PBBM congratulates winning #BSKE2023 candidates, reminds them to not waste opportunity to serve constituents

00:25 R. Marcos Jr. extended his greetings to the winning candidates.

00:28 In his message, President Marcos Jr. emphasized the significant role barangay officials play,

00:34 especially in addressing the concerns of residents and community issues.

00:37 "I would like to congratulate all the newly elected barangay and Esquire officials.

00:45 Your role is very important to our society.

00:48 This is a new opportunity to serve the Filipinos and our country with all our hearts and more

00:57 than we can ever imagine."

00:59 According to the president, the work doesn't end with the proclamation of the winning candidates.

01:04 Instead, it marks the beginning of more challenges and responsibilities.

01:09 The elected barangay officials were encouraged by the chief executive to serve faithfully

01:13 and prioritize the welfare of their constituents.

01:15 "We should be fair in all our hours.

01:18 We should always prioritize the welfare of our people because they are the reason why

01:25 we want to serve our country."

01:27 He also stressed that they should not waste the opportunity to serve and should repay

01:31 it with excellent service beyond their capabilities.

01:34 He also urged barangay officials to be open to cooperation with the national government

01:38 for the progress not only of their barangays but of the entire nation as well.

01:43 "In our unity and collective effort, we will surely help the new Philippines where

01:51 each barangay is peaceful, happy and prosperous, where unity, understanding and cooperation

02:01 are strong, and where each citizen is a high-ranking Filipino."

02:06 The president also acknowledged the service and cooperation of various sectors and branches

02:10 of the government for the success of BSKE.

02:13 The Commission on Elections previously stated that BSKE 2023 was generally well-conducted

02:19 and expected a voter turnout of 70-75% higher compared to 2018.
