in
03:10 a silver plastic. You can see that the front and the back of the handle has
03:13 been painted nicely there in black. That also fits as well into his hands. This
03:17 whole time of course I've been talking all about these hands. The figure comes
03:21 in clue with first of all if I don't drop them comes with a pair of gripping
03:24 hands. Now these are ideal of course because the figure only has like relaxed
03:27 hands in his sockets right now. Let's fix that problem. We're just gonna go ahead
03:31 and remove the hand. Carefully just remove it and pop it easily from the
03:34 form. Then replace it with the hand that you want to use. There we go. And then you
03:38 can take the syringes for example and you can fit them in. Now I find with the
03:41 syringes they don't go all the way in but if you get them just sort of holding
03:45 one of them it seems to be enough to kind of get everything in play. Now you
03:48 can also as well pry the plastic away from the palm. That might also help
03:52 things a little bit easier to get the syringes in his hand. The syringes might
03:55 likely be my thing I'm gonna be displaying with the figure but they're
03:57 honestly one of the hardest things to have the figure holding. Again you just
04:00 sort of have them resting, resting, see if I can actually get them in there. I had
04:05 them in there earlier but again like they they're very stubborn to get
04:09 actually into his hand. May even in fact have to heat the hand just a little bit
04:12 more in hot water to get the syringes in his hands. Anyways he does hold that, not
04:17 the best, but he holds a lot easier though the knife. The knife easily
04:20 just fits into his hand and you can have the character walking around with the
04:23 knife because of course these hands are also the same ones used technically for
04:27 the other Child's Play figures. You can also just easily swap these hands out
04:30 too. The one hand that I might be very curious to use, maybe not necessarily
04:33 with this Chucky, but certainly one of the others, is the fact the finger has a
04:37 flipping of the bird Chucky hand. Stumpy little sausages and again like if you
04:43 wanted to really you could use one of the other... oh didn't mean to startle you.
04:45 Sorry, sorry didn't mean to startle you. You can use then these hands and just
04:49 easily pop them out with the other forearm hands because again like they're
04:51 using all the same pegs. The figure also as well comes included with a very
04:55 mangled looking arm, chewed up. It looks like the dog's gotten to it. You can see
04:59 that it's chewed away the top of the corner or top of the shoulder there and
05:02 all mangled is the hand down below. This can again fit into his... normally I would
05:07 have said fit into his forearm but in this case you're actually gonna remove
05:10 the entire forearm and this is just a case of popping this off the peg. That's
05:14 just for right now at least remove the knife. Go ahead and pop the shoulder all
05:18 the way out and then replace that one. Make sure I had it facing the right way.
05:21 Then we're gonna pop in the damaged arm. Again if you really wanted to, you
05:26 could use for all intents and purposes this arm with say another Chucky. The
05:30 only thing unfortunately about that though is that the striping of the
05:32 sweater may vary a little bit. Like if you were to say compare it with this
05:36 Chucky, it's actually pretty close. I was gonna say it's more really the
05:39 coveralls that are a little more faded on say the original Ultimate Chucky. A
05:43 little bit more brighter and vibrant here with this Chucky but again you
05:47 could just use those arms if you wanted to for another figure instead. Maybe for
05:50 right now we'll actually keep the arm in place. I mean it doesn't really detract.
05:54 It doesn't actually remove any additional articulation for a second. I
05:57 mean like the figure still has a bend in the elbow. It still retains the full
06:00 articulation in his hand. The only thing he doesn't have now is because
06:04 they way they sculpted the hand and the part of his wrist actually all scarred
06:07 like this, instead of being able then to remove the hand and say swap it out with
06:11 one that's flipping the bird, you wouldn't be able to do that because of
06:13 course this is all now one piece. So this doesn't come off for example. So I
06:17 suppose in some way it does actually sacrifice a little bit of articulation
06:20 but not a whole lot. Let's just get this completely plugged in place. Actually you
06:24 know what we're gonna go back. All my things keep changing my mind here. I'm
06:27 gonna pop this other one in just because again I want to be able to change out
06:30 the hand. Just make sure it's all the way in there. There we go. And now we've got
06:34 the hand of course now being fully accessible. We're gonna easily do then
06:38 just pop this off. Although I realize the hand with the thumb is actually facing
06:42 on this side. So again if you want to just pop it off just pop it off on that
06:45 side. Replace it with the one that's flipping the bird. The figure also as
06:48 well comes includes some swappable head sculpts. I guess the one that's closest
06:52 to the one that we have here right now. He has sort of a defaulted head that
06:55 just has sort of more of a smirk on his face. You can see that there's something's
06:59 plotting behind the scenes of the plastic there. It looks like he definitely
07:02 has some killing in mind. But if you wanted one that has a smiling face then
07:06 there's also this option available as well. The longer hair I find is one thing
07:09 that's not really a big fan of it in the series. They've changed the design of
07:13 Chucky but I feel like he doesn't look as good as he did as in maybe even in
07:17 the movies. I just recently in fact watched Child's Play 3 and as little
07:21 as much as I like that movie. I will say though about the designing of Chucky at
07:24 least in Child's Play 3. I like the way that he was designed better back then. He
07:28 looks a little bit more rubbery now which I guess would make better sense if
07:32 he is a plastic doll and all. But I just don't like the way he's designed as much
07:35 in the series. Of course he has much longer hair in the series as well and
07:38 that's the case with all the head sculpts. Even the burnt one that we're
07:41 about to have a look at. Did you just say burnt head sculpt? I did say burnt head
07:45 sculpt. One thing that's also interesting about the heads is that if you were to
07:48 say pop them and replace them. I'm just gonna go ahead and pop this head off right now.
