00:00 Good day one, you know, there's always great energy the first day of practice, right?
00:04 But there's a lot to clean up. So we want to go attack technique
00:06 It's good to see some young guys out there picking it up these walkthroughs that we've been able to have leading up to
00:11 The spring ball really gives us that opportunity to take a step forward and get ahead
00:16 We'll have meetings following practice and able to attack some of that as well with our players
00:19 - but with that said we can open it up for questions you guys practicing with the in helmet communication yet
00:24 Yeah, we uh, you know, we were sent a couple by the office
00:27 We're using them and moving around player to player on on certain days on defense anyone besides Jeff who's gonna be one of those green dots
00:33 Everybody we're gonna train everybody to be able to use those
00:36 primarily in the linebacker room
00:39 You know, I don't know if there's a lot of huge benefit because there's gonna be a little bit of a period there that puts
00:48 Us behind but there's gonna be some guys that are able to join us here post
00:50 Post that first term that will give us a chance for get those guys involved
00:55 That certainly it lengthens that spring window
00:58 So you get a little bit more time in between to study what you've done well and what you can improve on
01:02 Yeah, I thought there was good and there was bad right the biggest thing you saw energy and you saw guys moving from drill to
01:10 Drill with a purpose there was mistakes made which there's gonna be it's about fixing those
01:14 He's moving to a student assistant role
01:20 How do you
01:22 Think effort and technique, right
01:29 Really and then are you making the same mistakes you made day one, right?
01:32 We got to eliminate those as we go forward, but it's just about constant improvement constant growth
01:36 Can't eat an elephant one bite, right? It takes one day at a time a little bit better each day
01:40 No, we're still we've got some you know, we're being conscientious of where he's at
01:48 They're doing a really good job in the treatment program. He's way ahead of schedule. He's done a really good job there
01:52 But we'll be conscientious through that with spring
01:54 Do anything this spring really same thing, right?
01:58 Like we're gonna be able to have these guys do what they can do, but be smart in the same process
02:02 First we're talking to you after the promotions and movements on the staff just what went into the various decisions promoting everybody from within
02:10 Moving Hampton to handle the whole DB's room Brian up to inside backers. Just the thoughts of how you feel you said
02:17 Yeah, we got a lot of really good coaches within this staff and it's about growing guys within the staff and giving them opportunities
02:22 when they prove and they deserve it right and
02:24 Whether it's you know, I am taking a bigger role there in the secondary or shot what dude stepping up to do more
02:29 With the corners, you know, Brian's been a guy that you know proved his value here last season
02:35 It was a guy that we want to get involved more as well. So and you know in our organization, it's about continuity
02:39 It's about growing within
02:41 Building guys that can that can fill those roles and do a good job
02:44 You still get a couple spots either in the strength conditioning or recruiting you're looking to fill or you've done at this point
02:48 We're always looking for how we can improve our program and what ways we can add, you know elements to our program make us better
02:54 But that doesn't necessarily have mean we have positions. We're still feeling
02:57 Particularly think made a good fit for them inside my backers spot. Yeah, I've just known Brian for a really long time
03:02 You know, I work with him in Memphis. I work with him at Arizona State. We're with him at Georgia
03:06 So he's a guy that I have a lot of familiarity with
03:08 And his knowledge of the game is understanding how we want to be able to accomplish things here
03:13 You know at the University of Oregon was a big help last year in his role that he did last year
03:17 So looking for him to take a step forward what he does this year
