00:00 >> All right, how about that crowd?
00:02 Absolutely electric group, made that really special.
00:06 It was fun to sit up there and watch two elite quarterbacks battle it out.
00:09 Obviously, we've got a really special one on our sideline.
00:12 I think that's a Heisman worthy performance from Bo and
00:15 fun to do it in front of fifth largest crowd ever here in Autzen Stadium.
00:19 So we knew that it was a talented team.
00:21 We knew that they were dangerous and they had the ability to come back.
00:24 So I don't know that anybody ever felt relaxed,
00:27 disappointed a little bit with our finish.
00:29 Cuz I think we're a much better team than what we showed down the stretch.
00:33 But we got some good experience for some guys as we got dinged up a little bit.
00:36 The penalties is something that you guys will wanna ask questions about and
00:39 we've got to address it for us to be the team that we wanna be.
00:42 We have to become more disciplined.
00:43 I'm not sure that I agreed with every single one of them, but
00:46 that being said, it's something that we can certainly fix.
00:49 And some of those are ones that we can attack.
00:51 I thought we were physical tonight.
00:54 I thought that showed up consistently.
00:56 And we knew we had to eliminate some explosive plays, but
00:58 we gave them life with a couple of those explosive plays that they hit late.
01:01 So that being said, we can open it up.
01:03 >> Start on the right here, Zach.
01:04 >> The defensive line really had a big impact getting Caleb out of the pocket and
01:11 kind of forcing him into some tough positions.
01:12 How do you assess their play tonight?
01:14 >> Yeah, I thought there was some really great moments.
01:16 I think we'll go back and look at some of these explosive plays and
01:18 say how we gave him a little bit more opportunity than he needed.
01:21 But we have a defensive line that can create havoc.
01:24 We've got some guys that are talented players.
01:27 They were going against, that was a good front.
01:28 They have a good offensive line.
01:29 And I thought our guys were able to create some havoc and
01:33 mess up some of the timing there in the back end,
01:35 because they have some really talented wide outs.
01:36 So good job.
01:38 We got to eliminate the explosive plays though.
01:40 >> Second row, second seat, Eric.
01:42 Speaking of explosive plays, you guys opened and
01:45 got on them quick with those two big ones downfield.
01:47 But obviously, you're gonna look for those.
01:49 But did you see them susceptible back there?
01:51 Is that part of the reason you were so aggressive so quick?
01:53 >> More so saw what we were capable of, right?
01:56 It's still about players making plays, right?
01:58 And the guy made a great catch, broke a tackle, and turned it into a huge play.
02:02 And I think that's what football really is about.
02:05 We have to be a great tackling team.
02:06 We have to be a great team at breaking tackles.
02:08 We're gonna go back and
02:08 see some fundamentals that we could have done a lot better tonight.
02:11 That's what practice is for.
02:13 So they did some things that we thought we could take advantage of.
02:17 I thought our coaches did a good job of attacking that.
02:19 But there's some finishing pieces that we can certainly clean up.
02:22 >> On the left here, Garrett.
02:25 >> Yeah, Dan, which areas of the penalties were you most frustrated with from your
02:29 team, and which ones did you not necessarily agree with?
02:31 >> I couldn't go through every single one of them right now.
02:33 And part of it is you need to watch the film before you can have a really great
02:37 assessment of exactly what happened.
02:39 At the end of the day, the amount of penalties we had is too much.
02:43 And we've talked about it a couple times up here before.
02:45 We do different things at practice to try to attack it.
02:47 But we have to make a decision on how good do we really wanna be.
02:51 And it hurts us.
02:53 And it didn't kill us tonight.
02:55 But there were some critical ones in there that certainly didn't help.
02:59 >> Back left, Max.
03:00 >> Coach, Jordan Burch arrived here primarily touted as an edge rusher.
03:06 But he's really excelled against defending the run this year.
03:09 Can you speak to his development this year just as an overall defensive lineman?
03:13 >> Yeah, week in and week out,
03:14 I think Jordan's gotten better and better and better.
03:16 I think the sky's the absolute limit for this guy.
03:18 He's a really, really talented player.
03:20 He comes in, he takes great notes.
03:22 He works really hard to be a good player for his teammates and
03:26 the people around him.
03:26 And he takes advantage of the plays that he gets an opportunity to make.
03:30 So I know that being said, that Jordan's gonna see some plays that he wishes he
03:33 could have made, but he's been really good for us.
03:35 >> Front left, James.
03:36 You talked about getting a fast start.
03:39 You got one.
03:40 It's always critical, but what does it do for you defensively when you're playing
03:45 from ahead against a team like this from the very beginning?
03:48 >> Yeah, I mean, it's hard when you play a team like USC,
03:51 where they can score quick.
03:53 So I don't know if you ever feel comfortable, but there is a difference.
03:57 There is a difference in the game when you're having some success on offense, and
03:59 we certainly had some success on offense.
04:01 I don't think we punted in the first half.
04:04 When you're able to move the ball, and
04:05 especially move the ball in the run game,
04:07 I think that really opens up some opportunities for us.
04:09 I thought defensively we did a good job stopping the run at times for
04:13 a team that we thought was a really good back.
04:15 So overall, us being ahead of the chains, it certainly helped.
04:20 I think we've gotta work on having that killer instinct to finish down the stretch.
04:24 >> All the way in the back, Trevor.
04:25 >> Bucky and JPJ, two guys that were clearly dinged up but came back in at
04:31 the end to help you close out that game in the fourth quarter.
04:33 What did you make of those guys' performances today?
04:36 >> Yeah, tough guys.
04:37 And this is the time of year where a lot of people are dinged up.
04:40 But we gotta go attack the training room and get healthy and
04:43 put ourselves in a position where we can finish this thing the way we want to.
