00:00The three-day workshop of the GovData Initiative or GDI is being held continuously.
00:04The Manila Observatory and the Sustainable Development Strategies Group
00:08started on October 28.
00:11The workshop aims to improve the transparency
00:14in the mining governance following the projects of Cebu and Palawan,
00:18as well as the public participation mechanisms,
00:22environmental impact assessments, and revenue management.
00:26The PREDICTool, a platform
00:29that illustrates the social, environmental, and economic mining data
00:34that is far from being clear,
00:36the effect of mining in each area.
00:38According to GDI Executive Director Marco Zaplan,
00:41the initiative is important, especially in promoting transparency
00:46and giving the stakeholders proper resource governance.
00:50The Department of Budget and Management,
00:53Local Government, and Regional Coordination Bureau Director Atty. Ryan Dita
00:58will strengthen engagement between local communities and stakeholders.

01:07through responsible mining
01:10that balances economic and environmental goals.

01:34The preparation of the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange or P-TEX
