00:00 The NCR Line operations of the Philippine National Railway will be stopped next year.
00:06 We will talk with Jeremy Rejino, the general manager of the Philippine National Railway or PNR.
00:14 Sir good afternoon. Welcome to the new Philippines.
00:18 Good afternoon to our listeners and viewers.
00:23 Good afternoon to all of you.
00:27 The number of flagstops opened this year.
00:33 Until when will this be open and where are these places?
00:36 This will be open until tomorrow.
00:39 This is the Hermosa Flagstop, that's 680 meters from the Chinese Cemetery at the Arpapa Gate.
00:50 At the Espeleta Flagstop, that's 230 meters from the San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Cemetery.
00:59 In the south, we have the Santa Ana Flagstop and in Candelaria, we have one.
01:17 It's 170 meters from the San Pedro Bautista Memorial Park and 250 meters from the Heaven of Crest Memorial Park in Candelaria.
01:31 Sir Chief, in your assessment, how is the number of passengers that are flying?
01:38 Our passengers in Metro Manila are full. Our countrymen, we noticed that even though the trains are not regular,
01:53 every hour, our trains are full because they're taking advantage of the fare of our trains and they are near the cemeteries.
02:09 Sir in your monitoring, how many passengers are being served by PNR daily?
02:15 On the average, it's peak season now because the real passengers are starting.
02:23 So around 30,000 per day.
02:25 Okay. In other talks, what is the reason for the PNR-NCR line closure and when will it be implemented and what are the stations that will be affected?
02:39 Thank you for that question.
02:42 If our countrymen remember, we are currently working on a model of line, our new models that will arrive.
02:55 This is from Clark to Calamba. It will pass through the right-of-way alignment of PNR.
03:06 This is an elevated model. Its top speed is 120 kilometers per hour. We have more than 400 train cars coming.
03:21 Its top speed is 120 kilometers per hour. It will cut travel time by more than a half.
03:31 Every 15 minutes, new trains are arriving. This should be given priority to our old trains.
03:41 This will be used as the right-of-way of PNR.
03:46 Since PNR will use the right-of-way to speed up construction and to be safe for our passengers, we need to temporarily stop the operation from here in Malabon, Governor Paschal, Malabon to Calamba.
04:05 We will stop from Alabang to Calamba. In January, May middle or later part of January, we will stop our operation in Metro Manila.
04:19 We will use our old trains for our trip from Calamba to Legazpi. PNR is now arranging our trip to Legazpi. We need to arrange the trains to Legazpi.
04:40 Sir to the passengers affected, what assistance will you provide in exchange for the temporary closure of these trains?
04:48 LTFRB has opened special franchises. We are thankful for the help of LTFRB to reduce the effect on our passengers.
05:03 There are special jeepney routes and special bus routes that LTFRB opened to be an alternative vehicle for our passengers.
05:18 We will release the alternative bus stops, jeepney stops, jeepney routes and bus routes to the stations before our stop operations are completed.
05:31 When will you expect the reopening of PNR lines through Naga and Legazpi?
05:40 If we can finish the lines that we are compiling, hopefully by Christmas, December 25, we will have a maiden trip to Naga and Legazpi.
05:56 Is it possible for PNR lines to continue opening in Caboan, Laguna and Bicol?
06:03 Yes. That's what we are arranging now for our trip to continue.
06:12 For now, we have Calamba to Lucena. We are arranging for Lucena to Naga. We also have Naga to Cipocot and Naga to Ligau Albay.
06:28 While we are arranging the routes, we are opening the lines, the direct lines from Lucena to Bicol and Naga to Legazpi. We are opening it slowly.
06:46 Okay. So please message all commuters who are connected to our program now.
06:54 Good afternoon to all of you. We are very grateful for the importance of PNR, for the help and support that you are receiving.
07:10 We are asking for a little understanding and patience from our countrymen. We need to temporarily stop our operation in Metro Manila by January
07:27 to provide a more efficient, more comfortable, and accessible route. It is safer because it is an elevated route, not an upgraded one.
07:43 It is a model that we can use and we will not wait for a long time and we will not travel for a long time.
07:54 We need a little sacrifice for a long-term benefit of our trip.
08:02 Not only to our countrymen from Calamba to Bicol, Metro Manila will be an additional part of their life, their transportation system because we will bring there the new PNR.
08:28 Thank you very much for your time. Jeremy Rejino, the General Manager of Philippine National Railways or PNR.
