00:00 I thought today we got some productive work, normal third down day,
00:06 got some two minute work, still pushing speed against each other,
00:10 trying to continue to build and be more consistent and
00:15 implementing our fundamentals and techniques that we have.
00:17 I thought there was some good things that showed up and
00:21 there's some lapses at times that we gotta get better and
00:24 you'll just continue to push for our consistency.
00:27 I want every play to look and to work to execute to the standard that we operate.
00:34 And it was, like I said, I thought we did a majority practice but
00:37 there's still play here, play there.
00:39 And like I told the team, I mean, those plays that if you miss out on,
00:43 those could be remembered in a really bad way.
00:46 And we learn from the experiences we had and continue to push to be better.
00:50 >> How's Ben doing?
00:54 >> Good.
00:55 I mean, he's obviously a true freshman, still learning a lot of things and
00:59 a lot of areas, but he's very talented.
01:01 I mean, I'm excited about what he brings to our program.
01:03 Over these last few weeks with guys that have been down,
01:09 he's really got thrust into the role of having to prepare.
01:14 So whether it's this week, next week, whatever it might be,
01:17 if his number gets called, he's gotta be ready to go out there and perform.
01:21 But I'm seeing some positive steps and I think he's had a good week this week.
01:25 >> Has it been beneficial for Darion to get consistent through the months?
01:30 >> Absolutely, yeah.
01:30 I mean, I think we've all seen the flashes of what Darion could be, but
01:34 as he's been a better way to been healthy.
01:38 And you see, I mean, I think he's got a great, great upside and ceiling.
01:45 I mean, he can be a special player.
01:47 I think he's more confident.
01:49 I think he's continuing to build upon that.
01:52 He's done wonderful things for us this year.
01:53 And special teams and
01:55 obviously you caught some big passes and things like that.
02:00 But he's gonna continue to ascend and we're expecting him to really make an impact.
02:05 >> How do you coordinate the weather for you?
02:08 What's it gonna be?
02:09 Speaking of the challenge tonight, cold weather,
02:10 is that how the game is gonna play for you?
02:13 >> I mean, it'll distract you if you allow it to distract you.
02:16 And today was good.
02:18 It was chilly here for Tallahassee, but
02:21 it's still about how you're gonna go and get the work done.
02:25 And so, probably affected the media more than anybody else.
02:28 >> [LAUGH] >> When you have the scout showing up,
02:32 last year you guys had one player drafted.
02:34 Is that a sign that Florida State's back where it needs to be at?
02:37 >> With what?
02:38 >> The scouts showing up, NFL scouts coming and watching practices and
02:41 watching players.
02:42 >> Yeah, I mean, they showed up.
02:43 I mean, when you're at Florida State, you're gonna have guys here all the time.
02:46 And we had scouts here just about every day last year.
02:50 We had guys that could have been drafted high that just chose to come back.
02:55 And we got a great group and we're gonna continue to have those caliber of
03:00 guys that scouts wanna see, they wanna evaluate, get a sense of.
03:05 And I'm definitely grateful for them showing up and seeing our guys.
03:10 >> A lot of offenses don't play as well on the road as they do at home.
03:16 [BLANK_AUDIO]
03:23 >> It's just, you go play the game, you don't get caught up in all the
03:28 circumstances and situations you might find yourself in.
03:32 You don't be true to you, you be true to your training.
03:35 Obviously, we try to prepare when we are at practice to make it uncomfortable,
03:41 to be difficult, because that's what you're gonna face on the road.
03:46 A lot of varying factors and that could tie into it.
03:53 But as long as you stay focused on what you can control, you go out there and
03:57 be able to execute, be able to communicate.
03:59 And that's usually one of the toughest things, just the communication.
04:02 Then you put yourself in a good position.
04:06 I thought our guys did a great job of that a week ago.
04:08 And obviously one of the challenges that are here ahead for this week.
04:11 >> How's Dustin progressing for you guys?
04:14 >> Good, I mean, he's looked good the last couple days.
04:16 I'm expecting him to be able to make an impact wherever that, how much of that is.
04:22 We'll see as we get closer, same thing with the other guys.
04:24 It's like you go through a week and sometimes guys progress faster early in
04:30 a week and then we've seen some guys that ramped up there as we get a little closer.
04:35 So they're pushing hard, doing a great job in trying to take care of their bodies and
04:41 getting to work as necessary.
04:44 >> [INAUDIBLE]
04:54 >> I guess my advice,
04:57 watch the games, understanding of how teams play.
05:04 I think talent does have a part of it when you're trying to pick
05:11 what are the best four teams to do it, but then it's also how do you execute that?
05:16 What are you playing against?
05:18 And then what does that look like in the grand scheme of comparing yourself to or
05:22 comparing those teams to all others that are out there?
05:25 So I think I'll do a good job.
05:29 >> You talked about communication earlier on.
05:34 Was it better in the league than it was maybe earlier on?
05:37 Or is it the same thing?
05:39 >> I mean, we're- >> Particularly about the offensive line.
05:41 >> Yeah, I mean, I still think Clemson, let's take the Clemson game.
05:45 That was probably the loudest environment.
05:47 We didn't have a false start or procedure penalty.
05:49 So that was a positive thing in that game that you said,
05:54 are guys trained and prepared for this moment in this situation to be able to
05:59 communicate in that, played a really good defense.
06:03 And there were some elements of it that make,
06:06 there's sometimes some things on the road that you won't necessarily do.
06:11 And sometimes you'll do at home just because of the details in the execution
06:16 of your weather, just a lot of different factors.
06:19 So I think our guys have handled the road well.
06:25 But obviously this week will present its own challenges and
06:28 we gotta communicate well.
06:29 And I think we're a better football team now than what we were.
06:32 And that's part of growth.
06:34 So we'll see this week.
06:36 >> All right, you're good?
06:37 >> Thank you guys.
06:38 >> Thanks, Coach.
