Though the Tide looked solid in its first outing under Kalen DeBoer, there is still a lot to address ahead of this fall.

00:00The Alabama Crimson Tide is just a week removed from its first A-Day game under new head coach
00:04Kalen DeBoer, and while the team did show flashes on both sides of the ball, there are many questions
00:08left unanswered as Alabama transitions into the summer period. Let's take a look at what exactly
00:13the Tide needs to figure out ahead of this fall. First, we'll start with something likely looming
00:17in the forefront of every Alabama fan's mind, who's going to be the go-to guy in this year's
00:21offense. Judging by the A-Day game alone, new transfer Jeremy Bernard and Jalen Milrow have
00:25quickly become big fans of one another as the former Washington wideout led all receivers last
00:30Saturday with three receptions for 122 yards. He connected with Milrow on the longest play of the
00:35day on a 52-yard pass to set the offense up for a touchdown just a snap later. Outside of Bernard,
00:41former running back Emmanuel Henderson and sophomore Cole Adams also hauled in three
00:44receptions on the day, but with such limited action through the air, none of the Tide's
00:48wideouts did much to separate themselves from one another. Next, Alabama needs to answer some
00:52questions defensively, most importantly of which is who's going to step up in the absence of Terry
00:57Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry. The easy answer would be USC transfer and former five-star Domani
01:02Jackson. He was one of the country's most highly sought-after recruits in 2022 and is, after all,
01:07the only cornerback on Alabama's roster with any meaningful game experience. Outside of Jackson,
01:11the Tide sports a plethora of freshmen, many of which saw extended playing time last Saturday.
01:16DeBoer has already mentioned once his interest in utilizing the transfer portal to fill positions of
01:20need, and this may be a prime spot for the Tide to take in a new transfer. Finally, while it was
01:24clear and obvious during the A-Day game that Alabama has a deep catalog of talented running
01:28backs on its roster, Kaelin DeBoer and new offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan will have
01:32to be very creative in order to get each back involved. Jim Miller saw the most action at A-Day,
01:37finishing with eight attempts for 83 yards and two scores, but both Richard Young and
01:40Justice Haynes showed flashes of brilliance and will likely push for playing time this fall.
01:44Alabama's coaching staff will absolutely need to find a way to get all three involved for
01:48this year's offensive attack.
