00:11 Let's also not forget who Brock Purdy is, Mr.
00:15 Irrelevant last year, the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft,
00:19 who has now started as it stands Donnie, 13 regular season games.
00:24 This is not some veteran that has been there for
00:26 five years that is still a little bit lackluster.
00:29 He is still learning in stride for
00:31 one of the best teams in the National Football League.
00:33 The question though Donnie, Brock Purdy has the billing of a system quarterback
00:38 with so many offensive pieces around him and a mastermind system under Kyle Shanahan.
00:43 Is it Purdy that's having success or
00:45 is it the system leading Purdy to those successful numbers?
00:49 And the last two weeks have drawn question to that very idea.
00:54 I don't have any issue with Brock Purdy.
00:56 My one bit of hesitation that maybe keeps San Francisco from that elite status at
01:02 the moment is when things are not perfect for Purdy, when things are not great for
01:07 Brock, can he be the quarterback single handedly to elevate those around him
01:13 to lead San Francisco to a victory?
01:15 Donnie, frankly, it's what he should have done the last two weeks.
01:18 Now I know Jake Moody missed the field goal from 41 yards out as San Francisco
01:23 set him up pretty perfectly in Cleveland, but Purdy was not great in that football
01:28 game.
01:28 Last week though, of course on Monday night just a few days ago,
01:31 San Francisco had two drives Donnie in the final six minutes of the fourth quarter
01:36 to go down, score a touchdown, win a football game, excuse me.
01:40 And he threw two interceptions.
01:43 The one with about five minutes left was really bad as San Francisco was
01:47 in Vikings territory.
01:49 That's my Purdy problem if there is one, not that they need a new quarterback,
01:55 not that Brock Purdy is not a really good QB in the National Football League.
01:59 It's at this moment Donnie, he has not been the guy individually at the most
02:03 important position on a football field, the quarterback to elevate those around him
02:08 to lead them by himself to a win.
02:12 That might be the only issue I have with Brock Purdy at the moment.

02:21 We weren't expecting all of this.
02:22 The last player drafted, he probably shouldn't be playing at this point here.
02:25 But there were some injuries and he stepped to the plate and earned that trust.
02:28 We also haven't seen him play bad.
02:30 Every quarterback, including Patrick Holmes, has bad games here.
02:33 It's okay, it's how you respond and bounce back from them.
02:36 I think the more troubling thing, Ben, here is as I keep getting back to
02:38 the point is, look, you can't play the upper echelon teams every single week.