07:52 You can't easily replace it. I say easily. The ball joint is a little unforgiving.
07:56 I'm just gonna pop the new head in place. If you wanted to really though you could
08:00 also use any one of these other heads too. So say for example you wanted to
08:04 have brighter looking coveralls for an older Chucky. It's just a case of popping
08:08 off the head. Putting the figure down here for a second. Popping off the head for the
08:12 ultimate Chucky we originally looked at and you can then use the other heads for
08:16 for this body. So again if you wanted to have the brighter colored coveralls you
08:20 maybe don't like as much the fact that the original coveralls were a little bit
08:22 more faded. You can go the route of actually using it because again like
08:25 they're using the same bodies. They're also using as well the same size peg
08:28 joints. Pop that off as well. The figure also comes included with the laughing
08:33 head sculpt. Again we'll just pop that onto the ball joint. There we go.
08:37 Really again a difference of expressions but all of them are so nicely done. I'm
08:41 tempted really again once again to buy another Chucky just so I could use the
08:44 different head sculpts. Again like this one has the smiling face with the teeth.
08:48 This one has full out laughing Chucky. Sinister he certainly looks and the
08:53 coloring on all the head sculpts are really good. Even if I really
08:57 am not a fan of the longer hair and even if I'm not a fan of more the way he's
09:01 designed in the series. I will say like Nekus does once again a fantastic job of
09:05 sculpting Chucky. Right down to little freckles that he has across the cheeks
09:09 and the top of his nose. Now there's this head sculpt or if you wanted to have the
09:13 one that has the melting face he also has that available as well. The thing
09:17 about the melting face though is as we pop this off once again, popping off a
09:21 lot of heads in this review, pop the new one in place. This one was harder
09:25 in fact to kind of get in place and once it actually is in place you may also
09:29 want to go and change the arm out too. So again you can kind of get then this
09:33 arm plug that in place and then you've got the melted face and melted arm. The
09:37 head sculpt on this one a little bit more scarier to see and of course all
09:40 the plastic is now melted down the side of his face. Of course it's gonna cause
09:44 a little bit more problems when it comes to the poseability on the figure. While I
09:46 do love the fact that they included a head sculpt as gross as this, I'm not gonna
09:50 ever really see myself displaying the figure with it. Many of the other options
09:54 are certainly strong contenders for what I'm gonna display with the figure. Like
09:57 even just a regular defaulted head or even like the laughing head sculpt is
10:01 certainly a fun one as well. I can't really ever see myself really displaying the
10:05 Chucky with the melted face. I love the fact they included it but it's not one
10:08 I'm gonna really display with the figure on my collection at least. So let's for
10:12 right now we'll pop in the laughing head sculpt. Again pop that back, a very
10:16 satisfying snap and getting a closer look at the rest of the figure's body. Of
10:19 course the body is gonna be the same as the other two Chucky's we looked at
10:23 before. Again also if you really wanted to, you could use just the
10:26 regular bodies from the earlier Chucky's and we just pop those in
10:30 place just to show you. I know I've already said this several times, you can
10:33 easily use the bodies and use the heads and swap them around really if you
10:36 wanted to. Again you could have yourself the clone of Chucky's. For the rest of
10:40 the costume it's gonna be exactly the same. It's not gonna be as coarse badly
10:43 damaged as the one that we got for example of Bride to Chucky but you can
10:46 see like the bodies, the arms at least and the lower legs are exactly the same
10:49 and then they would have had to tool them differently adding the additional
10:52 appreciated rips there on the front of the coveralls, down below there on the
10:55 lower legs. Not as much really on the sleeves. The sleeves are gonna be a
10:58 little bit darker though but exactly the same bodies though. The articulation on
