Can Jalen Milroe win the Heisman Trophy

00:00 Well, I kind of want to comment on the Heisman talk, because my opinion varies a little bit

00:09 from Austin and Katie's, for two reasons.

00:14 Number one, Caleb Williams is obviously not going to win the Heisman this year.

00:18 So you've taken the guy who won it last year really out of the picture.

00:24 And number two, voters have a much shorter attention span nowadays than they used to.

00:31 If Jalen leads Alabama to an impressive win over Auburn, and then if Alabama beats Georgia

00:37 and he plays really well again, this guy could win it.

00:41 He really could.

00:42 And look, I know it's a little bit of a stretch, and you're sitting there going, "Well, what

00:45 about the early part of the season?"

00:47 People are going to forget that.

00:49 What they're looking at right now is a guy who is going to remind them of Cam Newton.

00:54 And just the way that they have adjusted the offense, and they've gotten so much better,

01:00 if they continue to improve, if things click in these two huge games, I guarantee you not

01:05 only will he be a finalist, he will be in the running to win the thing.

01:09 Because the one guy that I keep circling to say, "This guy is really impressive," Daniels

01:16 for LSU, Jalen Melroe had a better game than Daniels did when they met, I have to add.

01:21 And people are going to remember that part.

01:23 So is it going to be a distraction?

01:27 Absolutely not.

01:28 Because it's still kind of coming out of left field, and no one's given him a shot yet.

01:33 But man, it's the way that he's grown and he's developed.

01:37 And let's be honest, a lot of it has to do with the fact that the offensive line has

01:41 gotten better too.

01:43 And we aren't seeing dropped passes anymore and so forth down the line.

01:49 That's why we're talking about Alabama continuing to improve.

01:51 Now granted, if they go to Georgia on a late day, forget it.

01:56 But it's interesting to me a little bit as a whole how there's no talk about awards this

02:04 year.

02:05 And I think that really kind of helps save it with this team.

02:08 They'll probably win a couple.

02:10 You know, Rikers got a real shot for Lou Groza.

02:15 And you know, Dallas Turner might win something.

02:20 Kool-Aid might as well.

02:23 But compared to other years, it's very different.

02:27 And I think that's going to help this team in the long run.
