00:16 Against an opponent that really struggles in run defense, I thought that the Detroit
00:20 Lions' play calling in terms of the run game was super solid.
00:24 And it's been real interesting to look at the discussion and narrative regarding Jameer
00:28 Gibbs.
00:29 Early on, many kind of have wondered about his usage.
00:33 Could he actually be a running back that could run through the tackles?
00:37 And many wondered, should Brad Holmes have invested the number 12 overall pick in a running
00:42 back, as other NFL teams are not really valuing running backs that high at this time.
00:48 But I look at Jameer Gibbs and what he's capable of.
00:51 Having David Montgomery out really put the opportunity for Jameer Gibbs to shine.
00:58 And what makes the performance even that much more stellar was two of the Lions' offensive
01:02 linemen, their starters were not there, not present in Jonah Jackson and Frank Ragnow.
01:08 I think early on you started to get a sense that Jameer Gibbs has been learning to be
01:12 a little bit more patient, waiting for the holes to open up, trusting where the blocks
01:18 are going to come from.
01:19 And you started to see his natural abilities, which are speed, his vision, his elusiveness.
01:25 And I thought that it was a perfect performance that he needed to showcase in front of a nationally
01:30 televised audience.
01:31 To have a breakaway run, to have a nice solid touchdown, to have an opportunity to interact
01:36 with the fans, showcase his personality.
01:38 I think Jameer Gibbs, one of the things that he's starting to kind of really execute and
01:44 really starting to silence the critics is he can be a running back that can shoulder
01:48 the load, can get 20 carries and have an opportunity to have success.
01:53 But I think for at this point in time, Cameron, to have Jameer Gibbs be utilized in a lot
01:58 of different ways, that's what was talked about.
02:01 He's an offensive weapon and he's a player that the Detroit Lions can count on moving
02:05 forward should David Montgomery's rib injury linger.
02:08 So I think that for Jameer Gibbs, it was a great Monday night and an opportunity now