11:03 Chucky is also going to be the same. The head is gonna be obviously on a ball
11:06 joint so it's gonna rotate all the way around. It looks down and looks up and
11:09 you can also rock it back and forth as well. Now the upper torso is an
11:13 interesting thing in the sense that there's actually a ball joint working
11:16 behind the scenes. You can't actually move it back and forth and you can see
11:19 there's an actual body underneath the coveralls that has its own independent
11:22 ball joint. You can also take as well those arms and rotate them all the way
11:27 around. They hinge easily out at 90 degrees. You can bend the elbow at 90 as
11:30 well. You can also rotate the arms back and forth, rotate the hands all the way
11:34 around. Chucky's legs do split the same way as the Chucky's before. They all work
11:39 the same with a ball joint. You take the legs and move forward, you can move them
11:42 back. There's a very mild swivel at the top of the thigh, a single
11:45 hinge only in the knee that allows at least the lower leg to only wiggle
11:49 just a little bit back and forth and then of course there's always the
11:51 appreciated ankle articulation. There's a ball joint there as well that allows
11:55 the ankle move back and forth. All in all though it's a really nice looking
11:58 figure. Still though not sure if I'm loving Child's Play, at least the Chucky
12:01 series. I always really loved the movies but there's something to be said about
12:05 the idea of having too much Chucky and maybe that's the problem I'm finding
12:08 with the series. Luckily there has been of course some gap space and luckily as
12:12 well for the Child's Play series, Chucky from season 1 to season 2 to season 3,
12:16 while they've kept mostly the same characters, like the same trio of the
12:21 main characters are still there. Of course they're always introducing
12:24 new characters, they're always introducing new scenes, so Chucky while
12:27 not spoiling anything to anyone who hasn't seen yet the series, Chucky does
12:31 change his environment a little bit from season 1 to season 2 to season 3.
12:35 Now into season 3, let's bring in the other Chuckys here for a second.
12:38 Now into season 3, again they're throwing everything it seems against the wall. I
12:43 mean we've had multiple Chuckys, we've had Chuckys appearing in different
12:46 personalities and different looks and builds. I mean all in all it's an okay
12:50 series. One thing I will say though is even though it's delivering what I don't
12:54 feel to be one of my favorite aspects of Chucky, I will say though we have gotten
12:58 ourselves quite a nice looking figure from the folks over at NECA toys,
13:00 utilizing of course the same building blocks and blueprints as the one that
13:04 the other two figures we've already gotten before. That being the
13:06 original Child's Play Chucky, that being of course the Bride of Chucky, whether
13:09 you got that one packed along with his bride or you picked up like myself as
13:12 well the single card release. Yeah it's still using the same body but they have
13:16 colored it obviously a lot brighter here for the Child's Play Chucky series. I
13:20 keep wanting to call it Child's Play with the Chucky series and of course
13:22 granting him four additional head sculpts that weren't present with
13:26 the other releases before. The longer hair is a little off for me at
13:29 least but the head sculpt is fantastic. The face, the characteristics and
13:33 expression that they've sculpted onto the face of Chucky is certainly one of
13:37 the best we've gotten from from NECA. NECA has been doing good things when it
13:40 comes to Child's Play property. Whether you are a fan of the Chucky series or
13:44 just sort of lukewarm liking it like I am, it's definitely a good-looking figure
13:48 from the folks over at NECA. I think we're all familiar with the phrase "too
13:52 much of a good thing" but I think that also applies a bit towards the Chucky
13:55 series. The problem with Chucky is that he works better with a standalone film
13:59 where you get the chance to take a break away from the character before a new
14:02 Child's Play movie comes out. With Chucky though you get Chucky all the time. Every
14:06 week there's a new episode and every week you get a new kill from Chucky.
