00:00 All right, another step towards game day.
00:01 Good prep today, still got plenty of work to clean up.
00:04 Obviously, we're playing a good team.
00:06 >> What's your reaction and thoughts to the news of Michigan in person scouting
00:10 here last year, and who knows even about this year?
00:13 >> Yeah, I don't have a lot of really thoughts on it.
00:16 I haven't been focused on it that much.
00:17 I mean, ultimately, I think that'll all sort itself out.
00:21 >> Importantly happened in the 21 SEC Championship game too.
00:23 Anything in the orange will stand out to you from-
00:26 >> I just remember the result of that game.
00:29 >> Support and communication going forward?
00:32 >> Yeah. >> How would it help defensively and
00:34 offensively for all this stuff?
00:36 >> I mean, I haven't been in the NFL, so I can't speak to how that works necessarily.
00:40 I'm sure that would help from a signal standpoint.
00:44 Ultimately, you're still gonna have to have signals that you communicate with
00:46 each other.
00:47 Even if one person's on the field getting the call, somehow they're gonna have to
00:50 relay a call to everybody else, and that's where you go out of the huddle every snap,
00:53 which is probably not the reality in college football.
00:55 >> So part of this is why you guys don't do walkthroughs at
00:58 road stadiums, just because of integrity and stuff, and
01:01 why coaches are just paranoid by nature now because of situations like this?
01:04 >> I think everybody's always aware of when they're traveling on the road,
01:07 where they go, and what they do.
01:09 I think that's your job to make sure that you protect your team.
01:13 >> Last week, Monday and Tuesday,
01:15 we talked about the intensity levels of practice being options.
01:17 What do they look like for you this week?
01:20 >> Yeah, we've had good practices, but
01:21 we have to finish the week off with some great practices as well.
01:24 But I think our guys are really focused on what it takes to be successful in
01:27 this game.
01:28 >> You said on Monday you guys simplified third down for
01:30 the defense a little bit.
01:31 How did the rest of the week go, just in third down situations for practice?
01:34 >> You're talking about this week?
01:35 >> Yeah.
01:36 >> I have to go watch the film.
01:37 Today was our third down day, so I think we did some stuff well, but
01:41 we'll have to go see what it looks like.
01:41 >> So the whole idea that you're focused on getting better on the road,
01:46 finishing on the road, do you think you've seen steps towards that direction?
01:49 >> We'll find out this weekend, right?
01:51 I don't know that you ever know until the bullets start to fly.
01:53 So at times we played really well on the road,
01:55 at times we could have certainly played better.
01:57 I still don't think we played a complete game there, so
01:59 this will be one that is required.
02:00 >> The fire drill today, I think that was the first time we as the media saw that.
02:04 Is that something that's a common occurrence during practices?
02:07 >> Yeah, yeah it is.
02:07 I mean, you wanna try to create game-like situations, so
02:11 that happens pretty frequently for us.
02:12 >> What if last year's game, and just a chaotic week of both being out,
02:18 what if winning that one that way and him running on the very last play after
02:21 being so limited, what did that mean to you as a coach?
02:24 >> It was a big win.
02:25 I mean, it's a big win, it's a tough game.
02:27 I think we had a resilient team.
02:29 That game, takeaways really showed up.
02:31 You saw how close the game was there at the end.
02:33 Us getting the ball out, that really mattered.
02:35 Us protecting the ball really mattered for us in that game.
02:37 >> Are there any similarities between Peppins for
02:40 Sanford with their two quarterbacks at Soutah?
02:44 >> Yeah, some, but they're definitely different teams.
02:48 This team certainly has an identity.
02:50 They're playing at a really, really high level.
02:52 I think it's gonna require great execution against these guys.
02:54 They do a lot of things really, really well.