14:10 Sometimes you're also graced with several kills in an episode and the
14:13 kills are always fun. The deaths are always fun. But the problem with it though
14:17 is there's just too much Chucky to go around. By season 2 I found myself
14:21 getting a little exhausted by the idea that "oh we're introducing even more
14:24 Chucky's" sort of something that they started back then with the trend of "cult
14:28 of Chucky" and I always really felt the problem with "cult of Chucky" is the
14:31 direction that they went with where you could get multiple Chucky's by simply
14:34 just casting a voodoo curse amongst many different good guys and Chucky could
14:38 just spread his essence around that way. I thought it was always an abandoned yet
14:43 fun idea if they had gone back and looked at the vat of plastic that had
14:46 the dripping blood at the beginning of Child's Play 3. That should have been a
14:50 strong outlet then to branch that into "cult of Chucky" where all that dripped
14:54 blood plastic could have eventually been made into Chucky's and Chucky was then
14:58 able to bring those other Chucky's to the the Usain Asylum where we see that
15:02 setting take place in "cult of Chucky". Taking that idea and carrying that into
15:06 the Chucky series instead of actually just having the same Chucky all the time
15:10 and of course they bring in other good guys in there as well. What if they had
15:13 branched the series into the idea that every new season or every several
15:17 episodes there was a new good guy from that vat of plastic? While it's still
15:21 being a Chucky it would be though a different Chucky from the original one
15:24 and you'd have different owners, different kids having those dolls in
15:28 every again every couple of episodes or even every new season could be a new
15:32 good guy. I think there could have been a lot more fun that way but instead what
15:36 we get is the original Chucky sort of again just doing different fun things.
15:39 They've thrown things as many things as they can to the wall. Anything and
15:43 everything I did mention in this review whether it sticks or not seems to be
15:46 what they're doing with a good guy character. Like Chucky just there's so
15:50 much happening with him whether he has different personalities, different
15:53 traits, different builds even to his body. The fact that we get a strong-armed
15:57 good guy I think is a little silly when you think about it but also I feel it's
16:01 just it's too much of the character happening that by the time that we got
16:05 to well I'm season 3 episode 3 I think at the time that I'm doing this video so
16:09 I haven't finished yet season 3 but I'm not one that I'm excited to go back and
16:14 watch a new episode. I'll watch it when I get the chance and that shouldn't be
16:18 the case when it comes to anything Chucky related. If it was a new
16:21 movie I would be jumping at the chance to watch a new Chucky. Well maybe not the
16:25 new Child's Play remake. I wasn't super excited to see that but the series is
16:29 something I'm just thinking is okay. I think some of it also has something to
16:32 do with the acting. The characters that they chose and more importantly the
16:35 actors behind the scenes. Zachary Arthur I don't think has the acting chops to be
16:39 the main character Jake Wheeler. I think if anything Olivia Lind who plays Lexi
16:43 Cross is a stronger character she should have been the main Jake Wheeler should
16:47 have been the supporting but it's not just the acting it's just the fact that
16:50 there's just too much Chucky every single week and maybe my love for it
16:54 isn't as much as my love's been for the original Child's Play movies. What do you
16:57 guys think? Let me know down below in the comment section do you agree with that
17:00 or do you are you guys loving the Chucky series? I'm enjoying it from the kill
17:04 standpoint I'm not enjoying it as much for Chucky which is not something you
17:08 really should be saying for a Chucky series. When it goes certainly to the
17:11 figure, Neck has done once again a great job on him. Now he comes with lots of
17:15 accessories for final looks. I'm wrapping up things with the melted face and
17:18 melted arm. Two things definitely not gonna be displayed with the figure. If
17:21 anything I might end up using the damaged arm and display that with the
17:25 pizza face or half nod away face that he has for that other alternate head sculpt
17:30 for the I think was the ultimate Chucky that had that head. I might end up using
17:33 the arm for that but at least the benefit of using all the same building
17:36 blocks for the bodies. The ball joints are gonna be the exact same the pegs are
17:40 gonna be exactly the same so you can mix and match them if you wanted to. If you
17:43 have enough Chucky's you certainly can have different ways of displaying the
17:46 figure on the show. Not gonna be going this route when it comes to be
17:48 displaying this figure. I think I'm probably gonna be going more the laughing
17:51 face and have the syringes in his hand but I always love the idea that Neck
17:54 throws in as much as they do when it comes to these ultimate releases. If you
17:57 guys enjoyed this video I want to hit with a like. If you guys are loving the
17:59 content you guys are seeing and you certainly would like to stick around for
18:02 more even if you do disagree with what I just said and you are actually loving
18:05 the Chucky series. I always like to hear what you guys think of these things down
18:09 below in the comment section and certainly make sure you're coming back
18:11 on a regular basis because again while we have wrapped up things right now for
18:14 the Chucky series, there's definitely gonna be a lot more Neck reviews coming your way.
18:18 As always guys thanks for watching see you guys next time!
18:23 you
18:26 you
